Koilia scouts, Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Poorly.
scrounges up food and useful herbs, Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Incompetently.
and offers myths of the Nomen during the evenings to those willing to listen. Knowledge(Religion): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 You sit with the master.
En route to Oleg's, the laconic Koilia walks along Wilhelm as he rides, and asks,
Why have you come here?
Male Human Monk 2
Lanya has Koilia's assent.
Anastacia, and her God, are given thanks by Koilia.
He quietly packs, sees to helping Wilhelm, and shoulders a load of goods. When the group hits the trail to Olegs, Koilia trots along side the horses. He holds the pace, and keeps his own company.
Hurray we survived! That could have been bad. Very. Oh, and I believe Sweet is now dead, Lanya and Wilhelm. I'm pretty sure his diehard feat kept him standing until a mighty smitation from Anastacia. After which, he collapsed, dead on the spot.
Male Human Monk 2
at Wilhelm
Wilhelm, you God Saved. No, Nomen horses no work. Koilia's speech is thicker in Sylvan than usual. He seems bothered by something.
to Lanya and the group
That guy...angered...me. I don't want worry until next meeting. Track and overcome. He bring more evil men to take brother and kill us. Koilia looks into the woods where Jake rode off.
Koilia has fought in battles, killed, and seen others killed. He has never, however, been around cut-throats and thieves. Their depravity is bewildering to the naive Koilia.
His emotions even again, Koilia regards the group.
Anastacia, I will be glad for your Pharasma's healing. Unless another has claim, may I use bow? pointing to the +1 bow of John.
Male Human Monk 2
B#####d threw fire at me! This, I can't abide.
Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Koilia runs, and takes one last shot at the fleeing bandit.
Move 40 ft, and attack. I'm not sure what penalties to take for cover.
Attack, Bow: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 1 = 17,Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Koilia rejoins the others, saying nothing. He regards everyone, in turn, with a look of consideration and concern.
Male Human Monk 2
Rinse and repeat.
Flurry at John. If the first shot downs John, I'd like to take a shot at the alchemist-cum-jean-model.
Flurry 1 with bless: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 = 14, Arrow Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Flurry 2 with bless: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 = 10, Arrow Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Male Human Monk 2
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Koilia hears a lilting, elven voice transmogrify into something monstrous. Marick just joined the fray.
Sweet is still hammering away. Wilhelm is at his feet dead or dying. This is concerning. A few, choice shots might improve that situation. Yet, John is about to lay-out Lanya.
Decisions.
John it remains. (And Koilia likes Wilhelm, too!). Lanya can't afford a wasted shot, right now.
Perfect Shot
Wasted? Perhaps.
Flurry 1,a: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 = 16,Arrow Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Flurry 1,b: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 1 = 15
Flurry 2: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 = 6
Male Human Monk 2
to Lanya
"Keep on the magical one." Koilia suggests in Sylvan.
Continuing his attack on the alchemist seems unwise (or at least not expedient). Koilia shifts his aim, unloading another volley; this time at the horseman.
Flurry 1: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 = 11 Arrow Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Flurry 2: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 = 16 Arrow Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Male Human Monk 2
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Delay action to Sweet attacking. If Sweet uses diplomacy, I continue standing with bow readied. If Sweet attacks, flurry of blows(arrows) into the alchemist, then five foot step into the woods beside me.
Flurry,1: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 = 16: Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Flurry,2: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 = 13: Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Male Human Monk 2
Hopefully, I can play my part well.
Koilia watches Anastacia move off into the woods to the west. He hears the orders bellowed, and is struck by her chutzpah.
Recovering, he runs straight east through the woods, then northwest to join the party of bandits. He noisily arrives in the woods just outside the camp. Through his Sylvan accent, Koilia yells:
I shoot down New Stetven Law Dogs!!
Intimidate: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10 Or a bluff check (which has same adds) to convince bandits I will defend Lanya.
Then, to Lanya as he walks into the bandit camp with bow readied:
Αποκτήστε δίπλα μου!
Sylvan for "Get beside me!"
Koilia's arrow is trained away from most of the bandits, and at the sound of Anastacia's voice.
If this works, we will have bandits in the cross fire. I hope I didn't just get myself killed.
Male Human Monk 2
Following cue, Koilia freezes. Maybe they think Lanya made all that racket, and not an innocent, little, orphan monk....
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 Bow is readied.
Male Human Monk 2
Koilia's hackles are up.
whispers to the group
Those fools are in cups. One or two may be in bush. Don't know. Weary of ambush.
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Koilia is seeing poorly. He ungainly moves in the night toward an offensive position.
Male Human Monk 2
To Lanya
Εάν έχετε κυνήγι δαίμονες, αποσκοπώντας όχι στην καρδιά.
"If you hunt demons, aim not at the heart." Koilia translates.
After reflecting for a moment, he continues:
My eyes see not so well, tonight. Elf sees in night like fox. Lanya and Marick lead to camp at night. We surround camp. Lay low. Lanya and Marick set fire to camp. We shoot from darkness.
If no night killing, honest fight in morning at dawn.
Male Human Monk 2
Lanya
"I will track and scout or set ambush by your leave."
Male Human Monk 2
Anastacia, I'm sorry that I missed where you tended the dead. I revoke my sky-burial.
Male Human Monk 2
Koilia listens to the bandits during the interrogations. He offers to dress their wounds (if any remain after whatever cures are spent).
If the GM allows survival to count for dressing wounds:
Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
If not:
Heal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
After the bandits have been seen to, Koilia approaches Viktor.
