Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Thanks for letting us know about Trevor, Pixie.

It's been a great and awesome time playing with you All.

Seems this AP slowed us down for some reason but it certainly was not for lack of skill or creative talent of anyone in this game, IMHO.

I'd be thrilled should this game come back some time, but if not, I'll warm myself with the many fond memories of adventures shared here.

Thanks so much y'all! : )

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Ya hope so too!

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Have I missed something?

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Oh Sorry! Didn't realize Korian was up! For some reason didn't get a new message blip on the Campaigns page

Korian backs away from the vampire and calls up powerful magic, greatly speeding up his allies. He also pulls out a wand of scorching ray from his haversack.
Casts Haste on everyone (not baddies)
Cast Defensively DC21: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25 (I believe it's auto-success for Korian with a 3rd level spell, but here's the roll anyway)

Meanwhile tracking it's foe, the air elemental continues it's attack on the vampire nearest Korian
Slam Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 1 = 24 Air Elemental AC17 HP15
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Haste Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 1 = 19 Air Elemental AC17 HP15
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Haven't included the minuses for level drain...

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Apoligies! Full weekend

The air elemental flies at one of the vampires (whichever is least accessible from the ground) and slams it's fists into the undead thing before veering out of reach into the room.

Slam Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 AC17 HP15
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Meanwhile Korian, seeing the true nature of the threat revealed, quickly prepares and casts a spell to protect the minds of himself and his companions

Casts: Protection from Evil, Communal. Duration approx 15 rounds each.

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Is that their action for round one?

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

If Sykala has had time to cast Stoneshape, then Korian must have finished his Summon Monster I by now. So if so, a small air elemental appears and begins to attack the mist

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Yep, Korian is still up there, but Sykala said she moved

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Can we tell if it is just one big vapour, or several different ones? I'm thinking perhaps the paracount has finally caught up to us??

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Also beginning to think trouble is brewing, Korian begins the spell to summon a small air elemental.

Init when needed: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Vampires??

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Pausing in his investigations Korian leans down to look and, alarmed, yells "It might be poison! Plug the holes back up!"

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

I'm assuming Korian doesn't know about the vapour yet?

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Korian gets Ovirid to boost him up and then checks out the small chamber himself.

Once inside he does his best to determine what the different objects might be.

Lots of K arcana and Spellcraft rolls. Feel free to use your home dice DM T and avoid all the posting.

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

How high is the roof? Could we boot each other or Korian stand on Ovirid's shoulder's or something high enough to get Jinx in the chamber, so he can push everything out?

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

While the others work on the staves, Korian waits to see what Sykala may have found in the chamber

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Korian wait to see what Sykala sees in the chamber, indicating for her to check it if it does not seem like she is going to do so.

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

As Ovirid explains his findings (the old Dwarf had a terrible, yet endearing, habit of mumbling to himself out loud while he worked) Korian speaks up "Hmmm, you know, perhaps that's not a trap at all, but a trigger for a secret door or the like. Shall I press it?"

If his offer is declined he assists Ovirid in examining the device further.

Aid Another traps: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

As he works he says over his shoulder to Refina "You know, I can remove those staves from a distance, perhaps that might be safer?

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

As the get with range, Korian carefully uses a cantrip to detect the whole section of tunnel, gem encrusted staves and all. He takes his time doing it, also consulting with Ixius on it as he does.

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Yup!

Content to continue to allow the Druidess to lead them and trusting in his Dwarven friend's ability to sniff out a trap, Korian follows along.

To speed things up whenever necessary, until further notice, please consider Korian at present as following the druidess whenever she may go. (that he is able to follow her of course ; )

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Are my posts not showing up for you somehow Tarren?

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Having no clue as yet what the sandals are for, Korian nevertheless puts them over his footwear and indicates to Sykala for her to lead on

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Looking around at everything visible, Korian tries to puzzle out what the shoes could be for.

Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
Int check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Already indicated Korian is following Sykala

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Not knowing for how long or how many more times they will have be in gaseous form, Korian begins to fill as many empty vessels as he has with more of the liquid, explaining his actions to the others and suggesting they do the same.

If none do, or once all are ready, he again quaffs a dose of the liquid and follows Sykala wherever she leads.

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Once in the new area, Korian resumes solid form and detects magic on the pool while studying it, trying to determine it's properties.

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

So are we boys all on our own without the girls? I thought it was understood we were all going together? Would be pretty foolish to do otherwise, especially considering how we've fared in here so far

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

As will Korian

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

As does Korian. Before he does so though though he asks aloud [b]"I wonder, are we supposed to travel though these tubes in gaseous form, or somehow use the song to travel through them?

As an experiment he tries whistling the first tune near the tubes. If that doesn't work, he tries blowing on them until he can find the tubes that make the notes of the song.

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Still not entirely trusting of the...being, Korian nevertheless thanks them sincerely before departing with the others.

Are any sort of rolls needed to remember the songs?

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Ignoring the man's question for now, Korian asks another "Well in that case, we might be considered allies, at least for the moment. As such, the more you can tell us about yourself, this place and your involvement with it, the better able we will be able to trust and work with our 'new ally'. So, what more can, or will, you tell us?"

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Shuddering at the mention of the scroll and the memory of the reason it had been used, Korian takes a moment to steady his voice and then ask again "Who are you? And why are you helping us, if that is in fact what you're doing?"

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

"Sorry friend, no walking stick, but perhaps this can accomplish the same purpose" and pulling a crowbar ouit of his haversack, Korian proceeds to probe the ground ahead of them, making sure the illusion isn't coveing up some trap or other danger.

