Macharius breaks into a sprint, unlimbering his axe as he barges into the shrine.
Macharius grins as the hobgoblin sentry dies. "...good. Let's go."
Trading Post to Shrine: Macharius' knuckles tighten on the grip of his axe.
"...never used a bow. Give me one now." He growls, his free hand held out.
Trading Post: Macharius finishes butchering the carcasses outside and returns just in time to hear Reknar.
"...works for me."
Trading Post: Macharius nods in thanks before handing the buckler off to someone else.
He then moves to take his woodcutter's axe to the slaughtered animal carcasses outside.
His inexperience shows through--he's a woodcutter by trade, not a hunter.
Trading Post: Macharius points at the raised bit of floor.
"What's down there? More provisions?"
Trading Post: Macharius sneers at the hobgoblin he killed and spits on its corpse.
He then moves to follow Reknar.
Trading Post: Macharius turns and races across the roof, jumping down to bury his axe in a hob's skull!
Trading Post: Macharius draws his axe and starts trying to stamp out the fire on the roof, using his woodcutter axe to chop away the burning pieces of thatchery.
Trading Post: Macharius grabs the burning iron and throws it off the roof.
"HOBS! SOUTH SIDE!" He then calls out before raising his sword!
Trading Post: Macharius grunts and stows his shield before trying to climb onto the roof.
Macharius stiffens for a moment before nodding. "...got it." "I'm not the quietest, but I'll fight like hell."
Macharius nods. "Ready to move."
Macharius stows his axe and draws his sword. ...family lives on the outskirts. They'd have had enough time to run.
Macharius rolls his eyes, not pretending to understand Goblin. "Not the best choice of last words." He growls before swinging his axe again.
Macharius lets out a mix of a gasp and a grumble as the hobgoblins make their presence known. "...just wanted a damn drink..." He grouses before getting up from his seat, woodcutting axe in hand. Quietly, he was glad the habit of always being armed and armored while working finally paid off. He steps up alongside Valtyra and swings his axe at the hobgoblin in front of him!
Alrighty then. I'm open to whatever other ideas you can come up with. I like that idea.
Macharius starts his day by trying to sleep in an extra half-hour due to nightmares keeping him up for most of the night. He eventually manages to drag himself out of bed, suit up, eat a quick breakfast and go out into the woods to find a good enough tree to harvest for lumber. He pursues his task with dogged persistence, finding one and hacking it down with a few good strikes of his axe. There's a moment where he has to stop as the scar on his chest briefly flares with pain, but it passes soon enough and he resumes his work. Soon, he's rewarded with the sound of bark splitting and toppling to the ground, along with the smell of freshly-cut wood. Dragging the modestly-sized tree back to his home, he begins the process of methodically sawing it into more manageable chunks of firewood. Some of it will remain at home for his personal use--the rest will go to Phaendar. Eventually, as the day concludes, he finds himself wandering to the Taproot Inn for his nightly libations.
Alrighty then. I'm open to whatever other ideas you can come up with.
Ah. In that case, I'm not sure how Mac would know him...
Sorry for falling behind folks! For Connections: --Craig Lawrence could very well have targeted Macharius' sister Artemis for harassment during his punk days, and Mac could very well have been the one to smack him for it. Artemis would have forgiven him for it by now, but Mac would be leery of him in that 'my-sister-is-off-limits' kind of way. --Aelethea Callandriil: Macharius would likely have noticed her from a distance and never really felt too comfortable introducing himself to her. He does, however, appreciate her pet lynx and would love to give the beast ear scritches if he wasn't so certain it'd cost him a hand. --Tern Bismeth could very well have been a friend of Mac's father Connor. Given that they share similar views on nature (respect it, because if you don't it'll kill you without blinking an eye), it wouldn't be a stretch for Mac to regard him as 'that guy with the owl who hangs out with Dad sometimes'. He would also love to pet Pippin at some point, but he keeps that to himself. --If Reknar's a regular performer in town, Mac would be familiar with him. A bit of a distant acquaintance, but Reknar's storytelling would always get at least a chuckle out of him. --Moragul Bearskin is someone Mac could be familiar with through his mother Isidora. Given she's an ex-Warden herself, she would have heard of him fending off an owlbear from Aubrin the Green. --Valtyra Slate is someone Mac would be familiar with, given how often he's had to have his woodcutting tools replaced or repaired. While he doesn't know her too well, he'd like to get to know her more.
I'll go into possible connection details tomorrow.
Macharius would be. His family's been around Phaendar for at least ten years, if that counts.
So, for questions... 1. Google Drive is fine for maps. 2. I've been displaying my stats as such in my bio for a long time now; it's really convenient for use in general play. 3. Pre-rolling Initiative and Perception is fine. I'd like to make my own Sense Motive and Saving Throws. 4. Can't really add anything that hasn't already been said.
