Updated my profile with a completed build, however I'm still not sure if my first level bonus feat should be TWF or precise strike. Also no statblock for Ysmeralda yet but more on her below...

I just saw you knew nothing about the Carnivalist Rogue (which is forgivable as it's rather obscure) so I just wanted to give you a quick run down of what the idea behind the build was even though you seem more interested in flavor than mechanics.

What I'm trying to do with Lukain is to set my familiar, Ysmeralda the Bilge Rat, up as a flanking partner for Lukain. On the one hand this allows me more control over a key class feature (Sneak attack) on the other hand Ysmeralda shares Lukain's Sneak attack progression and is small sized so she threatens, meaning Biting Bilge rats are actually a good thing... To make this even more OP (humor) Ysmeralda takes the Valet familiar Archetype (also from Animal Archive) which gives here all Teamwork feats Lukain has. So once Lukain has picked up Precise strike and Outflank the two of them are one hell of a tag team.

I originally built this character for a higher level RoTR game I was applying too. I think the backstory would however still be workable at level 1.

I've been looking for a game for Lukain for a while now this one might fit the bill.

Lukain is a redeemed scumbag who sat in prison too long and now follows the way of the Dawnflower. I think the build in this alias is level 4 or so but could easily be updated. Basic concept behind the build is to make the Carnivalist Rogue Archetype work by building a familiar flanking friend. I think at level 7 he would aim to pick up a Mephit familiar.

Interested. Will be submitting a Carnivalist Rogue. Have to downgrade the build to third level and rewrite background a bit.

Basic idea is that of a former varisian crook who after spending much time in prison has corrected his ways and is looking to redeem himself in the eyes of the Dawnflower, however he is held in check by his habits.

This sounds very interesting. Lukain here was created for a Curse of the Crimson Throne game but not selected. I'd prolly rebuild him slightly removing the daggermaster Archetype to maintain trapfinding and then also apply to that role. He already has three NPCs with whom he'd be affiliated so that part would fit quite well.

The confusion might arise as in your opener you mentioned we should select a campaign Trait from Varisia birthplace of Heroes.

Now that Lamm is dead does it make any sense at all for us to choose a CotCT Campaign trait?

An example of how to assign stats to a Rogue under 15 point buy... sure I'd prefer 5 more points but this is totally workable...
