Game = kaput.

Maenír steps through the doorway and stops. Where is this? Is this where I was going? Where did I just come from?

The buzz of the crowd washes aways the hazy thoughts, and he soon finds himself sidling up to the bar and ordering a flagon of dark, hoppy brew.

Game = kaput.

Oh my gosh, it's Maenír! Hey, I know this is super late, but I wanted to apologize for disappearing - I was enjoying the game, but some pretty serious real life issues came up, and Paizo completely fell off my priorities list for a while. Apologies for neglecting to inform you. Anyway, I hope you are all having fun and slaying many zombies!

Ales all around!

Game = kaput.

I will delay my action - there aren't too many zombies left, and I want to keep a channel in reserve, in case we need a heal.

Game = kaput.

"I can't keep this up much longer, guys…"

Game = kaput.

Works for me

Maenír moves into position to do the most damage, and channels positive energy. "Hey, ugly! Why don’t you chew on this!?"

18d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2, 1, 6, 2, 5, 4, 5, 6, 3, 1, 1, 6, 5, 4, 2, 6) = 70

4/5 channels spent - only one left

Game = kaput.

"Hmmm. Okay - I'll get their attention, and throw everything I have at them. It will take a lot out of me, so we'll only get one shot at this - let's get it right."

Maenír stabs an arrow into the ground just inside the doorway, so he can find the hidden portal again.

"Are we ready?

Game = kaput.

"I suppose I could be pursuaded." Maenír says with a smile.

I don't know if it will affect everything in the room, but I'll give it a shot.

Game = kaput.

"Where's the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom! Where’s my illudium Q-36 explosive space modulator?"

Game = kaput.

An Earth-shattering kaboom!

Game = kaput.

"No, that’s it - the spell has been broken. It knows we are here, now.

Lilo, would you do the honors, and light it up?"

Game = kaput.

"Did you get the staff, Landis?"

Maenír shows the mask to Lilo - perhaps we can figure out what it is, later.

Game = kaput.

Maenír points to Landis and then the staff, and then himself and then the headress, and back to where their fellows wait. Then he starts pouring the pitch around the corpses, avoiding the auras. He will then wait for Landis to set his barrel - once everything is ready, or the beast begins to stir, he will grab the headress and run back to the others.

Game = kaput.

1 - I'll ward two of us (Landis & myself?) with Hide from undead and point out where the auras are coming from, so we can avoid direct contact. I'd suggest we put one barrel in the middle, where the yellow glow is, and spread the contents of the second barrel across the pile of corpses. then we back up and let Lilo light em up.

This is of course dependant on the spell working in the first place, and making sure we don't touch anything with an aura. The rest of the bodies shouldn’t have any direct effect whether we touch them or not.

2 - As a backup plan, I'd suggest grabbing whatever is projecting auras in the room (not the light or sarcophagus) and getting out of there, so we can examine it. Assuming it doesn’t melt our brains, of course.

Game = kaput.

“I can also cast it later, to give you some concealment - enough to get out of the blast area, anyway. It will still know you are there somewhere, but not exactly. Just don’t touch them while the spell is active.”

Game = kaput.

"I can ward two of us from the undead - that should buy you some time to set up the barrels, as long as you don't come into contact with the corpses yourself."

Game = kaput.

Lilo? Can you do it then?

Maenir is stunned by his first try, but then is able to retain concentration the second time, although the head ache is insane. He detects 5 auras in the room: overpowering from the sarcophagus, strong from the yellow glowing thing, and three faint auras scattered about among the debris and corpses of the room.

What kind of magic?

I must have missed something earlier - there is a sarcophagus?

Game = kaput.

I’ll try again with detect magic - assume I will keep trying until I make it.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 71d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 201d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 241d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 141d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Game = kaput.

"Hopefully, I can buy us some time to set them up - I may be able to prevent it from noticing one or two of us."

Game = kaput.

I’ve updated my spells for the new day.

“So, we’re going back in, are we? And to think, I almost ended up on one of the other crews - how boring that would have been!”

Must… resist urge… to tease Canadian…

Game = kaput.

"I may have a way to get a few of us in close enough without waking it up… I‘ll know more when we go back to the cave."

Game = kaput.

LOL - nice.

Game = kaput.

Maenír might try again if we go back, but he’ll let his headache pass, first.

Game = kaput.

Does anyone have Tylenol?

Game = kaput.

I’ve tried it 3 times, but never got any description of it. Not really worried about it.

Game = kaput.

I'm assuming I failed on the other two as well - If a 20 won’t do it, then I guess I'm just not going to find out.

Game = kaput.

Do I get any kind of sense of what kind of magic is causing me so much pain?

Game = kaput.

Before we go, I’ll give Detect Magic one more shot.

Concentrating on the glowing mass, Maenír casts Detect Magic, trying to decipher what it is, and what sort of magic it uses - or perhaps what magic created it.

Will Save:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Oh, okay - pain, then.

"I'll bet that glowing thing is the source of their power". "If we could somehow get in there undetected, and destroy that thing, I'll bet we could end the threat without taking on that monstrosity".

"I might be able to help you out there - let’s head back to camp, and rest. We can revisit the problem in the morning."

Game = kaput.

"Pity... looks like it would have put up a good fight."

Game = kaput.

"What are you doing, Rommin - buying that thing an ale? Quit flirting and get down from there!"

Game = kaput.

I will delay my action for now.

Game = kaput.

"Valon possess me! What is this monstrosity?”

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Game = kaput.

Seeing Landis‘ hand pass through the illusory wall, Maenír casts Light on one of his arrows, and jams it into the ground at the portal.

Game = kaput.

"So, you think that the light - whatever it is - killed them?"

Game = kaput.

"What a… (ugh) …wonderful smell. I assume that‘s the reason we are down here?", Maenír says, pointing toward the yellow light.

Game = kaput.

”Let’s head back to that other passage. It appears that there is nothing here.”

Move to A-17

Game = kaput.

Perception:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Maenír investigates the center of the room, at its lowest point. Unless he finds something, he will suggest heading back to try another path.

Game = kaput.

Anyone else?

Maenír retrieves two scrolls of Cure Light Wounds to heal Landis.

roll:
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 21d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Game = kaput.

Does anyone have any injuries that need attending?

Game = kaput.

Personally, I'd worry more about those zombunnies.

Game = kaput.

"Yeah, that still really hurts… Just checking."

Game = kaput.

Double-tap the zombie?

Maenír casts Detect Magic to try get a sense of what lies ahead.

Game = kaput.

Maenír continues to move into a flanking position (if possible) and strikes at the un-Beargle with his rapier.

Round 3:
Attack:1d20 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 1 + 1 + 2 = 18*
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Game = kaput.

He will try to move around the beast to a flanking position across from Rommin or Landis, if possible.

Game = kaput.

Maenír casts Guidance on Lilo.

Game = kaput.

Maenír casts Guidance on Rommin.

Game = kaput.

"Well, now that the undead vermin are… re-dead, shall we continue on?"
