Kitchikez looks up sharply at Maw"ud, reflexively holding his gift behind his body, as if the Ranger were interested in taking it, "Well, you know what you need to do to get your goods, don't you? So lets go get it!" The little ratman seems concerned someone's going to take his things.

Kitchikez jumps when Yin Hu stops and shouts at him, but he is glad to be dismissed and even more happy to be getting a... parting gift? "May the sands never drink you dry Madam" he says with a bow, securing the jeweled dagger (???) to the sash at his waist. He turns and takes a final look around the tent, wondering when and if he'll ever see it again, then turns and steps outside. His step is lighter, more free, and he smiles at his traveling companions, "Well, this should be interesting."

Kitchikez, caught off guard at the magnitude of the power of the bottle that was just inside this very tent, looks at the door it departed out of. Obviously it is long gone from view, but he can't help wonder at its power, and what it'd be like to possess that power for himself. But he gives himself a mental shake and returns to the conversation at hand, adding another question for his master, "And what are you going to do about it now?! That thing can't be just... walking around!"

A big smile takes over his face as Delahmbra comes to the same realization as he did. But seeing the catfolks reaction he speaks up quickly, "Perhaps that's a... conversation best had outside the tent, yes?" He stands, making gentle gestures towards the tent flap, worriedly looking around at some of the more fragile items in the tent.

Javi the Wasp wrote: ...What have you in the way of experiences? I'd love to see something that I've never seen before… maybe get my blood really pounding again, if you know what I mean." Kitchikez frowns as the tension in the room increased palpably at Javi's response to the Duskman, but his eyes seem mostly concerned with the merchandise and getting blood off the rugs than those involved in the verbal swashbuckling. He can't help but look askance at Javi at the last statement he made, muttering quietly to himself, "Getting chased by that gnoll with that weapon doesn't get his heart pumping?!"

Kitchikez leans back against the post, remaining sitting, feeling slightly miffed, "Murder and blood eh? You speak as if from experience, sir." He raises his eyebrows questioningly and extends his own two arms in front of himself, letting his sleeves rise up to expose his wrists and the tops of his forearms, showing the distinct absence of wrist sheathes.

Kitchikez, after handing the bottle to Yin Hu, moves to sit on a half-filled sack of... something, and listens to the wise-women go to work. A half-smile fixed on his face, as he moves only his eyes and his head, craning to look around at each speaker in turn. His eyes do widen slightly in alarm as Yin Hu reacts to Delahmbra's threat to take his item back, but other than that he simply waits to be summoned by his master. He does emit a low whistle of appreciation as the spring loaded wrist sheathes are revealed, "Nice."

Kitchikez frowns slightly, seeing the catfolks agitation, "Sorry, we don't normally trade tribes of catfolk..." He glances around at the others, his ears twitching beneath the cowl, clearly uncertain how to proceed. "What's happened to your tribe? and what's a funny bottle got to do with anything?" He holds out small hands tentatively, inquiringly so he might inspect it. Appraise: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 I know this is a stretch to get a true appraisal, just trying to convey he's doing his best to examine and appraise it from afar.

Kitchikez was tempted to roll his eyes again when Yin Hu began speaking to Panchatantra, but he'd seen this process too many times to take it lightly. His hands moved instinctively to his full belly as he remembers his own moment of decision. He decides to chip in, to see if he can help the situation a little, "Think long and hard, if you're able, before you make your decision." he gestures around the tent, "Make sure the prize is worth the cost. For while the allure of your hearts desire is before your eyes, it seems any cost is worth it." He holds up a broom for all of you to see, "I've never swept so much sand in all my life... but then I've never had as full a belly for as long either." He turns to look back at Yin Hu, and gives her a small nod, one of acceptance and appreciation, and addresses those gathered, "But, speaking from personal experience, Yin Hu always makes good on her deals... sometimes not how you'd expect, and despite all odds, but she does it."

Kitchikez was formulating his response to the insightful story-teller, but Yin Hu decided to make her entrance at just that moment. So Kitchikez backs a few steps to the side, adjusts his cowl and turns his eyes to the proprietress and the potential patrons. He smiles inwardly, knowing that few who step into this tent leave without something they did not bring with them. He gives a rueful chuckle, thinking back to his own deal that was made with the wizened, mysterious woman.

The ratfolk looks up and around the interior of the tent, at Javis's admission, "Yes, I hear that same thing quite often actually. It's uncanny how she does it, but she seems to know who's going to visit before they do." Kitchikez scoffs a little, but quickly covers it up, "We have a mutually beneficial arrangement. It's been good to work for her."

Kitchikez purses his lower lip even as he moves to adjusts the statue a quarter turn the other direction and flick an imaginary piece of dirt from it, "Indeed, some are better than others, but the most sunsets I've seen are those falling upon Katapesh. What about you? You seem to know your way around a souk." I just like saying 'souk'.

Even as he straightens some other objects, Kitchikez is nodding at the catfolks question, "Correct, you have found it. Congratulations." Turning back to Javi, "She does have nearly everything, and don't ask me how she does it either. That's something I keep my nose well out-of." He considers the next question, "It's more accurate to say I'm from around Katapesh, ...been with the caravans most of my life. I don't like to be too tied down." The last part is said with particular volume for Yin Hu's ears. As their attention is drawn back to the knoll, Kitchikez comments with a wink towards Javi, "I'm guessing most of his friends have been eaten anyways."

Kitchikez sighs as the tent begins to fill up, waiting for Yin Hu to make her usual mysterious, grand, or confusing entrance as usual. When he's addressed by the quick moving halfling, he stands up from adjusting some wares and faces him, "Thank the sands, I am not. The good lady of the tent is about however, and will make herself known presently, I'm sure. Be thinking of what you might like however, Yin Hu does not like to be kept waiting." He distractedly adjusts the cowl on his head, to ensure his ears are properly covered and starts wiping some dirt from the tent, trying to keeping half an eye on the halfing as he does so. Making light conversation he looks out the flap at the large gnoll down the alley, "Friend of yours?" he asks.

Well whatever happens, those were some pretty impressive rolls! So props to you there! Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Kitchikez quickly loses sight of the accused thief, letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "Survivor." he says to himself in a low voice, continuing to organize and prepare for patrons. In that single word he expresses more respect and admiration than a dozen other words could have produced, for him.

DM InVinoVeritas wrote: "...Others must see who we are, tonight. It is written in the stars." The ratfolk keeps his back turned to Yin Hu even as he follows her orders in preparing the tent. But as she speaks the words his dark eyes roll heavenward and his mouth mimics the words soundlessly, 'It is written in the stars.' It's as if he's heard it dozens of times before, which he probably has. The noisy, chaotic, but familiar flow of the souk is interrupted by the sound of poor Tawids' wares crashing to the ground, causing the long, cowl-covered ears to twitch in that direction. Kitchikez doesn't react more than that, keeping to his task, but listening to those unlucky enough to be caught in the area of the incident. As per Yin Hu's orders, he tosses wide the tent flap, curious as to who will be drawn to the stall this night. Inwardly he winces as the authoritative voice of a Dusk man tries to bring a measure of order to the area. Hopefully the thief is either dead or halfway across the sands by now, he thinks to himself. Better that than facing an angry Dusk man! In the shadow of his cowl his slightly elongated nose twitches to the side, seemingly of it's own accord.

Ahh, working the night life. ;) Well I'm sure the posting schedule will work out just fine. You'll probably just end up doing some retroactive posts now and then I bet. So anyone going to Con? I'm planning on it, but also may be starting a new job here soon. So that could screw everything up.
