This was a great experience, everyone. Besides being the only AP I've played from start to finish (and the only PACS character I've played all the way through), this game has also been a great comfort to me during some personally very challenging times. When we began playing my father had already been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer but we were still hopeful that with treatment he might have some years to live; unfortunately he died a year ago, a month after we all began the covid lockdown. When we began playing I already sensed that my marriage was over but I had not actually begun the divorce; I filed the paperwork about a month after we started and then had to continue sharing a home with her for over a year before the process was finally complete and she had moved out, through it all caring for my young daughter and trying to shelter her from the worst of the drama. Whew, it has been rough, especially with covid thrown into the mix. There were many, many times when our game was a truly wonderful respite from the unpleasant tension. Thank you all.

Though paizo has sadly given up on PACS, personally the game still has a lot of interest for me (as I mentioned, this is still only the first AP I've completed) so I hope to keep playing as long as there are other interested players and will be delighted to play again with any of this group.

And especial thanks to dinketry for running the game so superbly and smoothly, and to both dinketry and yewstance for their patience answering my many questions.

Scenario Power: On your turn, ... after you move, exchange your current location card with a random card in the demi-plane stack. There is only one card remaining in the demi-plane stack so Library becomes Location #16: Ruin.

Location Power: When a monster is undefeated, shuffle a new monster into the location.

Lem thinks that further research is needed and he heads to the library but wait, what is this?!? The library has been ruined! What madness is this? What depraved villains would desecrate a library like this?!?

Lem begins to look around him but he is so troubled by the anti-bibliophilia of their foes that he finds himself spirally into madness - perhaps Lem once considered a career as a librarian? Perhaps he was expecting to find his latest chart-topping hit in the music section? Or perhaps he simply has outstanding library fines that he has not yet paid. Regardless, the sight of the ruined library pushes him right over the edge!

In any case, it's clearly destined for a crate in the Grand Lodge's warehouse and Lem has no intention of surrendering it to anyone!

I don't particularly care if I fail the BA check since the only consequence of the Imp being undefeated would be that Lem gets poisoned, which won't matter if we win the game this turn. On the other hand, if the scenario rule about swapping your location card when you don't defeat a bane applies here, then I would definitely not want to fail the BA. In that case I would ask Varril to recharge Phoenix Tail. However, I don't think the location card getting swapped mid-close attempt makes sense or is what is intended, so I'll continue on the assumption that failing to defeat the Imp would not change the current close attempt by virtue of the location card being changed. I'll also post a spoiler for the result with Phoenix Tail if the BR interprets it otherwise.

If BR says that the scenario rule about the location card changing if a bane is undefeated applies in such a way that it would disrupt or alter the current close attempt:

Phoenix Tail addition to the above result: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Result: if Phoenix Tail was not used, Lem is now poisoned and the scenario rule about the location card getting swapped out when you fail to defeat a bane is invoked, but this does not affect the current close attempt which is already in-progress; the location power is also triggered (I think), causing a new monster to be shuffled into the location. If Phoenix Tail was used then Lem is not poisoned and the location card is not swapped.

The imp is defeated (unless the BA check prevented that); in either case it does no damage to Lem.

Lem hurriedly teaches the imp to never ever NEVER poison someone's beer, and then turns back to deal with his foe. But Togomor has not been idle! Bolts of lightning are flying everywhere, threatening to electrocute Lem and his friends. "No, no, I tell you! This is an opera, not a rave! How many times do we have to go over this?"

Back to the Togomor's BA...then each character must succeed at a Dexterity or Acrobatics 13 check or bury a random card and suffer 1d4 Electricity damage.

Despite Lem's entreaties, the bloatmage seems convinced that a rave is what is needed and the spirals of electricity are everywhere, in hideous neon. Lem knows he had better act fast to put an end to the party before it gets out of hand!

When Varril avenges Lem's encounter with the Emperor Scorpion it is recharged into the location (I don't think anything about Seek Quarry interferes with this) beneath Ossuary Cell 13.

Resuming my turn - I have examined the top 2 cards of Ossuary (now Cell) as part of Seek Quarry...

During Lem's turn, Lem recharged a card for Lem-aid for Skizza. Realistically, this would definitely have been Venster Arabasti (and, conveniently, that makes hand reconstruction not too difficult). This means that when I had to reset my hand after the encounter with Sayona I would have drawn one additional card: Blessing of Abadar 2. This also means that I would not have been able to draw The Tyrant from the hourglass discard pile, which has no real effect on the board, but means that I remove The Tyrant from my hand and my deck. Finally, the recharged Venster would have been shuffled back into my deck when I healed myself on Brielle's turn; since Venster was one of the cards that was healed then, a different card would have been healed: randomly it is... Dominate.

If Brielle also wants Lem-aid for her Fort/Con check Lem would have recharged The Dance. That recharged card would have later been shuffled into the deck when I healed on Brielle's turn, so the only practical impact now would be to add another card to my hand to replace The Dance from when I reset my hand.
