F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

She introduced herself as Shalindril the librarian, and said she watches over the sleepers, though she wouldn’t elaborate. She also said that Bane would win, it’s too late, and we get either serve Bane or die. Presumably that’s why she was so open to strangers about her service to Bane.” Luile recounts.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

”Getting some of the more trustworthy locals to surreptitiously investigate and keep watch wherever the military is not. The enemy likely has many eyes on the military and it’s movements, as well as on other high authorities. So getting some locals to look into things discreetly have a better chance of being in the right place at the right time to find something. Of course, I’m hardly a tactician or a leader.” Luile speaks calmly, as if discussing tea or something.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

The storm totally screwed things up here and aside from the power outage and blocked roads, I am looking at working more doubles as we need to catch up at work. And with more storm coming this weekend…

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

”I doubt it will be an army. Subtlety and attacks from within seem far more likely, especially when the defenders are focused on defending against armies.” interjects Luile.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

Sorry to see you go, have a good new years and good gaming.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

”I’ve always lived among the elves, so perhaps I am simply too used to it to be amazed, but it is indeed beautiful.”[b]

[b]”But I am here on a serious task. Some foresight says that Cormanthyr’s total destruction is nigh. My companions and I were tasked with investigating why, and if possible, averting this doom. And upon our arrival to this town, a demon worshipper openly admitted to such right before she attacked us in her own shop, with nary a provocation. We were thinking that some measures should taken if the enemy is so brazen.” Luile says calmly, and in elvish as an obvious native speaker, though her accent may seem unfamiliar, or perhaps that is just because she is a kobold.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

Luile simply walks up, knocks, and enters. Town halls usually being both where town councils meet and thus public spaces, the knock to announce herself just in case.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

I’m back. I let the DM know in another game of his that I’m in, but I didn’t really go around to every game to spread the word, so I’m sorry for that, but I was unexpectedly taking double work shifts, and being fast paced physical labor work, I was barely functional for awhile. Heck I just finished 12 hours straight of sleep, literally.

In any case I can start keeping up again. Next time, don’t be afraid to bot me if needed, I don’t want everyone else being stuck waiting because I’m dealing with real life.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

”Well then hurry up. We’re burning daylight.” she says with a toothy grin, knowing that taking one’s time is normally the elven way, but this is probably not an enemy to deal with slowly.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

Up to me then I see.

Once she is finished with her tea and small talk. Luile will head off in search of the mayor, starting with the town hall.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

What time of day is it? It’s still early if I recall correctly.

”Well, sounds like a plan. Should we find him after this, or wait till morning?” she asks as she sips her tea.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

”Naturally. So, what can you tell us about the mayor?” Luile asks as she fidgets, running her fingers over her glove, tracing the various intricate patterns.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

”Indeed. We will have to take some chances on that front. But that doesn’t mean we can’t be prepared for treachery.”

Luile fingered the lightning inlays on her sword hilt as she spoke.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

The inn’s door swings open for a moment, but you’d have to look down to notice the one walking through it, a short kobold, looking winded but proud as she walks in starting for the bar before she changes course as she notices some of her companions talking to a stranger.

”Hello, sorry to break in, but these are my companions and I’d like not lose them again. They seem apt to rush off in the middle of things. I’m Luile.”

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

Having caught up, and seeing the date of the last post, I’m just going to have Luile catch up to everyone where they are now.

Also, GM, how’s the purchase of Greyhawk coming? I noticed wotc is putting it in the 2024 DMG, and that sounds like either a big obstacle or a big boon for you.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

I can come back if you need another player. I’m not ready to rejoin all my old games, but I think I can handle one more.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

”Well, as you can see miss librarian, the success of your little cult is much less than it may at first seem. So, what’s in the basement?”

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

”Send these imps back where they belong, or we’ll send them there the painful way.” Luile commands the librarian, though she is holding the one she fought by the scruff to prevent it from escaping anywhere other than back to it’s home realm.

Oh, well I think that’s plus 2 to my second attack, and plus 1 dmg. :)

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

Smite!: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 181d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Luile whips her blade around in a blaze of blue and strikes again.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

Kel, 4 ranks (or with pf1, 1 rank plus the class skill bonus), is basically equal to a bachelors degree in said topic. So I would say you know more than a little bit. It’s also the reason I dislike pf1 doing class skill bonus like this, as it removes all the knowledge levels below a bachelors degree for class skills.

who are we waiting for?

Quote GM: Now just waiting on Kemian and Strigh.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

I’m thinking we should set a time limit of waiting on players. I don’t mind the slower pace, but I feel that getting too slow may just result in others to ghost the game as well.

I suggest a three day limit, after three days we move on.

