Female Gnome Monk/6

Emilia and Leaf leave the cave, with Leaf talking about the forests and animals she had seen throughout her travels.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Leaf has the look of someone describing the grandest thing in the world.
"No? That's not right. I'll show a dancing tree myself, but first we have to find a tree."
She pauses for a second and her face looks like it should be splitting from the smile that covers it as she talks to Em again.
"Even better, We should find a whole bunch of trees! But we won't be finding any trees here, come on!"

(And we finally see Leaf's sunny side!)

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Leaf beams at Emilia
"Have you ever seen a tree dance?"

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"Here let me try." Leaf whispers to Sha'llae.

She walks over to Emilia and quietly whispers into her ear.
"Em? Have you ever seen a tree dance?"

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"Don't worry I'll Watch her."
Leaf smiles reassuringly at the two elves.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Still here.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Leaf looks at Sha'llae an expression of repressed laughter on her face.
"Don't drop it. I'd hate to see what would happen if Em picks it up twice."

Leaf turns to Em with a bit of scowl on her face.
"There's no reason to throw it. You had a fair warning at least. All I got was two laughing elves."
Leaf jerks a thumb in the general direction of Cas'fi and Sha'llae

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Leaf is more than a little confused about the kiss, and more than a little concerned about Emilia crying.
"Um, Em, mind not squeezing so hard, I'd like my ribs to still be intact."
After Emilia lets go.
"Sorry, it's just that I've been given a bone crushing hug once already. I do have something to pay you back for the kiss, this."
Leaf shows Emilia the staff, and motions for her to pick it up.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Sweet, thank you and a Merry Christmas to you too! I took a handy haversack

Leaf could have sworn she heard a couple of ribs crack as Sha'llae hugs her.
"Yes, ma'am. could you put me down I can't breath."

"What, you're telling me that my friendship isn't worth anything. I may be a bit cold blooded, and able to make the most deadly of foes beg for mercy. But, I'm a good friend. Just ask Casfi that." She smiles at Leaf, her eyes bright. "Now, I wonder what this staff will do if I pick it up." She reaches down and picks up the staff.

Leaf cringes at the sound, curling up so small it looks like you could just pick her up with hand.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean it the way it must have sounded! I meant that meeting such a good group of friends was one of the only good things that's come out of this trip so far."

Leaf shivers a little. She looks emotional drained and still bears the marks from the previous fight.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Leaf smiles a bit when she receives the gift.
"Thanks. I guess that makes two worthwhile things I've gained on this trip."

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"I just punched Mara in the face."
Leaf just continues to watch the Sirrush, thinking.
"Do you know how to raise them. I want to help them, but I don't know where to start."

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Have the cats gone off on their own yet. I just wanted to know because that's going to weigh in heavily on Leaf's actions.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"Eep!"
Leaf squeaks as she drops the staff and reaches to pull her pants back up. Her face turns almost as red as the hearts on the boxers that had mysteriously appeared where her normal undergarments had been previously.

"I hate this place."

Leaf curls up into a ball again and just watches the Sirrush pups in the lantern light.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"The Elf? I guess I better go get him out of it."
Leaf walks over to the cave and wonders why the two elves are doubled over laughing. She sees the ebony staff and picks it up.

"What's this?"

EDIT:Okay, how's this going to be resolved?

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Elven:

I'm confused, angry, and... empty. I struck someone for the first time out of rage, and I'm ashamed. I'm afraid, Em. I'm scared of what I would have done if I hadn't softened the blow. What if I lose myself again? How can I live with myself if I...if I...

Leaf buries he head into her knees and curls up into a ball.
"I hate it here. It's too hot, too dry, and has too many spoiled brats. My clothes are ruined and I haven't had a nice bath since coming here. The only good thing out of this trip has been meeting you and Zooke."

When she mentions Zooke, she starts, realizing that she didn't know if he was okay or not. She scrambles to her feet and dashes back to the caravan. She looks for Zooke and runs over to him, and almost knocks him over when she embraces him in a tight hug.
"Oh Zooke, I've been a fool."

She tears up and just stands there hugging Zooke as they run down her face.

By the way Leaf's down a seven or eight HP in case anyone's wondering.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Just curious, is anyone going to check up on Leaf?

Leaf finally cries herself out and just looks out over the blinding desert with her thoughts buzzing in her head. Grief, anger, and confusion mix in her heart as a the normally jovial Gnome wonders if life is even worth all of the pain and strife.

"You there." She says to Leaf. "Leave that useless slave and set to fixing my carriage."

Just double checking Zooke and Leaf are the only gnomes in the party, right?

When Leaf hears Mara, she stops crying, her eyes seem to blaze as she walks over to the young noblewoman. She reaches up with both hands, and yanks her down by the front of her tunic/dress/robe to where she's looking Leaf right in the eye.

