Hehe, I was a player in this particular adventure path. During the process of clearing foxglove manor we had one player die because he decided to grabble the revenant on the second floor >.> After finishing the clearing out of Foxglove manor we resolved to burn the place to the ground however, something prevented anything from taking flame in the manor. We decided at that moment that if we couldn't destroy it with fire instead, we would return at a later date once we had learned the earthquake spell and knock the entire cliffside into the ocean. We did so with a scroll of Earthquake much much much later.
Okay, I've been playing a Bard and I have a few specific questions about what Inspire Courage (pg. 18) can affect. Inspire courage says that it gives a "+1 morale bonus to attack and weapon damage rolls". Now I hate to be the type to pick over every single word but since it doesn't say "weapon attack and damamge rolls" I believe this means all attack rolls even if they don't involve a weapon, such as rays. I'm assuming I'm correct on this but even if I'm not this question would still apply. Would this +1 to attack rolls, whether they be weapon only or not, apply to a Universalist Wizards's ability Hand of the Apprentice (pg. 196). It's a supernatural ability in which the Wizard concentrates to make a weapon attack using his BAB +Int modifier. There is a melee attack roll involved. So I'm wondering if the attack roll AND the damage roll would recieve the benefits of a bard's inspire courage.
After re-reading the feat I'm no longer as certain as I was before. Exotic Weapon Proficiency
It seems to me if it was only a specific weapon the second sentence would instead say "You understand how to use that exotic weapon in combat".
I'm also playtesting a PFRPG Bard, loving it, but only have 11 Int, leaving me seriously lacking for skill points. So far I have been only able to keep up with one perform skill, I don't have a chance at maintaning two performs. After reading through the many different offered solutions ranging from making perform a class feature to just crazy stuff, I think a simple increase of 8 skill points per level would fix all the bard skill problems while leaving all their current options available. It makes sense to me for a bard to have as many skill points to a Rogue, they're practically companions in flexibility.

I found a feat that might interest you. It was from the Pathfinder Campaign setting for the RPG under General Feats. It actually has the opposite effect of what you were talking about. Instead of casting a spell while using bardic music you instead perform a bardic performance while casting a spell.
You can weave bardic music effects into your spellcasting. Prerequisite: Perform (any) 8 ranks, bardic music ability. Benefit: When you cast a harmonic spell, you can activate one of your bardic music abilities as a free action. The bardic music is incorporated into the spell’s casting time, and the effect of the bardic music lasts for as long as the spell’s casting time continues and for 5 rounds thereafter. Activating a bardic music ability with Harmonic Spell consumes an additional bardic music use per day, but does not increase the effective level of the spell being cast. I am personally a bard player, it is definately one of my favorite classes and the one I enjoy roleplaying the most. I haven't gotten this feat yet and it will be some time until I do.
Well, move my thread if its in the wrong place or there is already one catering to this subject. Personally there is one Prestige Class that I would want to see converted to the PFRPG. It was called "Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil" and it was from The Complete Arcane. Now, that is copyrighted of course and not OGL. But the concept of the prestige class was a arcane spellcaster who specialized in abjuration magic, specifically spells dealing with the color spectrum such as the Prismatic spells. Now I know that no one has a copyright out on the color spectrum >.> . So a prestige class based on abjuration and prismatics shouldn't be infringing on anything copyrighted as long as it is made to PFRPG rules, which would take put some distance in between it and the prestige class listed in the CoArcane. I really enjoyed that class, it was a offense through a excellent defense spellcaster. As a 9th level spell they gained an ability called "Kaleidoscopic Doom" which targeted one creature and turned all magical effects on that creature against him, it functioned as a greater dispel magic but for each effect it dispelled it dealt damage of a serious sort as well. As it advanced in levels this class basically gained access to each color of the light spectrum as a "veil" that could be used to ward against attacks. The veils could be used as a personal warding affecting only you or could be spread out into a warding that could affect adjacent squares, and in some cases as a wall. It was very cool o.o and not too overpowered since it was defense based. Its the monsters own fault if he decides to charge anyways ;D
Well, you could always have the rulebook printed out a Kinkos. They can print it out very fast, doublesided, punched and bound for around $30. (I only offer this advice because the .pdf is obviously offered for free and the rulebooks are no longer available unless you're lucky enough to find a store with a copy still in stock. The shop in my area sold all of their copies quickly) |
