Well done.

Acknowledge the mistake, apologize and retire in good order with your dignity intact. Well done.

If only this standard could prevail over the whole of the internet.

I know, right?

truest of stories, arguing with someone over the internet is trying to argue with a rabbid chihuaha, you can´t just win

therefore I´ll just cast Ignore Person, a spell with no Save and no SR with the effect that those trolls can just go eat lima beans or whatever for all I care

For as the other comments actually meant something for me and I took some advice in later games, I´m still learning as a DM

and I sometimes am impulsive (NO, REALLY???), but that´s something I have to deal with LOL

anyways, cherio, I will go to work now

I left this post for a bit and damn! 72 comments :O

But yeah I overreacted, and yeah, there is always some people who read the book entirely and find loopholes to take advantage of said rules

and there will always be a setting where tech is something out, as there are settings relevant to Cthulhu Mythos, westerns, modern age, etc

I have found loopholes and ways to break the game in the 5th, so I now feel like a hypocrite, and i might actually be one

that said, i forgot the most important rule in any game that a DM puts

"you are the one who controls the game"

but this doesn't mean as some comment say that I should look for ways for my players to suffer/kill them or anything

i do usually go for my saying "have fun, it's just a game, and make the game fun as well, if not you will be forever alone" lol

anyways, there will always be new editions, new feats, rules and so that will break the game, but they are completely optional and for a DM to consider implementation or not

Well as the title says, seeing the new Numeria setting, with the Technology Guide and the new adventure path Iron Gods, all I could think is "Borderlands Much?"

I got dissapointed, really, I changed from 3.5 to pathfinder because they offered me new worlds, new skills, an improved 3.75 system, everything started to make sense immediately and all clases improved in a cool way

Continuing with the Medieval theme, with iconic monsters and some othernew cool monsters

It was a straight hook, they got all the old school players to change to Path and laugh at 3.5 and the stupid 4th version

Then new classes were coming, I loved all, except 1, the Gunslinger

The Gunslinger was cheesy, Full Bab, Touch Damage, full Dex can forget all other stats except WIS, and extra damage with DEX
This was not cool because if I wanted to put a full armor tank, the gun slinger would say "oh that´s cute"

Then came the Advanced Classes or Hybrids.............

talk about OP and Unbalanced!!!

This became more and more just a videogame, where the players would just think of a build and then win, most of the times, the monsters didn´t offer much challenge and most of the time I would get frustrated as a DM, because, hey! I want to win sometimes too!

The new setting reeks of a vile ripoff of Borderlands, come on!, lasers, bazookas, aliens and motherships?? LAME

I changed to 5th because everything became balanced there, I just wanted to see if anybody else feels dissapointed on Pathfinder like me

PD For the peolpe WHO STILL LIKE PATH, this in NO WAY affects you, if you like the system good for you, i just changed opinion that is all

i see, as for my question

are Natural Weapons (Natural Attacks) = Melee Weapons (Melee AttackS)?

Sczarni

Lead blades increases the momentum and density of your melee weapons just as they strike a foe.

Aren´t Natural Weapons = Melee Weapons?

Sczarni

Kazumetsa Raijin wrote:

Precisely what Lord_Malkov stated.

Also, Lead Blades will not work, even through AoMF, on your Natural attacks(or IUS) as they qualify as a Light Weapon.

What does AoMF and IUS mean :S?

How did he get his claws up to 2D6? Most claw abilities give you 1D4, Catfolk Exemplar can stack with Aspect of the Beast (Claws) for 1D6. Improved Natural Attack could bump the Catfolk up to 1D8 but thats still a bump away from 2D6 per claw. Barbarians can get 1D8 claws at level ten with Beast Totem I believe, but dont qualify for Improved Natural Attack by themselves. All told i could see the Catfolk Exemplar getting up to 4D6 per claw with Catfolk Exemplar(D4), Aspect of the Beast(D6), Improved Natural Attack (D8), Enlarge (2D6) and Strong Jaw (4D6).

He is a Shapeshifter Ranger with the Natural Weapons path, also I gave him a 3rd party Path from Midnight Heroic Paths that is called Beast

Vicious Assault: The beast is so vicious and aggressive that he can tear enemies to pieces with his bare hands. He gains two claw
attacks. At 6th level and 11th level, the beast’s claws deal greater damage as shown on the chart below. Because these are natural
attacks, the character may make both claw attacks at his normal BAB. He also qualifies for the Improved Natural Attack feat.
Level Medium Small
1st 1d4 1d3
6th 1d6 1d4
11th 1d8 1d6

another question: do normal combat rules apply on flight?

Sczarni

i have been wondering about combat rules in flight

[PC][NPC]

lets supose those are characters at ground level

[PC]

[NPC]

here the PC used Flight Hex and rose up 10 ft

would the NPC Have an AoO?

would normal AoO rules apply in the air? (assuming both characters can fly and are in adjacent squares in the air)

Sczarni

I have a Ranger that has Natural Weapons: Claws, and he took the Improved Natural Attack feat, his claws normally deal 2D6 damage

if he gets Enlarge+Lead Blades+ Strong JAW, would they stack?

if he gets a glove of Impact would it step up?