"His. name. is. Zooke." Every word sounds as if she's on the ragged edge of self-control. "He is my friend. He has a family, with a little sister that he never saw grow-up. He was bleaching, dying, because you consider non-humans to be your playthings. He's a fool, a lovable fool at times, and he's worth more than a hundred of thousands of you." Her arms are violently shaking as her voice cracks. "You, a petty noble who considers those of a different race beneath you." Leaf takes her right hand and pulls back for a punch. Tears of rage stream down her bloodied and sand covered face.
"Fix your own damn carriage."
Leaf's fist rams into the side of Mara's face.
Damage (Non-lethal):1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

"And tell you tin-god to rot in hell."

She walks off about 200-250 feet from the caravan, sits on the ground and cries.

An Explanation:

I know this is up to GM discretion, but I believe that Leaf's actions have veered her away from Lawful, to neutral or even chaotic. This means no more Monk levels because she is now an ex-member of the class. I also realize that her actions have likely made things more difficult. I apologize, I was just trying to role-play the character that has developed. I don't think this out of character for Leaf because she has shown that the ways of this people bother her a lot and she has also shown a deepening attachment to Zooke, despite the arguments they have had. She takes promises very seriously and the possibility of Zooke dying and not being able to see his family again pushed her to a very precarious place emotionally. Mara's comment broke her self-control and lead to the events above. Again, this is up to the GM, but I felt like I needed to explain in case any players thought I was going off the deep end with this character, which wouldn't be the first time.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Leaf rushes over to the carriage and the gnome
"ZOOKE! Oh, oh no..."
When she stops and sees the broken gnome, she breaks down crying.
"c-cer...Cer. CER! C'mon Zooke hang in there."

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Leaf turns away and looks for Zooke.
"ZOOKE! Are you okay?"

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Leaf stops running, wondering what's going on. She rushes back towards the caravan. Running at full tilt until she's next to Kujoe.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Will Save:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Effect: 1d100 ⇒ 9

Right as the Sirrush's attack lands, Leaf staggers a little and slumps as her arms go limp. She starts to babble nonsense, sing-song nonsense, but nonsense none-the-less.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Lemme tell ya, I'm liking the Doctor Who references.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Okay I assume that we need a remove curse to change her back to a, well, her?

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"Maybe he's a masochist?" Leaf smiles trying to cheer her friend up. "Come on, let's see if there's anyone, or anywhere, that we can get that belt off."

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"Sometimes it's better to give of yourself so that others might live. Yeah what Casfi did was stupid. The two of us are stronger than he is and I had to save him, but that doesn't mean when others die to save those that they love it's pointless." Leaf takes a deep breath before continuing.
"Who'd you say is the better man? The one who runs leaving another to die, or the one who dies so that another can live?"

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"Let it all out. It's okay to cry, and it's okay to need others. That's on of the first things my master taught me."
Leaf sits there with her friend and waits until Emilia has cried herself out.
"Okay, now tell me what's wrong."

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Leaf has stared at all that's happening in a bit of shock. When she sees Emilia curl up on the ground, she runs over to her. and grabs on of her arms.

"Em! What's worng? C'mon, talk to me."

Hey now, no need to apologize. remember when Leaff was all weepy at the start of this.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Hello?

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Not quite think we're a few hundred shy.

Leaf shrugs.
"Not a clue."

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"Those I can handle. And considering the way this trip is going, I wouldn't bet on it."

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"Thanks Zooke." Leaf's relief is obvious at the offer.
"I'll get you something nice once we get somewhere with a proper market."

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"I'm glad you're okay. We got swarmed by some Jellies and I got a little shocked. I don't suppose the younger ones have anything they can spare?" Leaf's feeling very sheepish about asking, considering what happened with the "merchant."

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"Anyone seen Zooke? I haven't seen him since before we left town." Leaf looks around, a bit anxious.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"Nope, I may need to get some new clothes though." Leaf says as she gestures at her charred clothing.
"A big bunch of jellies came out of nowhere and this Idiot," Leaf jabs Casfi hard in the ribs, "runs into the middle of them and nearly gets himself killed."

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"Thanks Kujoe." Leaf says as she feels the energy sap the last pains away from the burns she suffered. She looks okay, despite the numerous scorch and burn marks on her clothes. She looks towards the battered elf.

"Hey Casfi are you okay?"

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Yep

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Leaf, sees Casfi go down.

"Damn idiot." She tries to get as many people away from the swarms as possible. Then runs to find anything metal, and chunks it as far as she can away from the caravan and the noble fool who just got knocked out.
Strength check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
After that she rushes over to Casfi (if she can, she's going to pick him up.) and tries to get him to safety.

(Yes I know this is probably about 2 or 3 rounds of actions, just let me know what happens.)

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Leaf grabs some of the thatch and makes a molotov out of the headlamp and tries to light it using a flint and steel.

Once light she's chunking it at the closest swarm.
Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Damage: (I don't know, I'd guess a 1d6?)

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Leaf Looks for an old rag or something to make a makeshift fuse.
Preception:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Sorry for the drop off in activity. Network at the dorms went down.
Leaf searches for anything flammable and splashy in the carriage she's on.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

Initiative:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Okay, are these swarms? because I'm going to be pretty much useless in this fight if they are.

Grand Lodge

Female Gnome Monk/6

"Uh, I don't think I can do anything against that!"