I give ceremony.
With the subtitles on:
"I would give the dead funerary ceremony, by your leave."
If no one has objections, Koilia clears an area twenty feet west of the wagon. He drags the bodies there, placing each in a row, spread eagle. He then pulls some incense from his pouch, lights it, and chants for a minute or two.
Birds of prey, especially the scavenging variety, soon wheel overhead. They seem enticed by both the bodies and the incense.
Koilia rejoins the group after chanting.
Male Human Monk 2
Koilia takes a step to the side, and launches two arrows at the eastern bandit.
Flurry: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 2 = 191d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 41d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Do not kill them. We can track from their wounds. I ask no more death.
Koilia then readies himself for a long run.
Male Human Monk 2
Koilia takes a shot at a wounded, flatfooted bandit.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 16
If that hits Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
He then turns, hightailing it behind the wagon. He's already pushed his luck too hard. En route, Koilia witnesses the horrid and awesome carnage of Wilhelm's falchion.
30 ft move; duck behind wagon. I'll be camping here, popping up to Flurry on my turns.
Male Human Monk 2
Koilia receives a light cut to the torso. He needs to regroup.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 to barely tumble past bandits.
Koilia moves 20 ft, then takes his second move to jump the stream.
Acrobatics, jump: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
He somehow lands on the slick, muddy side of the stream without losing his footing.
Male Human Monk 2
Koilia skids to a halt and tries to ensconce himself in some thick bushes when bandits round the corner. Caught with his pants down. Plan B: shoot, then run.
Adding Bless and Inspire (though I can only hear Viktor, not see him). Shooting the adjacent bandit north-west of me.
Flurry: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 2 = 181d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Male Human Monk 2
Marick: sorry to hear your family was sick.
I assume the bandit is quite dead, and suffers overkill if bless is counted on Viktor's attack.
Koilia immediately takes position to the east of the group, over the stream. He is taking an offensive position, and is also watching for more bandits.
Double move action of 75 ft to hide behind bush.
Acrobatics, jump: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20 in case I need a check for clearing the stream.
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 to stealthily move into position.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Delay action. If bandits come, I will let a handful of bandits get by, then shoot the ones in the rear. (Or just shoot bandits when I get discovered.)
Male Human Monk 2
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Ouch.
Koilia holds his cover until he pops up from behind the wagon and shoots.
Flurry of Blows, using Perfect Strike for first shot
Flurry 1,Perfect Strike: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 221d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
I want that bandit's armor if a 22 doesn't hit (despite all the penalties)
Hit Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
and the second shot
Flurry 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
If 12 hits:
Hit Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Male Human Monk 2
Koilia volunteers to scout.
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
He moves forward a short distance, and quietly takes position behind the wagon.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
He carefully observes the scene.
Male Human Monk 2
At the Spider Den/"Pet Sematary"
Koilia tries to retrieve arrows from the carcass. GM discretion
He brushes aside a small hunk of who-knows-what from Wilhelm's shoulder when he emerges from the den.
Wilhelm
Thank you for braving the den.
Pharast 3
Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
The group seems to track well, Koilia observes.
He nods with Lanya in agreement with Viktor.
Male Human Monk 2
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 >= 17, thus I also gain a full action.
Not adding Inspire, yet
Standard Action: attack with bow: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Confirm Crit: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Now adding Inspire
Flurry of Blows: 1d20 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 + 1 = 131d20 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 + 1 = 2
Miss and miss.
Male Human Monk 2
Koilia remains in position for perhaps a minute. He stands, Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
and returns to the group a little less than quietly.
He seems slightly embarrassed as he addresses Viktor.
I don't think we need fight the beast.
We are safe if we don't enter its territory. Anyone with eyes can see where its territory is. Our fight is with evil men, not nature's own.
If we attack, I will fight without regret or hesitation.
Male Human Monk 2
Wilhelm, Lanya Beladon, and Marick are all affably met by Koilia. He is respectful, but keeps his thoughts to himself. Common is not his native language. You could say he speaks Sylvan with a Common accent. Koilia seems fresh from his tribe, and a little out-of-sorts surrounded by humans and horses.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 5 = 19 to see spider and trap-door.
Koilia walks along the edge of the graveyard, up the side of the hillock.
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 to stealthily walk the parameter to gain a good shooting position.
He takes up position about 80ft from the party, and readies his bow. Delay action..
Male Human Monk 2
With Viktor
Koilia genially replies,
"Αυτό γίνεται." (I've decided Greek equates to Sylvan.)
He imitates Viktor's gesture.
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14 To determine how well Koilia shake's Viktor's hand.
Male Human Monk 2
Casimir-Sorry to hear that. I, at least, completely understand.
Male Human Monk 2
With Viktor
Kiolia---pleased with the respectful introduction--studies Viktor's expression for only a brief moment before saying,
"My people honor the warrior of peace above all else."
"I am Koilia, and the Nomen are my people---to the south-east of here. We are fleet of foot, and skilled with the bow. These skills I offer for both our people." After another appraising glace, "Your people look ready to move."
Male Human Monk 2
Kiolia enters Oleg's outpost in the company of Lt. Caminski.
Taking a moment to reconnoiter, he observes the signs of fresh battle. Patiently, Koilia watches Oleg, Lt. Caminski, and Viktor during the early morning discussion. With the discussion concluded, Kiolia approaches Viktor.
Through a thick, Sylvan accent he says
Weyekin speak of more warring. Would you have my aid?