Yeah! Finally get to use my Mage Hand! : D

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Do we can a chance to disbelieve the illusions, now that we know they're there? If so... Will Save: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 7 - 2 = 14

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Not willing to go closer until he knows more about the woman, Korian calls out, cursing himself silently for the hesitationm in his voice "Hel...hello! Can you hear me? Who are you and what is this place??"

And thanks for the spell boost Refina!

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

and anything about the woman?

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Really? Wow, wish I'd know that weeks ago and saved myself all the angst about having to re-work him (plus the few minutes of work it only actually took too ; )

Luckily I was at least bright enough to save a copy of the original character sheet. So restoring him (to his proper reduced state) is no problem.

Don't have the books but I'll look up the proper section.

Thanks all!

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

D'oh! How big does this place seem to be?

At the sight of the woman, Korian gasps quietly and takes an involuntary step back. Growling at himself in anger at his own cowardice, he steps forward again. Immediately suspicious of the scene before them, Korian magically enhances his gaze to detect the traces of magic, and spends sometime scanning the room, particularly the woman. He also looks closely to see if it's anyone (deadly) that he recognizes.

He also quietly asks Jinx what he scents coming out of the room.

Do I need to do anything to try and disbelieve an illusion?

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

@Ovirid: Oh, right, the bumps are every 4 levels yes? Didn't take anything extra on the way up, just remembered when we got them wrong. So ok, he doesn't take the -1 to Int I guess then.

@Kevin: Is that right? Well that would be much easier. I was under the impression that being reserected made him lose two permanent levels. (unless Restored) Anyone know for sure?

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Ok, FINALLY got around to leveling down Korian. Here are the changes made:

-1 Int (lvl 6 ability score bump)
-14HP
-1 Fort, Ref & Will
-1 BAB
-14 Skill Points
-3 Feats (lvl 5,7 & lvl 5 bonus)
-2 3rd lvl spells (none available)
-1 2nd lvl spell

Jinx needed some significant changes as well (and he's no longer celestial...not sure how that works out though, game-wise, as he is a celestial weasel, not a weasel who was made celestial) but I didn't bother to change his stats. If you need me too though, I will.

If I'm missing anything else, please let me know

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Pausing a moment to load his crossbow and cast mage armor on himself with his wand, a much Korian prepares to enter through the doors after at the end of the procession.

If Light is needed, he casts it on whatever seems most appropriate.

Great maps!

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Wow! That's handy!

Korian takes a ring, a look of complete surprise on his face "Even after all this time, you never cease to amaze me old friend. These shall prove useful I am sure."

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

No apologies necessary mate. But, it really shouldn't be too hard. I'm sure none of us need anything fancy. The spreadsheet on google docs seems to work pretty well for making maps that are easy to share. Or even something crudely drawn and scanned?

Sighing at the inevitability of all their deaths, the depleted young mage is nevertheless clearly not entirely unhappy with the fact that he will not have to die in this pyramid all by himself.

With a small smile at the corner of his mouth he pushes off from the wall and says "The only way I'm leaving this pyramid is with what we came here to get. So, if you're all as insane as I am, what are we waiting for?" as he motions to the door leading out of the room.

@Refina: Seems pretty clear that the infernal dude is counting down deaths. Wonder if Korian's still counts?

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Hey Gang, just got back, Korian will be happy (even if he barely shows it) that he will not be dying there all alone. But just to confirm first, is Ovirid now saying that he wants to leave the temple, by using the gaseous potions?

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

[Poc]Am away this weekend, please DMPC Korian as necessary. Have a good one![/ooc]

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Hey Korian didn't depress everyone too much or anything did he??

I'm not saying that [I]I[/o] want to stop playing, just trying to RP how I honesdtly feel my poor your mage would be feeling about now. It seems pretty clear to him at this point that he's led his companions into a death trap and he truly doubts his ability to get them out safely again. Thus his proposal.

Sorry if my post put anyone in a difficult position??

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Waking from his long sleep and seeming marginally improved, any slight cheer he may have had is evaporated by the Dwarf's recounting of his disturbing experience.

Leaning against the wall where he sits and closing his eyes, Korian sighs deeply, and is quiet a moment more before opening his eyes and saying in a defeated voice "Ovirid, my old friend, I am so sorry. I am so sorry to you all, for dragging you all into this hell pit of a cursed Orisian pyramid! I scarce even recall what our reason for coming here was. Whatever the reason was though, it obviously shant be accomplished with our deaths."

Sighing again, he stands and continues "This cursed pyramid has already killed me once, and left me half-alive, and I can't escape the feeling that it shall soon become my final resting place. I suppose there's worse places to be entombed than in the burial pryamid of the most fabled Pharaohs of one's country, is there? Ha. I shall continue on as far as I can, if for no other reason than to seek some small revenge on whatever malicious force is behind all that has happened to us. But I ask you, all of you, to leave me to it. For I would not have all of your deaths upon my conscience. All I ask of you is that you take Jinx with you when you leave" this last directed mostly at Sykala.

As his speech concludes the ferret in question begins chittering furiously at his forlorn master, but for his part, Korian seems to completely ignore the tiny furious predator.

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

Korian is sleeping like the dead. Only the slight rise and fall of his chest indicates that he has not, in fact, passed beyond the veil once again.

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Male Human Rogue 1/ Wizard 6 (but Drained 2 levels)

More exhausted than he has ever been in his life, what with the many strange and harrowing things that have happened this day, Korian plops down and mutters "I am not going one step further."

Very soon after this he has arranged his sleeping pallet and is fast asleep. Jinx sits atop him, beady ever vigilant and bright.

Doing I happen to recall something about a full restoration once someone had got some sleep? Refina?? ; )
