Male Human Paladin 4

I figured as much, which is why I asked.

I will take a cloak of resistance (and awesome looking blowing in the wind!) +1 in place of the Muleback cords

Male Human Paladin 4

Carrying Capacity: Light 918 Medium 1839 Heavy 2760 Lift 2760 Drag 5720

Just let me know if that seems entirely unreasonable, GM. I know that encumbrance is a key factor in FO games, so this might be out of line for you.

Male Human Paladin 4

Items purchased: (all function as part of armor components, btw)

Heavyload Belt (constant ant haul effect. 2k gp

Muleback Cords (shoulder slot, Str +8 for lifting/carrying calculations) 1k gp

Amulet Natural Armor +1 (well, gee...) 2k gp

Traveler's Any-Tool (turns into any hand tool as needed) 20gp

750 gp in ammo/food/traveling materials (combat armor gp cost?)

Male Human Paladin 4

"A foolish decision, she failed her kill-shot yet continued to fire on superior numbers. Too bad we couldn't take her alive, I assume an interrogation would have yielded actionable intel."

Edward let's his armor's self-repair technology patch itself up, after it fixed his own wounds.

"Do we recognize the insignia? And did she carry anything of value other than her rifle and armor?"

Male Human Paladin 4

Edward continues his slow and implacable walk, firing again as he approaches.

Move 20', shoot again, LoH for healing.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 to hit; 3d10 ⇒ (2, 5, 2) = 9 laser damage

2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5 HP healed

HP 36/36, LoH 2/4, Laser Rifle 19/24

Male Human Paladin 4

Edward moves forward 20', unslinging his laser rifle while his auto-healing armor mod kicks in.

Lay-on-Hands 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7 hp healed

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 to hit; 3d10 ⇒ (10, 3, 4) = 17 laser damage

HP 31/36, Lay on Hands: 3/4,Laser Rifle charges remaining 20/24

Male Human Paladin 4

I concur. Let's walk for the moment.

Male Human Paladin 4

Jeez, Iowa?

What the heck is out there? :)

Glad to have you back, GM

Male Human Paladin 4

Agreed, Marcel. At the least we talk and get intel.

"We should check out those fellows we got our blades from. Perhaps they have some more intel on this cult or its leader."

Male Human Paladin 4

"I do not trust this mysterious man. He seems to be too familiar with our happenings, and asks for too little in return for something which should be practically impossible. Thanks, but no thanks, Mr. Top Hat."

Male Human Paladin 4

"I know. But I could not refuse a direct order from my commanding officer. I can only hope they understand, and any hard feelings can be ameliorated."

Male Human Paladin 4

Edward stands, saluting before belting his sword back on and picking up his gear.

"I will not let you down, sir."

Male Human Paladin 4

"Yes sir. Standby."

Edward looks through his PipBoy and retrieves the location.

"If I may, sir, the folks who provided these weapons were most insistent they remain out of sight. If a Brotherhood team approached them, I feel it very likely to end in bloodshed. Perhaps I can set up some form of diplomacy between them and us; our previous interaction came about due to some good we did them. I hope they bear me and my team some remaining goodwill. Only my advice and observation of course, sir."

1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15 diplomacy

Male Human Paladin 4

"Naturally, sir."

Edward unclips the bastard sword from its belt before handing the weapon over.

"We encountered a small cache of such weapons out in the wastes, sir."

Male Human Paladin 4

Yeah saw that.

It's only 115 days until release, btw.

Male Human Paladin 4

"With all due respecr, sir, why doesn't the Brotherhood simply engage with modern technology and tactics? If they choose to.line up and present themselves as targets, it would be a simple matter to eliminate them from range. Unless there's something more complicated at play here, sir."

Male Human Paladin 4

Sorry. Read this and forgot I didn't post. My bad.

"Sir, can you tell us anything more about this resistance? Capabilities, tactics, attitude? Anything that may help narrow down our approach?" 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21 diplomacy

Edward looks at the image very carefully, trying to fix the man's features and overall appearance in memory.