You can check my profile (click my name) and tell me if you like the layout. If so I’ll dig up my blank, but that’ll have to wait till tomorrow.

Again, new to the board, is there a template CS for PF1 that I can C/P and fill in?

I’ve got a couple.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

Smite Evil Longsword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 191d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Luile rolls with imp’s attack and swings her gleaming longsword around to strike at the imp with all the force she can muster, which is far more than what one would expect from a kobold, much less one of her size.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

Luile wonders what makes this librarian so confident, and figures that either the librarian is actually a very experienced combatant, or has allies nearby. Thus, Luile looks around for places her allies might appear, or that she might run through to escape, and moves to block such a path if she finds one, otherwise she hops up to the top of the shelves.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

"You have not given any compelling reason to serve Bane, and no servant of the divine is worthy if they serve merely out of fear of death." Luile says, still calmly, as she draws out a very fine blade, as blue as her own scales and glowing. "Threatening me with death is not a wise move, plus I have companions. Your only chance now is to surrender."

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

"It sounds to me like you are traitor to this community and country. Do you agree? If so, why have the people here let you stay?" Luile asks as calmly as if discussing the weather.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

"Never said we would even try. But I find it odd you would be open about being a traitor. The people here are just perfectly happy to have an enemy running their library?" Luile asks, keeping things cordial, not looking to start a fight just yet, especially since the lady seems rather nice and cordial herself so far.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

"Bane and Tiamat have no place in this realm, even if their followers came to rule. Do you mean to work against the realm in favor of these other beings?" Luile asks politely.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

"Secret books hmm. Well you keep your secret books. Is there any good books on sorcery?" Luile inquires.

Luile seems to drop it for now, but she keeps an eye open for how one might get to the basement in case they need to secretly investigate later.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

"What do you do with the basement? Do you keep wine and cheese down there?" Luile asks, sounding interested and not quite excited.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

Up to me I see.

Luile asks the librarian about this unusual building, why it's on the ground, and if it has a basement as well.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

Luile is instantly excited to find books and starts looking around like a kid in a candy shop, an image only helped by being brightly colored and small, though she does take a moment to detect evil as well.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

"We are in the middle of town. What, you think there are hidden guards waiting to just kill anyone that gets close? They probably have half of all people that pass through here show interest in it, just out of curiosity."

Luile just strides up to the building openly, looking for any sign that it might be a shop or workshop of some sort. If it seems like a public building, she'll walk inside, otherwise she'll knock on the door.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

The My Little Pony that Faust made has a library inside a tree in the middle of ponyville, where one of the main characters lives along with a young dragon (they call him a baby dragon, but the character is not a baby, so no idea what's up with that) ghat she takes care of.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

If any young purple dragons show up, I'm calling him Spike and nothing you say will change my mind. :)

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

A tree with a house? Sure it's not a library?

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

"Well, there is something unpleasant here. Might be nothing, might be something. But I can feel it's presence." Luile remarks as looks into the village.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

Luile thanks the cart driver as she hops off the cart. She joins Kel as the guards walk up, and starts to speak but falls silent as Kel asks basically the same thing she intended to ask. She also uses Detect Evil just in case.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

I agree with moving forward. I'm kinda out of small talk. And while I'm all for sandbox, I do feel we have been a little light on the gm prompting and moving forward.

"They make cheese there, elven cheese," said Alaion. "It's good cheese. You should try some!"

"Are there cheesy jokes as well?" Luile asks with a grin as she digs out her waterskin for a drink.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

"I hope they have a good bath there. I could use one. And I need to see if they have any good oil for my scales." the little kobold says while picking at a rough spot.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

"That sounds great, although why is a kobold traveling with elves?" asks Alaion.

"Actually I was raised by elves. From what I've read, kobolds take special eggs like mine to mountaintop monasteries to learn how to fly and make use of our wings. But a few elves ran into some goblins that apparently had killed whatever kobolds were taking my egg to the mountains. One of them kept my egg out of curiosity of what was in it, and I hatched on their way to the city. Thankfully they didn't kill me and instead raised me." Luile replied, cheerfully telling her tale.

"We shall see little kobold," says Alaion. "People say he already knows how to craft Magic Arms and Armor. He just has trouble with making swords with that flare Faveral had."

"I see. I myself am learning enchantment as well. I even enchanted my blade myself, though there are still more enchantments I'll be adding to it." Luile says with pride.

F Kobold Pal1/Sor4

That's saying that every elf is a 10th level character before reaching adulthood, which would mean that every elf is a 10+ level character, except us. Which also means that we are not only not heroes, but that we are the retarded children that couldn't keep up.

I mean I'm fine with whatever, it's just one of those plotholes I notice easily.
