It seems our game has met with an unfortunate demise even before it started.
Please consider me removed from the game - I will hide it from my end.
Thank you all, and hope to see you around the boards!
Krezen followed Lusia’s pointing hand, eyes narrowing slightly as he studied the pale blue-green film clinging to the stones.
"That’s the stuff" - Krezen nodded - "Harmless, like I said… Just stubborn. With the river high from meltwater, it’ll spread quick."
He steps closer to the milling flow, crouching to look down the channel - "I can scrape it off for you later this morning. Won’t take long."
Straightening, he gives Lusia a small nod - "As for the Duke - he’s free to carve his own face into every rock from here to Hard Bay, I suppose. Long as he leaves ours be."
Krezen glances between Veini and Jormvo, then back to the mill wheel turning steady in the river - "You needed anything else while I’m in town?"
Krezen follows along with Veini Otra across the bridge, toward the mill.
Krezen glanced up as Veini knelt beside the pelts. The half-orc shook his head once - "Not this season. Hares stayed deep and the fox kept to the high drifts. I’ll keep an eye out next winter"
He nudged one of the bundles with his boot - "These’ll do for trade, though. I’ll find Anvar before he rolls out"
The mill door thumped open then, drawing Krezen’s attention. The Nenonen men stepping back out, Lusia Tiera among them, turned half the village’s heads. He watched the horses get led away, the wagon secured, rain slicking the boards.
The half-orc tightened the strap on his pack, gathering up the pelts - "Strange day for noble business" he murmured to Veini.
Krezen was already in Pebble Mill when the wagon arrived, having come down early to trade a few spring furs. He stood near the millpond now, a small stack of pelts bundled at his feet, watching the heavy horses snort clouds into the cool morning air.
The sigil of House Nenonen caught his eye. Nobles didn’t usually bother with Pebble Mill.
He shifted his weight, folding his arms across his chest as the workers dismounted and headed into the mill. The other villagers gave them wide, curious looks; Krezen simply frowned, more puzzled than suspicious.
Freeday was meant for rest, but clearly someone had business.
For the moment, he stayed where he was - quiet, observing.
Magical Aptitude could be thematically appropriate, and perfect for the character idea?
Sorry to hear it Tarja - good luck with RL!
Hmmmm Earthbreaker seems way too big to slaughter animals in general. I actually think a small hammer like a warhammer would make more sense, probably used to kill smaller animals like rabbits and such. I seriously doubt larger animals were slaughtered with a blunt instrument.
Come on man... Butchering Axe for a Butcher. I mean. Perfect match?

I know I have seen a few racial mods on some of the descriptions so far. I am thinking on what I am wanting to do with those. I know I saw Lodric take a human racial variant. I do like the tie in with the backstory. It also isn't a min/max switch. With a classic dungeon campaign there are going to be poisons that will make that -2 not so fun. That being said, I am not stamping the seal of approval on anything as of yet outside of me loving these classes.
For now, plan 100% core only. As I understand it, it’s core for now. Exceptions (maybe) allowed for story and flavor if it isn’t min maxing In that case I would like to have Sacred Tattoo for my Half-Orc. Looks amazing as far as story and flavor goes ;) you could always ask the DM about it, but you've also got lamellar and blunt arrows in your equipment which also dont fall under core so I think a few of us are kind of waiting on the DM ruling on equipment Ack! Herolab threw me off!
Thanks for catching it - it has now been corrected ;)

Yeah, though carrying it as a cane, or as a walking stick vs. being learned on fighting with it are two VERY different things right? ;)
I'm just being a grumbling old grognard - all this is up to DM Ashlar of course.
The hanbo is even worse :D
And none of those are Core, by the way :P
Brathas wrote: Nor does he have much interaction with Krezen, as the half-orc is rather a recluse. However, Krezen did bring home his friend Venla (one of the actresses) when she was lost in the woods a few years back, so Brathas holds a good opinion of the trapper. Sounds good :)
Krezen is not a big fan of the 'the-a-ter', but maybe Venla showed some stoicism while out in the woods - that is something he would respect.
Jermaine wrote: Okay.
What he's bought
260 GP total: 50 GP weapons, 130 GP protection, 40 GP Limited Use, 40 GP Gear.
Weapon Dagger for 2 gold
Protection Haramaki 3 gold
Gear: Spell book (Empty) 15 gp, Inkpen 1 sp, Ink 2 vials 16 gp, Backpack 2 gp, spell component pouch 5gp (total 38 gold and 1 sp)
As he's hoping to go the wizard path, and is sure he is MEANT to be a wizard (big dreams!) obviously much of his stuff is in that hope :)
Otherwise he travels as light as he can because encumbrance is a monster that eats weaklings like him
So we are out in the boonies, and you got yourself an Haramaki? Come on man, it is an Eastern inspired 'armor' :D
I think Krezen would only have a passing knowledge of the other inhabitants, nods and grunts is all.

Will one of you be kind enough to let me know what was decided for equipment? Are we rolling or have a set amount, or neither? :)
It seems ages ago since the Paizo forums were up.
DM Ashlar wrote it in the recruitment on the second page
DM Ashlar wrote: Oh my... I do apologize. If I miss something please let me know. Let's go with the 1 level NPC spread.

Thanks!

