Welcome back!

I don't know why you would have had trouble with the core site where the forums reside. The storefront side has been moved to a new site and uses different credentials to log in. When the migration to the new store took place, the forums were down for a few days, but they've generally been accessible since last we spoke here.

I don't post every day, but I am here often.

We are late in the packing for our annual fall trip to somewhere else. I will likely have access, at least by phone, so my normal (slow) rate of posting should not be interrupted if things resume before I return. In case I don't get back here for a minute, have a fantastic day. Every day.

Liesel-Marie starts to exit the room before a thoughtful expression crosses her face. She carefully switches Icingflame for the god's hammer. Maybe a little god-magic will help at a time like this.

With a nod, she gestures toward the door.

"Depraved Lands? Never mind, do we search out the other two or do we stick together here and wait for them? We know where Nyym intended to go and where Rohan was last seen - and it's the same place."

"Aye, and I'm always open to alternatives, my friend. I've got your back - just tell me what you need."

She reaches down to unnecessarily aid the elf in standing. "Come. The world holds its breath while we do what needs to be done. I think Tsadok knows."

Tsadok's eyes narrow in annoyance at the Erutaki's words as they both descend the staircase to catch up with Kyt.

Always your go to. The dhampir nods towards IcingFlame, then sighs. There are some things that brute force alone can't overcome.

The woman from the north tries to hide her grin as she mock-denies the accusation, "Not so! I occasionally use my shortbow." More seriously, she adds, "Odd happenings never bode well for Team Ruby. I'm well aware that force is not always the best answer, but it has served me well for long time."

"Well, Venn, we're going to follow our friend in search of context."

Yes, always be grateful for good health. Not much else matters when your body is not well.

I can understand life getting in the way. Work has been wearing on me lately as well.

OK, I feel like I have finally gotten the Erutaki Princess updated to tenth level and two tiers. I noticed that I apparently missed a talent at an earlier level. I picked up detonation but I can remove it if you feel it's not warranted.

I have work to do!

OK, I'm admittedly very tired, but I have time to respond to this now.

Are we at 9th level plus two tiers, almost to 10th? Or are we 10th level plus two tiers, almost to 11th?

I have slipped a bit from my obsessive exercise routine and I need to figure out a time balance that lets me get back to it. I’m at an age where the odds are increasingly stacked against me, just because things are slowing down.

But so far, my luck has held out. Of course, to paraphrase a quote sometimes attributed to Thomas Jefferson, I have always been lucky. And I find the harder I work, the luckier I am.

I’m very grateful to hear your health situation has improved. Wishing you good health and much happiness in the new year.

Eyebrow raised, amazed that she's talking to a bag, Liesel-Marie lowers the head of the giantess into the bag. She hefts their new companion and looks at her more traditional allies.

"Very good. Which way?"

I hope you all have had an opportunity to spend time with loved ones and know you are loved. If not, know that you are still loved. Here’s to a fantastic New Year for each of you.

For those that celebrate it, wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving today. And if you are preparing the meal, find time for you, not just the guests. Of course, if you don’t celebrate American Thanksgiving, may you enjoy a great day as well.

Liesel-Marie replies, ”Well, I only want it as evidence that we defeated her and we may need to produce that evidence quickly. Keep her on the tip of your tongue if you know what I mean.”

I assume the difference in asking for an item vs. reaching for an item is only the method. The time will still be a full round. If I need to be silent, it would be one thing, if I need to keep my hands free, it would be the other. True?

At the designation of ‘new boss,’ Leisel-Marie’s eyebrows raise, but she doesn’t say anything, watching and listening to the mildly gross display of its contents.
”Thank you, Venn. How aware are you of what happens near you? You can obviously hear and I suspect feel. Can you see, as well? I was looking for a container and I don’t think it would be respectful to ask you to carry my burden. Perhaps you have seen a lesser means of transport in your time here?”

”I have so many questions for you. I have never met one such as yourself. Just how much can you carry, my new friend? If I ask you to carry something, do I need to reach into you to retrieve it later or can you return that item on request? Or do you need to return all of it at once, as you did here? Do you have a means of moving yourself?”

So… sentient giant-sized bag of holding. That’s new and fun.

Liesel-Marie looks up from her conversation. ”I won’t put this,” she gestures at Grenseldek’s head, ”in our new friend’s maw. Do we have anything else we wish to ask Venn to carry for us?”

Liesel-Marie starts, but stands with the bag, looking bemused. "Well, then. Forgive me if that was inappropriate. How should we address you? Referring to you as a bag - now that you have announced yourself - seems rude indeed."

"And... what does a giant put into a 'size-appropriate' tia'dethesk?"

Sorry you had to deal with that, but sounds like it is a good thing you got it checked out. I know an acquaintance that got a bite that wasn't going to get it checked out, but her co-workers forced her to do so. Turned out to be a brown recluse bite and she was very fortunate to have gone in when she did.

