Offering a shy smile, Lily reaches out a hand, sending two more globes of pale green lite to fly further into the room where they stop, waiting about ten feet away from her. "I trust Pharasma will improve your luck today, Dariyia."

Lily heads out after her brother, keeping to the shadows as much as she can.
She doesn't seem overly thrilled about the idea (who would) but Lily nods, then glances out the window. "There's still some time before dark. If we're going to be staying here, I suppose I should retrieve my things and get settled in."
Lily shrugs slightly, "If there is something we need to stop from happening, I don't see that we have any choice. My only question is how we go about visiting the 'stockpile'. Shouldn't we at least ask the priests for permission before we go poking around the graveyard?"
Lily shivers as well. "As if things weren't bad enough... Still," she straightens, gathering her resolve, "If this cult is involved in things here, and they were somehow responsible for the professor's death, we have all the more reason to investigate. The question is, how much of this do we tell his daughter?"
"So then... A trip into town, as we discussed earlier, but a bit more to do than we thought."
"He does say that he isn't sure the present clergy even know the items where there, and well..." she smiles, "He does say he was only 'barrowing'"
Lily nods. "As you asked... It may also be a good idea to discover just how the professor died. His own words at least cast suspicion on it having been natural."
Lilyana Motions for Tiberious to go ahead and read as she gently lifts the locked and titless book in her hands, looking it over curiously.
Lilyana nods to Dariyia. "I think that we will definitely need to get any information that we can. There may be nothing to worry about, but at the same time, I'd rather be sure if we're going to be staying."
Lilyana clears her throat a bit as Kendra leaves. "A month surrounded by suspicious people who seem as intent on attacking us as talking to us. I fear we may need to find something to occupy our time. At least what time that she does not need us," she adds hurriedly.
Lilyana shrugs as well. "And Ionacu and I have never been there. I really don't see how we could have anything in common other than our knowing the Professor... Your father," she adds in an attempt to be a bit more personable.
Lily lets Kendra take her cloak as well, letting her own stark white hair fall down around her shoulders to frame pale blue eyes. She thanks Kendra with a barely audible word, then walks into the sitting room to have a seat. The room almost seems to darken around her as she does so, but that's probably just your imagination. As Dairyia comes in, she gives her a timid smile. "Did you have to travel far?" she ventures, trying to break the silence with a rather lame attempt at conversation.
Lilyana is the last to step forward, standing silent for just a moment, perhaps fighting back tears, before speaking in an unsteady voice. "I was with my brother when he surved as a guard for the professor. Though I could do little to protect him, the professor saw more in me than anyone else ever had. And where I had been afraid of it, he encouraged me to persue my own abilities. He did what he could to help me, but it was his encouragement that really... stuck... with me. Thank you, professor. I will always strive to be the best person I can. As you always encouraged everyone else to be." She takes a deep, steadying breath, then goes back to stand by her brother, wraping one arm around his.
Lily comes forward as well, taking up a spot at the foot of the casket across from Dariyia. Dispite the fact that she really does feel it an honor to help, she does look a bit awkward as well.
Lilyana follows her brother, offering her own soft condolances to the woman before going towards the casket. There she lays a hand on the lid, saying her own prayer to Pharasma. She stays there for some time before reluctantly stepping away to join her brother. Looking around, she seems to just notice the other people standing about, particularly Tiberious. She gives him a small, almost timid, smile as their eyes briefly meet, then looks back to her brother.
Well there's a rumor that Jeff will be back today. Hopefully that means he'll still be interested in this campaign as well. Maybe we can start it up and Mandy can join in when she has more time?
Hey Allan, wasn't Lilyana going to be older, like 26-ish? She is, I just hadn't changed it since our discussion. Also haven't put in her appearance or background. Or decided on a weapon.

