He then turns to Mira and says "I was thinking reckless myself. The Queen made it clear she didn't want us in her tunnels and I don't think we would be welcome guests either but who knows. I'll take the lead here if that is ok with you. These tunnels are easy enough to fly down. I'll take a look at their construction too make sure they are still safe."

When the group is ready Lazur leads them back to the place where the cherufes were last known to be and begins to track them back to their lair. He looks to the others and says "We will see how far we can track them. Keep an eye out for anything out of place or hazards."

Once the groups meets at the Ram's Tears Lazur begins to explore and make sure they pick sound ground for the building. Once everyone has had a chance to look around he gathers everyone together. "Why don't we set out looking for that beasts hoard. That may give a few useful trinkets as well as funds to help us build here. What do you say?"

I was thinking we start with a wizards tower and build from there. Maybe it overlooks the falls and we add walls and other towers and a keep as time goes by. We all get rooms and add things as time goes by. Workers quarters would be good as well. Especially if the oreads we save want to work for us.

Lazur heads to the docks with the others and seeing the mess going on drinks his overland flight and flies over the crowd. He yells down at them "THAT IS ENOUGH!". He looks sadly at the group near the Temple of Tria and says "I know for a FACT that the poor have been looked after as it was my friends and mine's assist that allowed those from the Temple of Pirs administer to them. This is not the time for more destruction and chaos. We all need to work together for the good of all those in the city. I know you are all hurting but please don't take it out on each other or what is left of the city. We are doing everything we can to assist those that need it but it will take time."

I am heading out of town tomorrow March 28 and the plan is to be back on Monday April 1st. I will be able to read posts but don't expect me to post anything that requires formatting as I only have my phone.

Lazur starts by walking around the center of town area looking for a good spot for a field hospital. Once he has candidates he then studies them finding the one he can put into operation the quickest. He then points to what will need done and let's them know he will be back once he gets a hospital started near the docks.

He walks to the docks and repeats the process. Points out where to dig ditches to drain some of the area and what building to use and needed repair.

He then spends the day between the two helping where he can and healing those he can as well.

Lazur stands up as Kardak leaves and says "Where would you like me to assist? I am more of an all arounder. My healing skills are good but mundane and individual. I also have much knowledge of engineering. And many other skills that might come in handy but where is best to apply them?"

I got a post in about 30 minutes before you posted yours. Sounds like you may have missed it. Probably typing your post when mine hit depending on how long it took to type that.

I am not into the nitty gritty of building but I do know you need a way to track it. I'm good with either way.

A feat sounds good to me. Sounds like any of the +2 to two skills ones might work, skill focus. What about any of the +2 on saves or extra uses of class ability ones? Those too combat oriented? Disable Dweomer allows the use of disable device to suppress magic items. Would that fit? Otherwise it will be a skill focus or two skill one.

Lazur smiles to the group and says "While the disaster has stopped for now, we have only pushed it into the future. In fifty years the machine will need refueled just like we just did. The tenders of the machine are no more. They have been destroyed by various different creature for various reasons. The town has fifty years to figure this out. I will aid where I can. First I will do what I can to help with healing the injured. I am no cleric and am more known for my midwifery skills but I can patch people up too. We as a group need to sit down and discuss our next steps but I think we are in agreement that for the next day or so we will be in town helping to get it back to a more stable place." That said he smiles and nods.

When the meeting is over he approaches Constable Kardak Firehand "Hello. I'm Lazur Anil. I see you have been refusing help for your arm from the divine casters. I don't know your reasons nor do you have to tell me if you don't want to. I have no special power from any god and if you will allow me I would be happy to take a look at your arm and try to help you some."

A question regarding Healer's Hands Conduit. I don't know what his reasons are but if he is against magical healing would this be considered partially magical. Conduit feats pull energy from other planes, this one the positive plane. I have no intention of lying about where the abilities come from which is why I am asking.

I am good. I am even with Trer and just within 30' from her so we should both be able to be hasted. I would have started things off further west but I'm ready to go.

Lazur says "Let me use the last few infusions I need an we can meet it further up. We should stay close to each other until haste is cast."

That is assuming we are less than 17 minutes from the ravener otherwise I will use them about 8 minutes out.

Lazur takes a momemnt to think about what he knows about dragons and raveners. To the queen he says in giant "We wouldn't dream of taking your plunder from those you kill. We can hopefully find any hoard without having to go through your tunnels and if we have to we won't. We will only enter your tunnels at your invitation."

Turning to the group he says "I have a few more preparations to make before we engage that thing. Hopefully Trer and I can flank it. Does anyone have the ability to dispel magic if needed?"

I believe an investigator can take as a talent the Infusion discovery, which allows someone else to imbibe. If not I think I'd allow you to take it as a talent.

Forgive me for nitpicking, but there's a vast difference between "provokes an attack of opportunity" and "no way to do it." You absolutely can consume an extract in a threatened space, it just incurs risk. Extracts are drunk like potions (except you can pull it out as well as drink it as part of your standard actions). This does mean it provokes an AoO. However:

This is exactly what I am talking about about being too used to other spell asters. I know all of what you just said but as a mage I would never cast a spell in AoO range of someone if I can't reliably do it defensively due to the risk of losing the spell. Alchemist casting though worst case you take a hit, unless they sunder or disarm you.

I'm glad you took it! Could lead to some plot threads or interesting flavor moments at least. You could also try to use it on the PCs with the players' permission. (though I am unlikely to try to predict the PCs' deaths.)

Any build has strengths and weaknesses. I built a critfishing AoO type character, that is what the enlarge person and long arm are for. I think a 15' reach is rare and hopefully will catch some bad guys out. So far my combat strengths haven't been useful but I can still fight. I would like to see what this build can do. And I am interested in what my campaign trait tells me. I liked it when I saw it and I added the midwife and healing angle because of it. Lazur was a forger in his original investigator build and still is.

As for "leveling up" I think past level 20, I do want to see level 20, feats would be nice, or traits or even class or archetype features from other classes.

As for mythic vital strike, that needs to be removed from the worlds memory as if it never existed. I'm running a Wrath campaign and it is awful. You basically crit every time you hit.

I am trying to come to grips with this 17th level character. Part of him has been useless so far, that isn't your fault. Alot of his damage potential is precision damage and criticals. Needless to say the enemies haven't been the best for that. :) This alias was orginally by Iron Gods gunslinger. He go turned into an investigator for Rise of the Runelords. Neither got very far. I've never really got my head around alchemist "magic". From what I have gleaned I think his extracts only effect him. So the haste I have is pretty useless for the party. That is fine I see him as a self buffer but I think I would make changes should I create another alchemist magic user.

That being said I am enjoying this and would like to continue on with this. Hopefully I'll get a better grip of what I am doing.

If we knew for certain it would save people then by all means cast it now but we may do more good by refueling the machine."
