M Anglo Australian

It has been going so long I forget that I was added way back on page 6 of the adventure :)

It has been fun, but I'm unsure that pbp is for me in the long run :)

That and it is a LOT cheaper to have a +1 bow and a handful of arrows of each of:
Bane Undead
Bane Dragon
Bane Plant
Bane Demon
Bane Tracey's Mom
Holy/Unholy/Law/Chaos
etc

Than one bow with all of them on it (which isn't even possible)

Elemental damage and even more so the elemental burst weapon enchantments tend to be pretty trappy.

Actually there are plenty of trap weapon enhancements. Look at Furyborn. It only does something better than +2 on the third successive hit, and three hit's is reasonably likely to drop most creatures anyway. When you later upgrade the weapon to +5 it does nothing.

Also, the mithral shirt has no enhancement bonus listed. If you want a +1 or better enhancement bonus to your chain shirt armor, that 2.5 pound difference is worth it.
I didn't really get this. Enchanting your armor does absolutely nothing to its weight.
I don't either. There is no information in Ultimate Equipment (basically my go-to source for this kind of stuff) about it adding weight.
The mithral shirt does not have an armor bonus, while the mithral chain shirt does, thus it is worth the extra weight.

What does a mithral shirt do?

Make it hard to cast arcane spells, limit your dex to AC bonus and give you the 'armoured' property.
Why is this useful?

But really, level 12 is where it seems like when then sorc 5/DD build comes into it's own, that is when it gets form of the dragon I as a spell like ability.
No argument there, that's a fun class feature.

And that may be why many forum builds focus on combat with a weapon: only a single level of society play after getting the SLA

Trees are things right . . .

Isn't fishing just a subset of hunting?

Both of those do depend on what type of campaign you are in. But the are both close to universal. I'd go with ghost touch first, when it matters it matters a lot.

An owl dragging 75 pounds sounds like a lot as well.

For that matter an Owl carrying 10 pounds while flying with no change in flight ability sounds wrong.

So the rouge is spending 6 seconds actively listening, what is everyone else doing in that 6 second? Wouldn't they also try to listen?

+2 to one attack and a larger crit range will be significantly better. And it free's up a feat. A feat that you are later going to want for Improved Critical. (getting lots and lots of crits is one of the prime reasons to go TWF)

With three full on heavy melees why not go full caster? Something like Oracle/Wizard or Oracle/Summoner. Use the devine class for precombat buffs and healing, the arcane for battle field control.

Don't say they hear nothing on a low roll. Say they hear a goblin having a bath. They open the door, it's a raging giant demon squid sloshing around.

What about an essentially reversed form of t-rex style, something about attacking things larger than your self.

Things that supported the position all along:
* 8 RP points is a lot to spend and not get a big pay off. Clearly the people writing that costing expected this pay off
* Monsters do follow the rules mostly. This rule was pretty clearly in the mind of every developer of a humanoid monster with many arms.
* Logic. Pathfinder rules are mostly logical and sensible. Yes they get into weird corners, but that is the nature of simplification.

Synthesist summoner with custom archtype that makes the eidolon possessed requiring that the controller make a will check to drop suit or not attack.

Edit: For extra flavour the archtype has -4 to will saves and then characters do everything they can to improve their will save. Multiclassing into monk, etc.

Lantzkev, what do you think the very heavily costed feature is meant to give? remember it's 8 points to get a pair of extra arms and that is the limit.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Clearly the intent is that a 4 armed race can attack with 4 weapons using the "two" weapon fighting rules.

Why the other options people mentioned don't let you get lots and lots of attacks:
* Toothy: is a natural weapon which can't be used in 2WF (or flurry without that special feat)
* Armor Spikes: have a clause mentioning they can't be used (as an offhand attack) if you've already made an off hand attack, and vice versa.
* Flurry: explicitly says one extra attack.

One other time though the new player took a two hour bus ride to the house we played at, but when our host got to the door and saw him he lied and told the poor guy we had cancelled the game. Apparently the guy was very obviously highly socially awkward type. Sending him away was probably passive and cruel, but our host's decision saved the rest of us the trouble of rejecting him later. Gamer meet-ups are a bit more reliable for finding players.

Really? You're happy with wasting 4 hours of some guys time and dismissing him on the say so of one guy's 2 second impression.

Unless we are talking that he had a ski mask on and was holding a dripping machette that is a terrible way to treat another human.

Particularly one that you suspect has difficulty in social settings.

I hope you all chip in and buy him some therapy!

Multiclassing two 3/4 classes isn't simple a Bard 1 / Rogue 1 has a BAB of +0.

Also your progression is funky.

1 Ftr 1
2 Ftr 2
3 Brd 2 (what do you mean by the 2 here? is that meant to be BAB? I'm guessing it is)
4 Brd 3
5 Ftr 4
6 Brd 5
7 Ftr 6
8 Brd 7
9 Ftr 8
10 Brd 9 (so at this level the character is a Fighter 5 / Bard 5, Fighter supplies +5 for BAB, and Bard just +3 giving you a BAB of +8)
11 Brd 10
12 Brd 11
13 Brd 11
14 Brd 12 (Fighter 5 / Bard 9 gives a BAB of +11)
15 Brd 13
16 Brd 14
17 Brd 14
18 Brd 15

*And have a god find him

It is sort of hand waved weather or not the god break the Barbarians leg or if it gets broken some other way.

