I haven't been keeping up with the news, and had no idea another gameday was coming. Forgive my insolence! But let's say that you may ask me again after Hydra's Fang Incident. That I know too well.

Good. I've already played Hydra's Fang Incident, and in fact I've GM'd it way back in 2008... :)

So I'll back off now. Inform me if you'll start a new module or so.

Thanks again! I'm contemplating whether or not I should apply for another, after all. Another long PbP just ended, and one is nearing its end (final battle).

I'm on a short vacation now though, so I can't make any updates or so until Wednesday or so.

Kuran is shaking constantly as they explore the remainders of the dark crypt, he's still expecting some monster attack them from behind. Holding his sword high and shield to defend himself from these unknown evils, he shrieks loudly as the spirit comes to view, promptly dismissing his say of bravery. Kuran doesn't ease up during the monologue, too terrified to respond or react, hiding behind Darren.

As Kassen approaches him, instinctively he raises his arms as if something would hit him, and then looks befuddled as nothing bad had happened to him. Confused, he watches the spirit as it says its last words and disappears into nothingness.

The blessing he received is something he contemplates during the entire trip back town. Was it an ominous one, or an actual blessing granted by a benevolent spirit? Kuran isn't all that trustful towards beings that died once before but defied Pharasma's will and came back, often to haunt the living for some absurd reason.

Back at the town he looks at the townspeople with distrust. In Kuran's mind, the townsfolk knew they sent the group of pathfinders to their deaths, and just tried to make it look like they didn't know a thing about all the monstrosities in the crypt. Still, he's smart enough to keep the suspicions to himself and just enjoy the festivities to the best of his abilities. Regardless, he can't shake off his paranoia and jumpiness, and attempts to stay out of view. When people ask him about the events in the crypt, he recites his adventures mainly in words terror, horror, evil, death, sorrow, and horrible. His stuttering, too, drives away those curious about the crypt.

"I have a bad f-feeling about th-this place... m-maybe the v-villagers in Kassen knew a-about this, and just sent i-innocent people here as an o-offering to a-appease the evil skeleton..."

Kuran is still too shaken to do anything but look around nervously, though he sheathes his longsword and uses the wand he held with his prehensile tail during this time. He uses the wand on himself to close the gravest wounds.

You're right, Blossym. A reason I haven't posted my action yet, although it's just healing. Situation might change, and Kuran might heal someone else than himself.

Silver Crusade

Male Tiefling Inquisitor 2 | HP 21/21 | CMD 15 | AC 20, t 12, ff 18 | Fort +6 Ref +2 Will +6 (+2 vs. emotion) | Init +5, Perc +8

"Ow!" Kuran shrieks in terror, whimpering as the strong monster scathes him (with what weapon?)

Kuran attempts to retaliate, still using his longsword which he knows has proven not as effective on the skeleton.

Mwk longsword + studied target + bless + flank: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 101d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5

But his attack is futile. Given his grave wounds, Kuran provides flank for Darren only for a brief moment before moving further away from the abomination.

Std: attack, free: 5ft-step away. Token moved. Hit points updated.

"D-Don't count on m-me!" Kuran whimpers, steps forward, and thrusts his blade through the blue-eyed monstrosity.

Mwk longsword + studied target + bless + flank: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 261d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9 Threat!
Critical confirmation: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 8 lol nope

And somehow he manages to narrowly miss a decapitation maneuver, much to the disappointment of Darren.

If the boss monster decides to make a 5ft-step, Kuran will follow it and move a total of 10 feet into the most advantageous location in regard of flanking.

Kuran has his eyes locked to the skeletal champion, and thus he attacks the undead being with fright trembling his hands.

Mwk longsword + studied target + bless: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 81d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 = 11

But his trembling works against him, and his swing goes awry. Terrified of the being, he takes a step back, making way for Nijena to finish the abomination.

Standard action: Attack skeletal boss thing, free: 5ft-step.

Silver Crusade

Male Tiefling Inquisitor 2 | HP 21/21 | CMD 15 | AC 20, t 12, ff 18 | Fort +6 Ref +2 Will +6 (+2 vs. emotion) | Init +5, Perc +8

Kuran looks at the skeletal champion with terror, and makes an audible gulp. He takes a long hard look at the source of his horror, and then swings his sword at it, knowing the attempt is nearly futile.

