The fact that I don't speak auran, nor have a spell to enable it makes the talk option rather tricky. The fact that my armor is sitting on the ground next to my bedroll, makes retreat unappealing as well. Perhaps you don't realize how boned I actually am.

Since I've decided to switch my sacred bond, no I'm pretty much SOL. I would need to go back to weapon bond and then magic up my bow and maybe that would work.

Campfire and no security measures. He can't cast alarm and he's by himself. Not a lot of options there. Obviously this isn't good. At best he can set up some snares around the camp to make noise if something approaches.

Kjel will dig out some more jerky from his pack, and eventually raid the pack horse until the critter is sated. Then he will work on trying to make it understand he's not a threat.

Ok, I have a wacky idea. I took the Divine Bond option on my weapon, but have never used it. Could I swap that over to mount, but take the weasel even though I'm not going to be riding it?

He's going to try to calm it down with handle animal. Not sure if that can world since I don't have wild empathy. Just don't see a point in killing it.

If that doesn't work, he will try a lay on hands to see if it will calm it down by healing the wound.

Just to note, I've been forgetting to use one of my traits which boosts damage when I'm the only person who threatens a target. Hence my damage will be 1 higher now.

OK, so I'm too late anyway. Resting overnight will help with his wounds, then he will spend a day getting everything together, and healing up fully. He's not willing to head out to a possible major threat without all his abilities available.

Once he is fully healed, and the horses are loaded up with the loot, he will head for the site of the ritual to see what is amiss there.
