After spending the first day ashore scouting the area and helping to secure a basecamp, Lord Meadowlark begins documenting the local flora and fauna to judge the surrounding environs for potential farming efforts. During the day he rides his regal hound "Fletcher" inland, plotting the lay of the land and gathering any native fruits or vegetables. He also hunts small game if an opportunity presents itself, but for the time being he utilizes stealth, refraining from contact with dangerous predators and monsters if at all possible.

Pungent smoke curled in to the air around the halflings head. The young lord took several long draws from his elaborate pipe as he surveyed the remains of their shattered armada from a nearby outcropping.

We have arrived and it seems we will not be returning any time soon. Time for us to rally and count the blessings of our bountiful patron. These fertile fields located in close proximity to the coast will yield healthy crops, but first we must tame the land.

2nd action - Defend - Perception - 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Ahhhh.... Thank Erastil my prayers have been answered!

Good to hear from ya Evil Ginger, I knew you would show up sooner or later. Don't let the RL issues get ya down, we'll still be here when you are ready.

Lord Meadowlark gazes deeply into the sky, "Blessed Old Deadeye, please send us an agent of your divine will to guide us through this maelstrom of chaos we call existence." With a smile, Cobbledarn turns to the others. "I'm sure he will answer my querry shortly, Erastil cannot let this dungeon go uncontested!"

Couple of weeks sounds good. I'll be happy to RP in the meanwhile :)

"Ahh the song of gifted brothers. So annointed must I be. Have we the day to dig away our worries? Clanking spades and the powder of earth stirs me to such glee. Alas we will be to Tian' Xia by the morn at this rate fine gents, let us unite our shovels and defeat this wicked mudhole, the will of Erastil speeds our burrowing!"

Lord Meadowlark really throws his back into his work, as much as he can with his modest strength anyway. Although he might seem ingenuine he truly feels imbued and takes to the hard labor with a sense of divine responsibility.

As Bottle offers his wineskin, Cobb politely refuses with a gesture of his hand. "No thanks Bottle, I wanna stay sharp for this and ale goggles usually make a dungeon look much more desirable than it truly is... And besides, I must admit my vice is the pipe. I've got a few scraps of Flayleaf I've been saving for the fire after a long day of dungeoneering. Widow's Web, Red Wizard, and Dragonfruit just to name a few of my favorite hybrids. Do you partake?"

Grabbing the extra shovel Cobbledarn begins to dig as the discussion between he and Bottle continues. "Sure is good to see a merry band of adventurers have come to disarm such a deadly dungeon. If I haven't already said it you all deserve high praise for your courage in this endeavor. A dungeon like this one could attract and potentially kill many would be thrill seeking innocents... Better to disarm it now and save lives. Blessings of Erastil be upon us!"

A griffon circles low over the mound bearing a regal knight of a small stature, his gleaming breastplate reflecting the rays of the midday sun. As the feathered steed comes to a landing not far from you, the halfling knight dismounts with some grace, displaying his obvious prowess at riding. Approaching cautiously, the halfling smiles... "Good day sirs, I'm Lord Cobbledarn Meadowlark, friends call me Cobb. I've traveled here from my hunting lands to the south. Tell me, why are you all digging? Have you found a secret entrance to the dungeon rumored to be in this area? If so, let me be any assistance I can. I haven't a spade, but I'm willing to take a shift."

As the party digs, Cobb will make small talk and get to know the names of everyone if possible.

Lord Cobbledarn Meadowlark reporting for duty. Let me know if I need to fill in any of the finer details or if there are any necessary changes to the character for play. Heading to the game thread now.
