Yeah that was interesting, there are NPC classes and then there is the commoner. An adept has a better will save, more class skills, spellcasting abilities, is proficient with more weapons, and gets a familiar at level 2. I think there is almost no incentive at all to pick commoner over adept.

How are we going to level up? More levels in NPC classes or are we going to evolve into PC classes eventually?

Totally forgot +2 for being a half elf. Fine math at work there.

Decided to go with half-elf, assuming that's ok since it's a core race.

Shamans are freaking complicated. Got all the crunch done, working on the backstory now. But I have never seen such a ridiculous perception score on a level 1 character.

1 (rank) + 3 (trained class skill) + 3 (wis) + 3 (skill focus from half-elf) + 2 (alertness granted by familiar) + 1 (trait) = 15

She also adds another 3 if she's in bright light. Combine that with her familiar's +14...yeah she notices things.

What races are allowed?

I'll stick with the first one since I'm going pure caster shaman. It will end up being slightly better since all of my level up stats are going to be thrown into wisdom. If I was going cleric I would pick the second one for the potential of multiple 16 stats. Expect the character in a few hours.

Dotting for interest. What are the character creation rules and what is the current party makeup, specifically?

Submitting Logan Baccus for your consideration. He started a campaign but it recently fell out from under him, and I was very sad to see it go as I was really liking where I was going with the character.

Logan is a water born barbarian who got lucky and became a pirate captain (see background). However he recently has felt sick (he's going to multiclass into oracle then prestige into rage prophet) and is traveling to land, searching for anybody that might know whats wrong with him.

Logan will start out as a frontline melee DPS, eventually turning into a secondary healer and buffer

I'm sure we're all anxious for the decision to be made, but we don't want to rush you DM.

As far as the number of players, my favorite number is 5. Even though 4 can technically cover all the general areas in a group, their is usually a gap that a fifth player fills. So I prefer 5, but 4 is totally fine as well

Oh also keep in mind, even though I'm a frontline DPS I'm actually not a bad 'face'. Since I'll be going into oracle for rage prophet I got a respectable CHA score

I love long adventure paths, gets you really deep character development

Also I plan on picking up some healing when I multiclass into oracle. I'll be mostly buff/healing spells since it's hard to maintain a high DC for offensive spells if you're not focused on it

GM, can you give me a brief breakdown of Sandpoint and the Swallowtail Festival? I'm a fairly experienced player, but mostly from homebrew campaigns

I think we're waiting on the DM to feel inspired again. Honestly I'm fine with waiting, I really like this character. And I would rather have him take his time and come up with a good campaign than rush it

no worried DM, rather have a high quality slow moving campaign instead of one that's being rushed

"Oh please, I've probably had women bite me harder!" he says with a a laugh. After a few minutes of swimming Logen sits floating on his back Oh I miss the old blue. Logen eventually gets out and helps make lunch

Well I'm sorry to hear that. I know how it goes though, sometimes you just get distracted and dont put enough time in. I'm actually in a way of the wicked game right now (the fall of andoran) and I wouldn't wanna double it up lol

Logen bares his teeth as the arrows come down, moving too slow to block the one that went for Mirela "Fine ye little green runts" he roars and charges at the nearest one

In a good mood from their welcome at the small village, Logen walks next to Darius with one hand holding his falchion over his shoulder and another eating a hunk of bread from the village. As Mirela jumps around exploring nature Logen watches her with a bemused expression. When she inquires about him he gives her a sideways look "I thought I might be quite an asset to them with my skin color and all. More to the point, I heard there's riches if ye know who ta ask" he pauses and throws a piece of bread to a nearby bird "As for my home...perhaps you'll learn that another time" Logen seems more curious if anything towards her, but it's pretty apparent he'd rather have Darius at his back in a fight at the time.

As the sun begins reaching the horizon Logen narrows his eyes and looks around "We should settle down" after finding a suitable spot and setting up camp Logen approaches the others, and as he does you see he has his shirt off and you notice a large, ragged, multiple gashed scar across his chest "So, what are we doin for watch?"

Logen will probably sleep in the shadow of a tree if he can

Darius finds Logen leaning up against the side of the building when he exits. As Darius comes out he grunts and pushes himself off the wall to join him "So, whatcha think of the new lass? An I being serious, I meant as a comrade in arms, not the lass part" he grins "Although it's a nice perk"

Logen grins "Now don't get yer rusted codpiece in a knot"

ok, I don't think Logen has much to do except get new rations and fill his waterskin

Right before he leaves Logen turns around "What sort of supplies are we protecting? I just want to know that if some greenskin fires a hot arrow at my wagon it won't explode"

Logen arcs an eyebrow as Mirela leaves "She's pretty excited for grunt work. Aight then, see ye at the gates Darius" Logen gathers his supplies, but otherwise does nothing out of the ordinary

Logen inspects the map for a moment then nods "Easy 'nuff. Need to get the new lass's feet wet with something easy anyways"