We are getting PC class levels eventually, right? I like having basic roadmaps for characters and their development, as it helps me find their voice.
If I’m right about that, would it be suitable for Lodric to be building towards a Chosen One Paladin? If so, what I am thinking is that as a familiar he will have an Emissary Creeper Ivy familiar. At the moment it grows on the back wall of his butcher shop. He feeds it scraps that would otherwise be thrown away as a disposal system. It is oddly subdued, not lashing out at people who get close. He believes it is because he feeds it, and that prayers said when doing so don’t hurt either. As foreshadowing for when he gets a class level. With the vines growing around his back and shoulders, and which glow with divine light when it uses abilities. I figured that it would be a good visual tie in to his humble origins. Does this work for campaign direction?
Personally I prefer not making any plans, as level 1 characters die easily. Or at least I hope the possibility of it happening is real. Otherwise, what is the point? ;)
But in any case Chosen One Paladin is not Core I believe?

Understood DMB.
If you ever wish to run another game, and need a player, you can count on me ;)
I guess it is a fair analysis of the game DMB and Tenro - ever since I started, the pace was never amazing - sometimes the players would not post, sometimes the GM would not post - all put together it makes for a game that instead of being slow, drags itself along...
And people tend to get detached from games like that I think - I think this is what happened here. Even if the interest is not lost, the enthusiasm is...
Yeah, we may have an issue to track everything... That being said, we could use some Arcane support. Maybe Mundarion? We could also use some clerical buffing.
"Yep, let's get this moving" - Krezen nods.
Right you are, I was forgetting that 'small' detail.
Jan, I think we can all do great with it. Personally I would prefer it to the belt.
And as DMB said, it does not need to be held.
Deal Gemheart.
"Time we go back and return someone their lost mojo, right lads?"
Going back to Harumon.
Jan Carpenter wrote: Krezen wrote: Aaaaaah sorry didn't notice it :D Yeah, I missed it at first. If Krezen wants the new Bardiche, he could give his old +1 one to Gemheart. For me it is fine either way. Up to Gemheart ;)
Aaaaaah sorry didn't notice it :D

"Hmm, this bardiche could be quite useful, considering our foe. Anyone care to use it, or shall i?"
"Keep it lad - it'll be in good hands" - Krezen nods.
Other than that, I think we could get going?

"Hmm, this bardiche could be quite useful, considering our foe. Anyone care to use it, or shall i?"
There's a bardiche? :D
"We gave you a chance" - Reknar shakes his head - "You should have taken it" - then looks at the orb - "I know a guy who will be very happy with this"
Apart from that, I'm going to assist Gemheart with the search.
It wasn't so much as delaying as it was completely unable to post...
Krezen moves around his companions and attacks - "You will pay for having tried to fool us!" - he roars.
Going to H:10 and attacking.
Bardiche +1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Damage if it hits: 1d10 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23
Bardiche +1 CRITS?: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Additional damage if it crits: 1d10 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23
--Status--
AC: 19
HP: 47/56
Effects: Inspire Courage +2, Mirror Image (4 images)
GM DMB any Knowledge we can roll to know more about this thing?
Krezen casts a spell which conjures multiple copies of himself.
Mirror Image: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 Images
Ok, thanks for clarifying DMB - Krezen goes to G:5 then.
Gemheart, remember the +2 from Inspire, ok? And you added the Charge bonus?
Sorry guys, site was off for me most of the day yesterday.
"Everyone's looking for a fight in this place boys - let us not disappoint them, shall we boys?"
Starting Inspire Courage (Bonus = +2) and planning to move to G:5, but it will depend on what the purple thing is. Is it a wall?
We have realized he/she is not the Shadow of Karavakos, so I say this is the one we are looking for ;)
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
"We are looking for one named Tala - we have business to conduct with her, and an offer she cannot refuse, in atonement for the wrong doing she has carried out" - Reknar shrugs - "This may be her last chance..."
"That seems to be her modus operandi" - Krezen grunts and adds - "Not for long though"
He looks at the others - "Are we ready to go then boys?"
Thank you GM DMB ;)
"In fact there is" - Krezen nods - "We are looking for Tala - would you know her whereabouts?"
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
"If you are asking me... I dunno, might be worth a shot also - I'm just saying we could 'pretend' our plan is to open a portal, and in that case why not make it something we already know he doesn't like?" - Krezen shrugs.
Krezen ponders the options before them, while looking at the disembodied head - "Maybe we can somehow convince him that is our plan, even if we do not mean to follow through... Do you know who this man was?"
Krezen had been listening closely to the Shadow, trying to ascertain if there are perhaps ulterior motives to its behaviour.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
"I think it is at least worth a shot - worst comes to worse and we're double crossed somehow, we just take everyone down with us" - he snarls, then turning to the head at his side - "Any idea what could be of interest to your brother after all this time?" - he inquires.
I am still on vacations ;)
"And what would you want in exchange for such knowledge - maybe we can have a civilized talk for a change in this pyramid?" - Krezen pipes in.
"Let's get the hell outta here" - Krezen grumbles, and motions for the other to bail out.
I've been acting after you Jan.
Krezen moves forward in a straight line, then uses the head of Vyrelis to magically move himself to the exit - "Hah!"
Moves to H:16 then ports to K:23.
Guys, dropping a line to let you know I will be going on vacations from the 20th until the 30th June. Will have access to internet, and will probably be able to post here and there during those 10 days, but in between family, SUN, beach, swimming pool and summer beverages, the posts will have to wait a tad ;)
This time around Krezen simply moves, and stops for a rest behind Jan.
Move only, to B:16.
Krezen moves forward to meet up with Jan, and fires a single shot.
Going to C:7. Firing at B1
Longbow: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Damage if it hits: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
I am waiting for Gemheart.
