I have heard a lot of fussing over the PFS and SFS scenarios. There IS another way. Become a Venture Agent and host weekly games at your favorite game shop. Those who do this gain access to ALL PFS and SFS Scenarios free, so long as they are active. Even if you decide to stop, those you got prior are still yours to keep. it's a great way to support Pathfinder and Starfinder Society in your area and get some free scenarios at the same time.
GenCon isn't even here yet and already I'm getting inundated with requests to run SFS2e scenarios on Foungry VTT as soon as I get home. I love the idea, but there's an issue. I could run it under PF2e with the SF2e playtest, but that's nowhere near what will be really needed to run or play SF2E. I wonder if there's anyone out there working on getting 2e into Foundry and other VTTs.
None official yet, but....
Sort of a mixed bag for me. Due to group timetables, I'm forced to run this on Foundry VTT. Unfortunately, a lot of Starfinder is lacking in support there. I got halfway through converting the first scenario and discovered the System glitched and wasn't allowing the creation of New, unique NPCs. It has almost killed my ability to run it on there. (Still working out some ideas, but we'll see. I have to say that this trio of adventures looks like it will be a blast to run, but without VTT support I might have to shelve it for a future live game (which I prefer, but isn't an option right now.) I really hope that Starfinder 2e offers VTT support. So much stuff I want to run and play, so few places to do it.

I do have plans to publish under ORC rules, but probably falling under the rules for Pathfinder Infinite. If they don't have the Mimic any longer, I might just have to create something new.
I see a lot of changes, but there's one I worry about. The Mimic is listed as Legacy content. Did it get the axe as well? I had been working on an adventure for 2e that uses them. Also, Starfinder will do a good job replacing the Doppleganger. They have the AStrazoan, which does almost everything the Doppleganger does.
I like both of them and hope that both continue to be an asset to Liberty's Edge. My vote though must go to Karisa Starsight. Between her training and balanced ways of thinking, she will be able to unite us all and hold us to act in a manner which coincides with the purpose which made the creation of Liberty's Edge a neccesity. I almost feel bad posting yet another complaint about the binding in the Starfinder CRB, but I really enjoy the game and the last thing I want is to start losing pages. Like many others, my book is suffering from the Soft white inner lining separating. The cover is still attached for now, but the book makes horrible cracking noises as the white part continues to detach from the pages. This book was purchased from my local game shop, the Gamer's Haven, in Spokane Valley, WA on the day of release. After reading several posts that suggested to do so, I opted to post here. Anything that can be done to remedy this would be appreciated, Thanks.
According to my local Venture Captain, the missing link is tied to a planned update to include a n Organized play link of some sort, which will likely include Starfinder Society. In the meantime, my simple fix was, once I managed to access it from another route (which have been already discussed here and elsewhere) I simply drag & dropped the webpage link (up top) to my desktop and created a shortcut that goes directly to the My society page. It could probably be bookmarked as well, but mine are full. It's an option until things are back to "normal" on the site. (I just wish they could fix the lag problems. this site is pretty slow at time, especially in the downloads section, but this is a topic for another thread)
I have a question regarding this map and other similar ones done by Paizo. Are these originally hand drawn, or is a mapmaking program used? My reason for asking is because I myself am working on Pathfinder setting that plan to publish and, though I try, my mapmaking artistry is not to my level of acceptance and makers like Campaign Cartographer, while really nice, just don't seem to capture what i want either. The Golrarian maps and style is really close and I need to know if I'm either missing the right programs or the right artists.
From what I have seen working within the Society as a DM and Venture Agent, the PFS is a well rounded and streamlined program which uses a smaller number of people at the top level and delegating the work across the entire Society. This is why it is the most successful RPG OP program I have ever dealt with. (the RPGA could have learned volumes from the design of the PFS). I believe the Starfinder Society will arise and work like the PFS and the PFACG setups. This means that if it successful, more slots will open up at the bottom as needed, which the few at the top keep the gears greased and the program going in the best direction. If it turns out to be unsuccessful. the Bottom will shrink and eventually evaporate if failure seems imminent. those few at the top will move on to other projects and little will truly change at Paizo. I look forward to Starfinder and the Society tied to it and will likely either begin to alternate my games, or create an entirely separate night, just as I have tried to do with the ACG. I also look forward to the book to see if I truly can use it to add Spelljammer to my home game.
I have seen mentions of the Gnomish Switch Scythe and even had one player purchase one, however, I can find no stats, price, or anything, other than a short blurb stating that is has a hideable folding blade. (Gnomes of Golarion). There are no stats in the book, but yet ever the Pathfinder Society rules it allowable. Despite this, I find myself very tempted to ban it among my groups, simply because they can't purchase something that don't have a price for (and if it's treated the same as a normal scythe, why would anyone ever buy a normal scythe?). By the rules of the society, you must supply statistics, but yet the PRD, Gnomes of Golarian, and even the PFSRD (which isn't society legal anyway) have nothing. Any thoughts or suggestions on where I might find the errata or stats on the item? It didn't make it into the Ultimate Equipment Guide either. |