Mwk longsword + bless + studied target + flank w/ Darren: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 211d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9

After a rather good swing, Kuran takes a cautious step closer towards the skeleton with the fiery, orange eyes.

Move action: Studied target, Standard action: attack, Free action: 5ft-step to provide flank to Blossym. I noticed both of them included flank in their attacks, so I'm guessing, based on the positions in the map, Kuran is meant to move one square. He is now correctly positioned.

You're right, Darren. I had posted my next action way too in advance, and of course forgot to correct the map after this.

"F-For Iomedae! Aah!" Kuran says with a trembling voice, dashing past all the three remaining skeletons, drawing their attention with his whimpering, shrieking, and overall puny attitude.

Double move, drawing all AoOs.

In addition he uses his prehensile tail (guess you didn't know he had one) to snatch the healing wand off of his belt, ready to use it. 9 charges remaining.

Protection from Evil on Darren. Spells depleted for the day.

Sorry, busy days and all kinds of crises.

Sighing heavily, Kuran whimpers as he once again curses his silly head for forgetting all his necessary equipment back at the Grand Lodge; a bludgeoning weapon, for one. Nevertheless, Iomedae's will commands Kuran to go forth and at least try to be valiant and vigorous, although that's the opposite he feels.

Kuran advances towards the battle, reluctantly, and stutters a chant for his allies to bring victory.

Kuran too.

Seeing Darren in a bad condition, and holding the wand in hand, Kuran begins to heal both Darren and Nijena. Roll the needed amount of heals. The wand still has 9 charges. Use the fountain first, since it doesn't use up our own mobile resources.

"D-Did I ever t-tell you I h-hate bats?" Kuran says, still trembling.

And just then Kuran has an epiphany; he has a partially used wand of cure light wounds! With that—and the rejuvenating effects of the fountain's water—he feels persistent, grabs the wand, and dashes to the central room.

"I-I'll keep you a-alive and well! W-with this w-wand!"

Move: draw wand, another move: move 20 feet. The token is in the right spot now.

Kuran is affected by bleed damage from the bat swarm, and if I'm correct he should get to the fountain this turn and quench his thirst, heal 2d8+3 or so and thus end the bleed effect. That's his primary concern, since he only has a handful of hit points left.

That is fair, yes. Beginning from February the gaps between messages have been cruelly long, 8 days even. Whenever a new post from GM came, though, there was a surge of posts lasting maybe 24 hours before dying down.

From time to time it's crucial to receive critique, especially in cases like this. I once ran a few PbP games on another site and at some point started to lose interest; the updates became scarce and short. Eventually one player (I knew them personally) spoke up, upset about my lack of commitment. I took it to the heart and got a grip of myself, and continued the game with a much increased posting pace.

"Oh we really should just flee!" Kuran whimpers. "O-or at least go to the h-healing fountain! Ow!" Remembering he's still bleeding, he rushes off to drink the sweet water of healing.

Bleed damage is nasty. Moving over to the fountain (using Relentless Footing if necessary to reach) and drinking from it as a standard action. I guess that suffices.

I'm hoping this'll be the much needed inspirational boost this game seriously needs. :)

I try to contain my curiosity, but I'm intrigued what happened back at the hospital? I'm guessing these boards boast a large number of dads, so I'm all about sharing the experience, be it good or bad. Then again, all came out alive and well, it seems.

Yes, I told before Kuran was retreating from the scene, since he has no weapons to fight the swarm. I could, of course, just repeat the same line over and over again, right?

EDIT: And it seems others are lacking motivation to post too, so I'm guessing this is a doomed effort anyway.

Kuran is taken aback by the tags and bags, quickly setting Blossym on the floor. He cautiously walks over to his own and looks at the items. "I-I don't know about y-you, but I'm s-scared about w-what this here i-is."

But since Kuran is able to identify the scroll using read magic to be what the tag says it to be, he takes a long, ponderous look at it. He does still have some of that sapping the shadow did a few days ago. It seems like forever they've been spelunking the crypt. Wanting to feel more than a burden for the group, he promptly begins to cast the spell on himself.