"How about this guy? Position? Reasons for operating against us? Any history on him?" 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25 diplomacy

Male Human Paladin 4

"Commander. This is my ally and friend Scab. He assisted greatly on my last mission, and I consider him a good friend d. How may I be of assistance, sir?"

Edward unseals and removes his helmet, setting his gear and backpack in the corner of the room before sitting in the offered seat.

He waits patiently for the Star Paladin to continue.

Male Human Paladin 4

"Paladin Edward Monroe, reporting as ordered, Sir. I trust you received my earlier data transmissions. If there were any gaps or errors, I would be glad to resend from my PipBoy again while here."

Edward doesn't even drop his backpack or a sorted gear before reporting to the Commander, standing stock still at attention the entire time.

He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but even Edward knows when major changes come down like this.

Male Human Paladin 4

Edward suits up as soon as he can, much more comfortable wrapped up in steel again.

Male Human Paladin 4

"Of course, Father Ahab. If you ever need assistance, seek me out."

Edward offers his hand to the elder in true friendship, before taking his leave.

Once on the boat, he readies his laser rifle and remains vigilant for threats.

Male Human Paladin 4

"I will comply with the Grandmaster's orders. Our route back to Old Orleans and the outpost may very well take us through some scavenge or other interesting locations."

Male Human Paladin 4

"That sounds workable. We did complete our goal out here, if in a roundabout fashion. Perhaps the swamp folks can point us in a good direction?"

Male Human Paladin 4

"I am glad I could be of service." Edward takes the caps reluctantly, and bids farewell.

Rejoined with the others, "My vision showed me an attack from the skies. An orbital bombardment of nuclear weapons. I ran and ran, only to be challenged by a monstrous figure of muscles and teeth, with two great white eyes. I do not know quite what it mea s, but I am sure of one thing. I must be the paragon of justice and goodness for this blasted wasteland. Others have tried, and failed. I do not fear their fate, I welcome the challenge, and look forward to changing this place for the better."

Male Human Paladin 4

"I regret the need for violence, but the man would not listen to reason." Edward watches Clara head off safely before turning to speak to Simon again.

"Listen carefully, I am only going to say this once. Leave her alone. She may have returned your affections in the past, but that does not grant you a claim to her body or personage. If I hear you have mistreated her, or anyone else, I will return and exact a furious punishment on you. I will be speaking to the elder post haste, in case you think to spread lies of what a happened here."

Once Simon has been adequately warned, Edward heads to speak to the elder, advising him of Simon's behavior, likely intoxication, as well as the state of his wounds and location. If any punishment or reprimand is coming, Edward accepts it without complaint or heaitation.

Male Human Paladin 4

"You have one more chance. Release her and walk away, or experience pain. Your choice, Simon."

Edward steps up as close as possible, giving Simon his chance. If he does anything other than release the girl and walk away, he slugs him.

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 to hit, Smite evil, 1d3 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 non lethal damage.

Male Human Paladin 4

"Pardon me, Simon. Ms. Dunwater seems to not desire such intimate touching from you at this time. I would kindly ask you to release her and cease such behavior."

Edward strives to keep his tone even and relatively non-threatening, but is extremely ready to deliver violence upon this this wannabe date-rapist.

Move action: detect evil on Simon.

Male Human Paladin 4

"Visions and prophecy are to be experienced. How better to evaluate their truth and learn from them? I do not fear these tribal folk, no more than I did the monster beneath the earth or your brethren in the Vertibird. What lies before us now is a path of new experiences and novel challenges."

Noticing the young girl looking his way, Edward smiles and excuses himself from his comrades.

"And I believe one such new experience may be coming my way all the sooner"

Edward approachs the girl and offers his hand in greeting.

"Hello. I am Edward Monroe, of New Orleans. And what might your name be?" He continues the pleasantries and flirting as long as she seems interested.

