I have no way to detect traps other than up here. Kroesh says as he taps the side of his head. I agree with Vance, that chest looks like bait to me. Give me the other end of that rope and you cinch it up tight. Everyone else keep an eye out behind us. Could be somethings just waiting for us all to start staring at the chest so it can stick something unpleasant in our backs.

I guess technically since Imrarel's turn happened before mine I would be able to see and would not be fumbling for my rope. Action: Kroesh will draw his greatsword and maneuver to AY60 and try to attack.
Greatsword to hit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 Damage:2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 = 16

'I cannot dispel this darkness. Don't wander off. Sound off when I call your name. We should gather up and try to get to a wall to keep our backs against while we try to get out of this. ...Imrarel.....Vance.....Tao.....Cathran... Kroesh says while getting his rope out of his backpack.

'The ogre's corpse has disappeared, this storm seems to be getting worse and we have no idea what we're looking for, but I'm fairly sure whatever it is knows about us already...I don't think splitting up is wise anymore.' Kroesh says in a quiet tone as if whatever is in the cave can hear him speak.

'Meat and water for me too.' Kroesh says to the waiter as he takes a seat next to Imrarel. 'My dream was the same as yours. It holds no meaning to me, but this bodes ill. Whatever inhabits that cave must be powerful. We should be prepared for anything this day...' Kroesh whispers. I am also going to be looking around the room for any sign of familiar faces or anyone who seems to be paying our group more attention than necessary.

After finishing his food Kroesh seeks out his companions. 'These folk could be makin noise all night thinkin' their ogre troubles are over. I'm getting one of the quiet rooms. If'n you want to sack out on the floor or just leave your stuff somewhere out of reach you're welcome. See you in the morning.' With that Kroesh will walk over and talk with the innkeeper and pay his 10 copper. Once in the room Kroesh will lay out his armor and greatsword on the bed, take out his oilcloth and whetstone and begin his ritual of sharpening and polishing. 'Sorry Belka...' his whispers as he slides the stone lovingly down the length of the blade...'Tomorrow we will find a worthy foe I promise.'

Vance wrote: 'I'm all for moving on, but I believe that our spell casters need preparation time!' Vance says to Tao. 'Perhaps we should go back to town to prepare??' 'I agree. Whatever is causing this storm is a bigger threat than this ogre was.' Kroesh says as he looks once again at the ogre's corpse. 'Besides...I came here for battle and so far all I've done is carry wood. By Gorum, my blade will taste blood before this is through!' Later at the Inn...Kroesh pushes his way through the crowd and finds a seat at one of the tables in the back and waves to one of women carrying food. 'Meat and ale!' he says in a voice loud enough to be heard over the noise of the celebration. OriginGM: I am choosing different spells for the next days outing.

Did the death of the ogre have any affect on the storm? What is the weather currently like? Imrarel wrote: 'An enchantment that could change a thinking being like that was created by a very powerful spellcaster. As well as well-to-do one based upon the quality of the shield itself.' 'Aye...There could be a more dangerous foe deeper in the cave. I'm thinking we should regroup back in town after we burn the dead. Gorum grants me better spells for handling mages than what I have prepared.'

Would I have been able to tell the strength of the enchantment from my spellcraft attempt? Kroesh keeps a cautious eye on the cave mouth...'If a curse was not the reason for the ogre's condition we may be dealing with powerful magic. I agree that we should dispose of the bodies. I suggest however that we enlist the help of some of the townsfolk to make the job faster. Most of the dead are probably local and their families may want to know their fate. One of us should go back and gather some help and some oil while the rest of us begin dragging out corpses and building a pyre.' he says.

'The ogre's corpse has magic about it...as does something in the cave. Kroesh says to those nearby him. 'Imrarel you said something about this place feeling wrong. I'm getting that feeling also.' 'Vance!...Tao!...look for something that does not belong in an ogre's cave, but be careful!'
