Order by name seems to change the order for some of the pathfinder lines, but that order does not seem to be strictly alphabetic.

The "outsider" type description actually answers this one.

"Unlike most living creatures, an outsider does not have a dual nature—its soul and body form one unit. When an outsider is slain, no soul is set loose. Spells that restore souls to their bodies, such as raise dead, reincarnate, and resurrection, don't work on an outsider. It takes a different magical effect, such as limited wish, wish, miracle, or true resurrection to restore it to life. An outsider with the native subtype can be raised, reincarnated, or resurrected just as other living creatures can be."

So, an Archon (like any non-native outsider) is, physically, its own soul.

Thanks, that clarifies things.

According to the description in the Bestiary (B1), Azata are created by their home plane (Elysium) from souls. However, whilst it states that Archons are created by their plane (Heaven), no souls are mentioned (although I do note that some of them are created by the transformation of virtuous spirits) - so does the plane create a soul for them or are they soulless?

Still want the Shrines & Pilgrimages, like Magical Marketplace but for divine characters.

A trilogy like the good/neutral/evil books, but for the outer planes.
A book like Blood of the elements, but only for transitory planes. So, astral, ethereal, shadow, shadow Absalom, maybe some demiplanes to fill it out.

+1 for all of these ... mostly because I really like Planes so Lord Gadigan's "A book devoted to PCs on or from various Planes" and similar would all get my vote.

I have just been looking at the downloads page ... http://paizo.com/store/downloads ... on a Firefox browser and notice:

a) Rolling over any company highlights (with an underline) all companies with the same letter.

b) Selecting '93 Games Studio (1)' or '5th Epoch Publishing (12)' displays the purchasing screen.

I think you use the racial traits in whatever way fits your character. For example, I have a pfs half orc arcanist raised by the Order of the Godclaw. She traded darkvision for skilled and the backstory was that the nuns kept a light spell going in her room to prevent her from developing darkvision but she would sneak books under the covers.

Simularly, she has sacred tatoo, which can be defined as scarification. She has a back that looks like the old pictures of slaves and takes inspiration from surviving the nuns beating her half to death on a regular basis.

What an interesting back story. I may use this as an NPC when I GM.

As an experienced roleplayer I had come to the conclusion that the racial traits needed tweeking for particular backgrounds - however Half-Orc was the only race whose traits stood out as being not applicable to the background most PCs would have, the other races seem fine.

The alternate racial traits in ARG will fix most of these issues.

Thanks. I will have to look at that.

The Half-Orc Racial Traits seem to be a mix of genetic abilities (i.e. those they are born with) and abilities that they must be taught. This causes problems if the PC has not lived their life in the appropriate environment.

In CRB Page 25 it states that Half-Ocs are proficient with greataxes and falchions and treat any weapon with the word “orc” in its name as a martial weapon. Whilst a Half-Orc who spent their early life among Orcs could certainly pick-up these skills, how does a Half-Orc living among humans 'naturally' become proficient with a weapon that they would not have any experience of? May I suggest that, from their background, an unarmed ability would be more reasonable for Half-Orcs who lived among humans; and a wilderness skill for Half-Orcs who lived a more outcast life?

A similar problem occurs with their bonus languages for high Intelligence. If Abyssal and Draconic are not, somehow, part of their genetic make-up; how does a Half-Orc in human lands get contact with these languages to learn them? Whilst Half-Orcs who live among humans could learn languages that are spoken in the local area, I cannot think of appropriate bonus languages for those who were outcast. Any ideas?

Spotted today - which may help find the error - that selecting 'Last' on the House Rules messageboard shows a full screen of messages, but at the bottom of the screen it says ... 14,401 to 14,408 of 14,408 ... which must be incorrect as far more than 8 messages are shown.

Double checked this today and the 'last' dates have changed from what they were yesterday!

The last message for the Pathfinder RPG' messageboard has changed from ... Mar 2, 2010, 04:56 am ... to the earlier date of ... Feb 28, 2010, 05:51 pm

The last message for the 'Rules Questions' messageboard has changed from ... Dec 9, 2009, 05:51 am ... to the slightly later (but still earlier than the 'RPG' date) of ... Dec 10, 2009, 05:28 pm

Double strange.

I am about to work my way through the messageboards and have noted the following quirk.

On the 'Pathfinder RPG' messageboard the 'last' button shows a final entry of Mar 2, 2010, 04:56 am ... however the last button of the 'Rules Questions' messageboard (a subset) shows a later date of Dec 9, 2009, 05:51 am.

Not a big thing, just strange.