I have a question to what type of Step Up Dice to the next level are stackable

Sczarni

I am givin a player this 3rd party ability:

Vicious Assault: The beast is so vicious and aggressive that he can tear enemies to pieces with his bare hands. He gains two claw
attacks. At 6th level and 11th level, the beast’s claws deal greater damage as shown on the chart below. Because these are natural
attacks, the character may make both claw attacks at his normal BAB. He also qualifies for the Improved Natural Attack feat.
Level Medium Small
1st 1d4 1d3
6th 1d6 1d4
11th 1d8 1d6

and he is taking the Shapeshifter Ranger Arquetipe

will Vital Strike apply to both his attacks or just once to one claw

if not can he still make both attacks? since VS says
"When you use the attack action, you can make one attack at your highest base attack bonus that deals additional damage."

Sczarni

Does it count against Natural Weapon attacks?

Sczarni

When doing a CRitical hit, do they multiply?

Sczarni

Isn't Force an energy?

I ask this question as logic, not rule-based

Sczarni

The question is simple, being a normal medium sized PC can you still deflect attacks form a Large or bigger enemy?

I don't know why the idea of a Monk deflecting a hit from a Morningstar from a Cloud Giant, I just see it as something inconceivable

Sczarni

thanks guys, I was just checking, because it would be hard to save a dc 20 only by constitution alone, I was checking other monsters that had similar notes, but now i know saves are only FTD, REF, WILL for ANY situation that involves a PC saving against a spell or natural ability

Sczarni

There are some Monsters that have special abilities, let's look at the Aboleth for example

Mucus Cloud (Ex)

While underwater, an aboleth exudes a cloud of transparent slime. All creatures adjacent to an aboleth must succeed on a DC 20 Fortitude save each round or lose the ability to breathe air (but gain the ability to breathe water) for 3 hours. Renewed contact with an aboleth's mucus cloud and failing another save extends the effect for another 3 hours. The save DC is Constitution-based.

My question is, that the affected Player Character has to roll Fortitude as the whole sum, or just roll Constitution with the Modifiers that player has

or that means that the monster has calculated the DC because of Modifiers, CR and such?

Are wrote:

You can activate the ability, but it won't do anything for you in your situation. It only allows you to move freely in the face of magical effects that impede movement, but it appears that you're bound by ordinary physical restraints, which the ability does nothing against.

Freedom of Movement

School abjuration; Level bard 4, cleric 4, druid 4, ranger 4
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M (a leather strip bound to the target), DF
Range personal or touch
Target you or creature touched
Duration 10 min./level
Saving Throw Will negates (harmless); Spell Resistance yes (harmless)
This spell enables you or a creature you touch to move and attack
normally for the duration of the spell, even under the influence of
magic that usually impedes movement, such as paralysis, solid fog,
slow, and web. All combat maneuver checks made to grapple the
target automatically fail. The subject automatically succeeds on
any combat maneuver checks and Escape Artist checks made to
escape a grapple or a pin.
The spell also allows the subject to move and attack normally
while underwater, even with slashing weapons such as axes and
swords or with bludgeoning weapons such as flails, hammers, and
maces, provided that the weapon is wielded in the hand rather than
hurled. The freedom of movement spell does not, however, grant
water breathing.

The ability does say AS IF you had freedom of movement

but meh, my master decided to be a prick even when he told me that if i proved there is a way to free myself he would do it

because he plans to keep us locked by the enemies so another character who is stubborn and wants to ruin the play, he wants to see if he keeps his word on saving us

Sczarni

Liberation Domain
Deity: Desna.
Granted Powers: You are a spirit of freedom and a
staunch foe against all who would enslave and oppress.
Liberation (Su): You have the ability to ignore impediments
to your mobility. For a number of rounds per day equal
to your cleric level, you can move normally regardless
of magical effects that impede movement, as if you
were affected by freedom of movement. This effect occurs
automatically as soon as it applies. These rounds do not
need to be consecutive.

There's a scene where I'm currently blindfolded, made deaf by some objects in my ear, I'm handcuffed and my legs are also binded so that I may not move at all

Yet I have this power and the DM says I need my Holy Symbol to do the power, also I need the component of the spell Freedom of Movement.

He told me he knows there is nowhere on the book where it says otherwise, but I need to check with all DMs and discuss this rule, because he told me to ask that if there is something I need

I discussed this because it is a Domain power, something granted by a Divine Power, it is not a spell and the only ability that needs the Holy Symbol is the Channel Energy, as said on the Cleric Class

so do I need components/holy symbol to liberate myself from this awkward situation?

Sczarni

I see so an adamantite door would have around 40 hp per inch of thickness, lets say its 3 inches wide so it would have 120 HP

Sczarni

what is the purpose of the Inches of thickness then?

are you saying that it's easy destroying a fullplate adamantite armor just rolling damage as high as 65 points of damage (assuming the character is strong enough)?

this seems like an easy way of blowing away even the strongest armor with one Barbarian Sunderer

I thought it was 45 hp per inch of thickness

Well I just got selected as Venture Captain for my region, and this is just awesome, it is a dream come true, as far as everything else, I like my life, it´s cool because being a DM is awesome, I love my friends, currently single, but everything is cool, I would´t change a thing