A link would be handy. I have no idea what your talking about.

What I do know is that a "pole" is a long length of solid material, and a "poll" is where you tally up many peoples opinions.

remember that mid combat your likely to be unwilling to drop defensive stance, so a bow or something for when the enemies have moved away from you is a good idea.

The only questions for this archtype to me when building my char was which weapon to give the pet. I like reach weapons so I went with a boarding pike :)

Granny should probably have custom feats giving her a bonus to intimidate and bluff equal to the combined total of class level and all three mental stats. Along with skill focus and max skill points on them both.

At absolute worst he can do it for what, 6 rounds / day? Doesn't sound all that broken.

Should bombs be light weapons when thrown or one handed?

Temporary abilities bonuses affect a limited range of things, permanent ones affect everything (including spells known, etc)

The Pit fiend can constrict the radius of safe air to only his reach so if the Zen archer wishes to be able to shoot him he needs to get into melee range of the Pit Fiend.

So One walks up and starts shooting his bow. What makes you think that was the coup de grace? The Pit Fiend still needs natural 20's to hit the guy, so he can stand toe to toe with the Pit Fiend and not be tomato paste

Definitely take toughness to bump your HP.

The natural armour option is 3RP, the light sensitivity is -1RP.

Those two were the only two I could find direct RP costs for. As options are good I'm going to suggest that the deformities should cost 3RP.

Gaining STR to damage for a ranged monk isn't going to be a good deal. A ranged monk is going to want to pump dex, it's a large part of wanting to be a ranged monk: less MAD.

All monks should have a couple of shuriken on them, they are great for the last couple of flurry attacks after you've run out of adjacent enemies and one would expect to get STR to damage on them.

If using the Race Builder to make a half ogre, what would a sensible RP cost be for the deformities? Presuming that the player gets to choose the deformities of their choice.

In the resonance chamber I focus on the question of where the longer tunnels lead.

Get my GM to give me a god with favoured weapon pistol and dip cleric and go the monastic training to make the pistol a monk weapon. Then make sure using a reliable weapon with alchemical cartidges and quick reload to get off lots and lots of shots.

The whole point of an exotic saddle is to make a normally unrideable creature rideable.

Going from 17+/x3 (8 dots) to 16+/x4 (15 dots) is a big jump in dpr. Which is probably fine at that level. Maybe stagger it more so you never increase range and multiplier at the same time.

I'm a bigger fan of adding more extreme layers to the alignment system. A demon is evil in ways regular people really need to work hard to achieve. So levels called angelic, infernal would be good. I have trouble thinking about law/chaos in the same way though.

If you think swapping Divine Grace for Divine Armour is fair, let them do it then :)

Someone with good sewing skills should be able to take the current one and re cut and sew it to something more to your liking, if there is enough spare cloth (always order a size or two to big when you suspect you'll want to do this)

To just one type of bane, or to all banes?

Ahh, yes I did, sorry Rynjin. I saw that others had brought up the 1x STR stuff.

I forgot that I asked was he adding other things into the calc without explaining where they came from (dragon style)

I would more like to see the numbers for a Temple Sword Monk V TWF Fighter.

Let him know it's not going to work well and let him run it. Next session he'll play something less silly.

Just don't play with people you'd think would cheat.

It becomes very unfun if you do. Having to question every single little thing done. Also it takes the mystery out, that was you also have to have the players knowing everything at some point so the can ensure the GM isn't cheating.

Does my Oracle/Paladin get to cast those under leveled Paladin spells at level 1?

Not having to make any choices about knowing or preparing situationly awesome spells like Lesser Restoration, Ghostbane Dirge or Grace (and getting them 3 or 4 levels early) is pretty serious.

Also who cares if you can cast 1000 spells per day, there are only so many combat rounds to cast them in.

In your system Wizard/Sorcerer is at a disadvantage to pretty much any Wizard/(spontaneous 2/3rd or 1/3rd arcane caster) because you get better extra abilities.

That encourages more interesting gestalt builds, I like.

This does mean a Cleric/Inquisitor can cast any spell from either list at any time right? Talk about choice paralysis.
Or the better version of that'd be Oracle/Paladin, awesome at combat and any spell on a whim.

Murder is always Unlawful. Religion and law don't always match.

highly recommended feat: reach spell, very handy for staying where you want to use your bow from and still doing the healer thing.

I haven't had much trouble hitting or killing things yet so I'm looking to boost weapons asap.

You have a logic issue there, if you have no trouble hitting/killing things then you don't need to boost your weapons.

And you've left out the expanded options from the free PDF: Barbarian

32 Meg for a editable PDF, you might want to play with that some more . . .

The extra max dex is goign to make it a very good option for many characters before the "free" +1 (it's not really free to match a +1 Elven Chain you'll be more expensive, but then you need +2 Elven Chain to match the Kikko if you have 22+ Dex)