Liesel-Marie is only half-listening, still staring at the torch that disappeared into darkness. She exhales, pulling it back out slowly, and grinning when the light becomes apparent once more, nodding.

"Yes, yes..." She looks up, her expression similar to theirs. Handing the torch to Kyt, she lowers the sack to the floor, grabs the bottom, and slowly raises it so its contents spill out on the floor.

Like that?

She sticks the temporarily-enchanted torch into the sack.

Liesel-Marie's eyebrows raise as she watches the monk's struggle. Grabbing either side of the bag to open it wide, she stands to judge its weight, expecting it to be more than it appears, but curious how much more.

She will attempt to maneuver it so a flame of some sort is casting light directly into the bag.

”Here, it’s probably shadow, bring it here to the light.”

Liesel-Marie is less about the knowing of things than the doing of things.

Liesel-Marie stares at the statue for a time, but shakes her head. ”Odd. I feel like I have seen this person, this giant, but I can’t imagine where. Unless he was at the siege of Trunau.” She unconsciously rests her hand on the hammer hanging at her belt.

Liesel-Marie rolls her eyes. "Did you? Sorry, I was a little busy," she holds up the giantess' head, "but OK, you just startled us. I thought you'd awakened a dragon or something. Wait..."

Staring at the balcony, she adds, "You know, I love him like a brother, but some days..."

Turning to the room at hand, she says, "Well, we have achieved a goal here. What trinkets can we take back to our friends in Trunau to pay for building new walls?"

She will stow her axe, check to make sure the hammer is secure, and start searching the room with the others.

Is there a bag sufficient to carry Grenseldek's head? Is there anything other than the head in the wall?

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13

Liesel-Marie relaxes and calls out, ”You know, I am carrying a hammer. And you could give a girl some warning. Either would have been great.”

Liesel-Marie listens to Kyt, holding the chieftain's head by the hair, when a roar comes from within the room. She whirls, the freshly-removed head flinging blood in an arc and Icingflame held by the haft. She's crouched, eyes wide, ready to respond to whatever creature it might be.

And slightly fatigued after the execution.

Liesel-Marie nods solemnly. She draws back the bearded axe and calls forth her bloodrage. With a shout of rage, she sends the great blade whistling at and through the giant's offered neck.

Grenseldek locks eyes with the Erutaki, her gaze unwavering. "Well, ildvan..? Are you willing to hear me out? Or shall we keep on with the stupidity of this fracas?"

Liesel-Marie gives the giantess a withering look. "As I just said, tell me your price."

”You heard Kyt. It wasn’t the hammer she wanted, it was the sparkling rock. But you have reminded me of something.”[\b]

Turning to face to giantess, the bloodrager says, [b]”What do you know of your ancestor’s hammer? What is special about it?”

Not that we know nothing about it, but Liesel-Marie wants to know if there’s more the giant will share.

”We are not here for cruelty or meanness, my friend. Justice.”

Nodding, the bloodrager says, ”I can make it quick or not. You choose.”

If the giantess makes it easy, Liesel-Marie will go for a single clean cut through the spine. If she resists, she will make it messy.

Liesel-Marie looks among her companions, unsure what to make of this. We came to avenge Trunau. Does this knowledge change that?

Still catching her breath, Liesel-Marie nods at Kyt. "Ask, then. I'm fine speaking to her with my axe, but I can wait."

Liesel-Marie puts Kyt down on the ground, makes hand motions as if smoothing imagined wrinkles in the woman's robes, and offers a muttered, "Sorry..." as the fatigue of her spent bloodrage washes over her. She turns to re-enter the room.

I am overdue to likewise explain potential delays - I will be on my annual trip to Somewhere Else with my significant other. Spent today on the High Trestle Trail in central-ish Iowa - over 32 miles!

Liesel-Marie charges forward, sweeping up the warrior monk as she runs, trying to get both of them away from whatever alarmed Nyym so much.

Fire (literally) in her eyes, Liesel-Marie looks at the warrior monk, "You are playing with her. You aren't trying to kill her. Should I stay my axe? Or end this?" Seeing an orb roll up to the fallen giantess and hearing Colt's warning, she adds, "Marshal, what is that thing?"

Liesel-Marie should be one square to the right of the current map's position for her, in range for her ten-foot reach.

Liesel-Marie, even enraged, sees the advantage of numbers, and focuses on a single devastating strike.

Vital Strike: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31

Slashing Damage: 1d12 + 26 ⇒ (6) + 26 = 32 and Fire Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1) = 6

In reference to long travel time, be safe, GM.

Liesel-Marie grunts with exertion, "Welcome back, little shadow, feeling rested?"

Liesel-Marie steps closer (5’ step) and swings twice at the giantess.

No vital strike this time, clearly.
