No, just the opposite. In world a 15 STR is greater than a 14 just as 16 is greater than 15. Anyone who puts on a +1 STR belt is making themselves stronger. That we only make even ability score boosters because only even ability scores have a heavy impact on combat is purely metagaming.

+1

having number based ability scores, in a math based game is metagaming.

gotcha... that was my original suspicion... so magus arcana does count as a single class feature, not individual class features gained at different levels(3/6/9/etc..)?

and the ability to enhance something (weapon/speed/whatever) WITH your arcana pool, is not a separate feature from the arcana pool itself?

correct?

okay, so hexcrafter and arcana dont kick in until 4th level. making bladebound okay, because it kicks in at a 3rd level arcana... that sounds reasonable.

but what about bladebound's blatant changing of arcana pool feature. and spell dancer's somewhat subtler changing of an a ability within the arcana pool?

"Really?! i have to sneak in all by myself?!.... alright.... i need you guys to spell bucaki me then..."*frown*

okay, thats what i wanted to hear, but...

the bladebound alters the "arcana pool" class feature by splitting it with your black blade, but the spell dancer part alters the "arcana pool" class feature by letting you choose to enhance speed, ac, various movement abilities etc... instead of your weapon.

also, the hexcrafter alters all of your "magus arcana" by allowing you to take hexes from the witch class. but the bladebound removes your third lvl "magus arcana".

are these not considered altering/removing the same class feature?

am i just generalizing class features too much?

not for society play, but i prefer not to ask for house rules from my DM.