Male Human Paladin 4

Edward shares his visions with more aplomb than his colleagues. Internally, the images unnerved him and made him question just what happened, but the resolve ingrained in him by the Brotherhood held true once more.

"That was...weird. I wonder if they drugged us somehow. Either way, it proved quite...enlightening. "

Male Human Paladin 4

Edward kneels without hesitation.

"Thank you, Father Ahab, for this opportunity. And also for your welcoming attitude."

Male Human Paladin 4

"This place, no-one likely knows about, or cares about. The Vault, however, is surely on a map somewhere, some kind of record from way back when. It would seem that is what drew the attention of the Enclave. It bears noting, I doubt there will be any future endeavors here. The cost versus the reward for exploring this Vault seem prohibitively skewed."

Male Human Paladin 4

Totes!

I cannot wait to see the E3 reveal!

I think we may be down a couple of players, though.

Male Human Paladin 4

"Most unusual. It would appear a ceasefire has been brokered between then Brotherhood and the Enclave. I wonder what to make of that."

Male Human Paladin 4

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. Happy Wednesday to those who don't!

Male Human Paladin 4

"Very well. Let's move. There is no sense wasting more time down here."

Male Human Paladin 4

Not too concerned about not saving the village. Warn them of incoming, prepare traps, split and regroup.

No sense wasting lives in unwinnable engagements.

Male Human Paladin 4

I think plan "Mine the hell out of the landing area and booby trap the vault before running away" sounds most feasible.

Unless we could cripple their vertibird inbound, they will have us in tech, numbers, and firepower. Not a fight we want.

Male Human Paladin 4

"So...scatter loads of mines to slow them down, then snipe the walkers as they approach? Any chance those druid folks would put aside theit enmity for some Enclave butt kicking? Alternatively, could we simply shoot down their aircraft? One big boom and down they go."

Male Human Paladin 4

"The past is the past Marcel. I am more concerned with how they will take to my armor."

Male Human Paladin 4

"If battle is likely with these Enclave soldiers, we should attend to your injuries, Marcel. I would prefer a diplomatic solution, but it sounds as if that may be impossible. Any idea on the equipment and skills of this force inbound?"

Male Human Paladin 4

"Huh. Never would have figured you for an Enclave spy, Marcel. I believe you have earned enough good will from me to have a chance to explain. Why does the Enclave want this reactor? And just what kind of security forces are inbound?".

Edward seems very calm and confident, despite the revelation of his teammate'so true allegiance.

Male Human Paladin 4

Radio: "Paladin Monroe reporting. Repeat last. Did not copy. Reactor unsecure. Radiation leak minor. Repeat: reactor unsecured, minor radiation leak. Did not copy last transmission. "

Speech: "Something is going on. Just received a partial transmission from hq."

Male Human Paladin 4

Correct, I am uninterested in dead critter parts being attached to my armor.

Male Human Paladin 4

"Marcel, are you injured?"

Male Human Paladin 4

Edward swings again, flanking with Marcel.

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 to hit, 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Crit Threat! Confirmation:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 to hit, 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Male Human Paladin 4

Edward steps forward and chops at the mutated beast.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 to hit; 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 post war bastard sword

Male Human Paladin 4

"Hey ugly! Catch!"

Edward smites evil (dunno if that applies but what the hey) and tosses the sack of mines at big ugly and scary.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 touch (-2 if smite does not apply)

Male Human Paladin 4

Effectively immune to intimidate at least.

"Get ready. Scab, Crispy, when I toss the mines try to detonate them in his face."

Male Human Paladin 4

Edward takes off his backpack, setting 5 mines aside and places them in a sack. Bastard sword in one hand and "sack o' mines" in the other, he signals his readiness with a nod.

Male Human Paladin 4

"Can we fasten the mines on the walls or stairs? Out of the water but in a way to detonate against this monster?"

Edward readies his weapons for whatever plan is proposed.
