The Eberron book: 'Secrets of Xen'drik' is out (or out soon).
Maybe because it relates to jungles, but Secrets of Xen'drik is mroe centered on the fallen civilization of the giants, the jungle-dwelling drow, the shifting manifest zones and the lost magic of the giants. I am not sure how it would relate to STAP, but I do think it is an excellent book.

Actually the fallen civilization portion of the book is just one part of the whole. i own the book and will be running stap out of stormreach, it's a perfect local.the book basically relates to you everything you need to run a game on the continent from getting there and the dangers on the way to detailing storm reach , the civs present and forgotten as well as adventure sites already keyed out with descriptions as well as ADVENTURE OUT LINES NOT HOOKS THAT YOU CAN FLESH OUT FOR USE WITH THE SITES. also there is a encounters section with stats and details for everything from drow hunting bands. sahuagin raiding parties and even rival adventuring groups. i have found more use for this EB bookthen any other.

hey for music i favor the pirates ofthe carribean soundtrack as well as conan the barbarian. makemy own sound effects but there are several songs by the chieftans (irish scottish folk) that have people hooping and hollering and laughing in the the background, good for taverns snd other revellous times. patrici sperco does some good medieval and braoque tunes and the bridigan bards have some as well ,these except for the conan soundtrack can allbe found on itunes. hope it helps i'm not really a fan of the midnight syndicate

I think it's a matter of creative plot re-construction. I'm starting up a evil Pc campaign set in waterdeep. the newest issue of dungeon "Blood of malar" is perfect for a group of dubious characters. evil pc's opperating in the city would have just as much reason to get involved as good ones would. they just need a little more motivation, as opposed to just doin a good deed. in my parties case lord Orlpar will be replaced by Laird the scissor, the PC's patron working secretly for a small sect of mask worshippers looking to pull off some evil aims, the leaders of this sect will have ties to the baron of blood and the church of lovitar. by the time they get to run "blood of malar" they'll be quite dedicated to laird as a very well paying patron, so securing his life should be a no brainer, I'm even writing in Dhusarra and her allies to oppose the group before hand so that when the time comes they be sure to stand against her.

My group has decided that they would like this "evil" campaign to last longer than one session of killing everything just cause. so they know that for the game to work they need to not kill everything and eachother, though they may dislike eachothers company they still depend on the others abilities to ensure thier own success

But i also agree that it is not in the best interest of the magazine to publish evil adventures as they really do need to appeal to the broadest audience.

just my thoughts

thanks Qbert

You could use the gestalt option from Unearthed Arcana to help the pair function a little better.

I'm missing that book if you could fill me in on what exactly gestalt entails that would be rad. I've heard of it just don't have the book, I figure it may be similar to making the Pc way über

Well they need to get it. remind them that they are not personally swimming into a submerged dungeon that so far has been filled with nasties it's their PC's who'll be doing it. also the false tomb room resets but lanterns withing the complex that are not in the false tomb do not reappear, so that shouldn't work but if your stumped with them not getting the lantern have the reset place the lantern but add a gaurdian with the same el as the ghoul and the elemental. I'd make it two small air elementals. If they wanna play they gotta pay. otherwise your going Deus ex machina for them and thats no fun. anyway thats how i'd handle it.

Thanks for all the response on my querry . i feel pretty confident . the duo i'll be playing with is not my normal sunday group of Five. so it'll be a fun challenge from my normal games.

I might go with a Bard as one of the 2...or a Rogue through about 4 levels, to accumulate some skill points, then Wizard...I would play a straight Rogue through the whole thing, if I were a player...I love Rogues...I never heard of the variant mentioned, where Rogues can give up Sneak Attack, to get extra feats...that would rock

Grey Mouser:Rouge

Fafhrd: Bard(warrior poet,Skald)
worked for them ;)

thanks lots of good stuff here. I like your idea of back ground feats and skill points. this should help a bit. Ditto on the submerged area i have it filled 10 ft deep thats allot of water in 20 high room plus the elemental will be free to and will try to drag them under the surface so the underwater suspense will not be lost.
Thanks for the info if anyone else has any other options/advice that would be great. I'll post how it goes

What does Erik think?

Well tommorrow night we'll be making characters. I'm gonna let them flesh out there characters backgrounds All that i will be forcing is that they are tied to diamond lake and will suggest likely connections based on their race and class. which will take awhile, I'm hoping we get as far as one of the sub dungeons or the land farmstead. I just want to give em a good boost from what i've read this adventure has some pretty tough encounters for a party of for 1st lvls i can imagine what it would be with just two I'm leaning toward handing them max HP for their hd's each level and starting them at 2nd lvl

Hey every one I'm Gonna be commencing the AP tomorrow night. With only two players. I'm in no way allowing them to run more than one PC. I think with a little boost and a good duo of classes it can be real fun i've ran small groups back in 2e( 1 & 2 player parties) but never in 3 or 3.5e. I was thinking of starting them at second level , also going to be using action ponts. one thing i'm worried about are the two Wind gaurdians. i was thinking of just having one but depending on how they level i might just leave em at two. Any one got advice on adjusting the adventure for a party of two or other Pc configurations. Though on the whole i'm excited about a Duo and I think it will be fun challenging and quite a nice change of pace from the default Healer/tank/nuker/skill user party we all know and love. Oh, I'm a huge F. Leiber fan.

Any help would be super appreciated.

If i were to do such a thing i would import the pdf into illustrator or photoshop(if photoshop make sure resolution is set to 72 if you place the pdf). in either program make a square that is exactly 1x1in then scale the placed pdf till it matches. or what may prove easier is to bring up your rulers Via the "view" pull down menu. and scale the pdf till you get the grid to measure a square inch. those are the programs i use as a designer. not sure what other imaging programs to use but if their out their the technique would still apply. Kinkos can help(they have both apps.) plus you can print on nice big paper so you won't have to tile as much.any one you know run those Apps? hope it helps