Well this is the Sorc so far. Changed to a human, just fit better with how I was starting to picture the character. Besides, I think the dhampir will be giving us enough suspicious looks. :)
Sorry to hear about the move (and more specificly its cause). I think you forgot Rae and Kieran on that list, bringing us to 8. 7 if Rae is MIA. I only asked because it seemed like a lot. I tend to prefer groups of about 6 max. I'll stick it out for now though, see how things go. :)

Having acquired a decent take from her song earlier, Lily is more than willing to fade into the background (as much as possible considering the hubub her volunteering seems to have caused). She'll get a 5 silver room with a 3 silver meal and wait for the morning. Unless anyone disturbs her, she's more than happy to spend the evening alone.
Lily sees others stepping up to the task, and as Thorn does as well she can't help but give a smile. "Well if you're going. I'll go too. Besides... It could be fun."
Leshok Spoiler: I was actually thinking Calistrian Prostitute. Not because she ever worked in a brothel, but her 'work' did teach her to flatter, please, and listen. And Calistria is her deity. All it would give her is a +1 trait bonus to Sense Motive, and a +1 trait bonus to gathering information with diplomacy. The latter would only apply with people who aren't already attracted to her, as she already has a trait bonus towards diplomacy checks vs those.
Lily shrugs. "I don't know. But he does have a point about how things will turn out if the cure is given to the queen. I doubt that the common people will be first on the list." She starts to walk back a bit closer to the hubub, trying not to stay in the background as much as possible, considering she has a large half-orc at her side. "It would be exciting,"[b] she adds with a wide, child-like, grin. [b]"To be one of the people responsible for helping to bring about the end of this curse." She keeps her voice low, aimed only at Thorn.
Lily blushes as she finds a spot to stand, in the shade of a building. "Well I don't know about being a flower... But I can't argue that Thorn is a bit less, agressive, than Revengance." She pauses, listening to the bustle around the wagons and watching the people around them. "Do you think it's true?" she asks, indicating the wagons, her tone hopeful.
Lilyana giggles a bit at the name, but covers her mouth quickly. "My name is Lilyana, though most everyone just calls me Lily. Have you ever thought about just going by something else? In common I mean." She giggles a bit again, "Though I'm sure a name like that is pretty intimidating, could be handy."
Having no intention of trusting the crowd near the wagon, Lilyana gives the half-orc a smile and lets him lead her off a ways. Still in sight of the crowd, but far enough away to avoid the noise. "So does the festival bring you to Tesserin? Or do you have other buisness?" She looks up at the half-orc with a curious expression.
Character should be complete. Just one last thing. Spoiler: Can I trade my starting wealth for a third trait? Sort of a reverse of the Rich Parents trait. I only need about 12 gp starting.
Noticing the fumbling, Lily shakes her head, placing a hand on his as she leans in closer to whisper in his ear. whisper...whisper...:
Oh I'm not looking for more money at all. But I would be very grateful if you might simply escort me for a bit? She looks up with batting eyelashes.
Lilyana squints a bit at the men as she finishes retrieving her coins. Overhearing the half-orcs comment she gives him a wide smile and sidles over towards him. "Well thank you very much. It's nice to know that it was appreciated." She tries to keep an eye on the men she spotted, while keeping close to the, hopefully intimidating, patron.
as mentioned earlier wealth is 400 gold and one special request! Sorry, I was talking about my previous spoiler asking about other options since I intend for her to start out on the poor side due to her background.

As the people's attention starts to shift and her audiance's heads turn, Lily wraps up her song. No sense in singing to people who aren't paying attention. She keeps a wary eye on the wagons as she walks around to pick up the scattering of coins that were tossed on the ground, flicking her long hair out of her face as she half blindly gropes.

I was thinking that she would have a trinket that she got from her mother's body before she was taken. Something she's kept hidden. A locket, or pendant most likely. Not very valuable by appearance. I was wondering if you could take some liscence with it and make it something more than that, to be discovered by her at a latter date. The mystery of this could be hard to keep with detect magic, but it'd be cool to RP. One other issue Spoiler: I know that you said we could start with 400 gp but I'm trying to play Lily as rather poor. I just don't see being well equiped as part of her background. I was thinking her posessions would be pretty limited to some changes of clothes and a few daggers for protection. Any chance I could get this wealth translated into something else? I'm not sure what exactly at this point, but otherwise it'll just be sitting in her inventory and it'd be wierd for a destitute street performer to be walking around with hundreds of gp. :) |
