Thanks for the great work! I guess we'll have to settle with low res image from the AP pdf for the rest. Another little donation is on the way, thanks again.

Anyone knows if this AP would requires extra books?(like the Wrath of the Righteous or Iron God's AP)
All of our APs draw upon other books we publish; this one is no exception, but it won't rely NEARLY as heavily as Wrath did on Mythic or Iron Gods did on the Tech Guide. Both of those support books were put up on the PRD for free because of that. There's not really a book that's that heavily integrated into Hell's Rebels.

Thanks. Exactly the answer I was looking for :)

Thank you bwatford for this amazing work. These maps work very nicely in D20Pro, even at full zoom.

I've sent a donation. Thanks again :)

Interesting opinions, all of them. I was looking at awarding XP because it's the system that our old DM used back in the days(of course, we were allowed to roleplay "out of alignment" as long as our general behavior reflected what's on the character sheet.) but I must say awarding a hero point looks even better to me. I shall use that instead, thanks for the idea!

So, I'd like to give my players some bonus XP after each session based on how well I think they played their alignment, as an incentive to better their roleplay, but I also do not want to unbalance the modules by giving too much and making them higher levels than they should be. Based on your experience, what XP per session could I allow for such a thing and not unbalance the adventure?

Thanks

Thanks, I'll give a good hard look at maptools and Roll20. It they don't add too much overhead to the game it would be awesome, he could join us without the tech delaying the local players. and hopefully Skype with a webcam would give him a feeling of being at the table a bit.

I wanted to develop a system of playing that utilized technology to assist playing the conventional method, not replace it.

May I ask what tools you used? One of my old buddy from my AD&D days would love to join us on the Kingmaker campaign, but he now lives 3 hours away with his familly. We were thinking of using skype, but I'm not sure it would be enough.

I finally went with A3 + plastified(to be able to write with an erasable marker on them), they look gorgeous! Only costed me 15$.

I then simply covered them with a piece of paper, carefully cut into hexagon to match the hex behind, and I plan on removing the hexagon as they explore the different hexes. I'll leave it to them to write what landmark is where as they explore.

Thanks all, it reassure me that he can still survive and have fun(that's the point after all)

I hadn't done the math for the points yet, but indeed there is something wrong in how he did it, I shall at least drop him a note on that.

A3 = perfect :)

Thanks. Poster size is way too expenseive here(14$/page) But the A3 size is 89 cents/page, plus 2$/page if I want them laminated, that would be alot more reasonable.

As I wrote some weeks ago, I am getting back into RPG after many years and dm'ing my first pathfinder game using the Kingmaker adventure path.

My players are creating their characters using the 20 points built system, and I think one of them is making a big mistake, but not having experience with Pathfinder, I wanted to double-check with players knowing the system.

I told the players to create their char before we start the game and send them to me for approval. That player created a dwarf fighter that will specialize in 2H fighting. But he gave it 18 Str and 17 dex, thus, IMO, crippling his char for the future because his CON is not that good at 12(couting the dwarf +2 bonus) and his other stats are also all around 10 since he had almost no point left after boosting str and Dex so much, and he even had to lower his charisma down to 7. I honestly don't see him having fun at later levels and probably struggling to stay alive in battles before long.

Am I wrong to think that? I got half a mind to force him to redo his stats, but I want to make sure I am right in thinking he gimped himself for the future first.

All the other players are alot more balanced, with one stat at 16 and most of the others in the 13-15 area.

The print version not being available anymore, I got the pdf, but I was wondering on what paper size people printed them?

Got the whole series from Uriel(great dealing with him, fast shipping for sure!) I returned books 2 to 6 to the local store(he didn't mind, unlike D&D books, Pathfinder books are fully returnable to his supplier) Happy camper here and eager to get back into DMing after many years off :)

If your deal with uriel222 falls through you always have the option of buying the PDFs and then just printing off a copy of each at Kinkos or Staples or something.

Can I print my PDF, or have it professionally printed?

You may print one copy of any Paizo PDF for personal use. Note that this only applies to products that list Paizo Publishing as the copyright holder—other publishers may have different policies; you'll need to contact them directly.

That's a fallback plan indeed, still costly though(Staples charge 39 cents per color pages here in Canada, that's 39$ to print the PDF). Although I would only need book 1, the others are available at normal prices in print form.

DMFTodd: That's crazy, right? Not a single one priced reasonably. Ebay is just as bad.

I'm the opposite; ever since I got an iPad, I've been buying fewer and fewer paper books. If you'd like to buy my (used, obv) Kingmaker books (I've got the complete AP) I'll sell them for $10 each, plus shipping (I'm in Ontario, Canada).

Send me a private message if you're interested. I'd like to see the books go to a good home.

Sent you a PM :)

With the PDF and a proper reader, you can extract the map file without the icons, print them out, and do all sorts of things to hide the content of hexes. It's also trivial to make handouts

Not having book 1, I didn't know about that part yet :P But it's a good point. Thanks for the answer and reason on why it seems so rare now.

I'll buy and then print the pdf in b&w anyway for easier reading. It would have been nice to have the real binded book but one thing I can't complain, is that paizo at least put PDF out of everything. A nice change from the industry back in the 90's.

After years away from the hobby(I stopped playing AD&D when it was the 2nd edition) I am finally getting back into some tabletop RPG, found Pathfinder to my liking and got a group together. Based on various thread here I decided to start with Kingmaker, but I simply can't find book 1 at a reasonable price. FLGS can't order it, it's OOP on Paizo website and let's not talk about amazon or ebay where it reach 200$... Why are all the other books in the series readily available, but not the first volume?(I have ordered all through my FLGS without any problem) Yes I can get the pdf, (and will be probably forced to do so) but I hate PDF(even though I work in IT and work daily with them). I'm old school, I like to have the adventure open in front of me, easilly flipping the pages, reading and preparing the adventure in the comfort of our la-z-boy :P (plus, I hate the laptop "widescreen" display now, you can barely fit 30 lines of text on those screen.)

Is it available on some online store at a more regular price or should I simply bit it and run book 1 using the PDF? (already cringing thinking about it)

Thanks!
