HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

In fairness, I would like the party to have some of the loot from this tower. 1 is a lesser healing potions, 2 are unknown potions. Do with them as you will.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

I'll be the first to say it.

I'm done. This game just isn't progressing and I've quickly lost interest in it. The time between postings makes it hard for me to keep track of what is happening. So I am going to withdraw.

Thanks everyone for playing.
Thanks GM Nayr for running.
Hope you all have wonderful success in your future games.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Up the stairs.
"There could also be a 'down' part as well. No one opened the other doors we passed below."

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib walks up to Tessamine and the others at the doors. Glancing in, he says, "Don't open the door. It's a lock." He then proffers the two new potions to the group at large, "Anyone need a healing potion? For now or later."

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib sits back, resting on the floor. He is examining these two unknown potions, comparing them to the healing potion he has in his pack. He figures he's screwed up enough stuff this run, best to let the others have their chance to screw up.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Remind me, was there a slot for such a thing in the mechanism downstairs that controlled the automated crossbows?

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib thinks about his ill-fated time down stairs before piping up. "Just remember, there may be more of them. Just saying."

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib looks down at the new corpse at his scaly feet. He mutters to himself before shaking his head slowly. "Why does this always happen?"
He then (as respectfully as he can) starts going through the creatures' pockets.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib approaches carefully (step action, step action) and then swings with his sickle...
Sickle Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4 and Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 3
and Crit Damage?: 1d4 ⇒ 3
.... Kib cuts across his scaly flesh for an indeterminate amount of damage.

Obviously, I'm only hoping that this is a critical hit....

I was just wondering on that electric arc cantrip. Does it need a spell attack and enemies get a saving throw? That seems harsh to spellcasters. It is almost like two saves vs the spell. Just wondering cause I am new to pathfinder 2E and I didn’t see that in the spell description but maybe there is something in the general rules on spells that I couldn’t find or a house rule or something.

Thanks for any clarification

It does not require an attack roll.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib's pout turns into an almost puppy dog smile as he does a little wiggle-dance (partially out of happiness that Tessa hooked him up, partially to shake off the blood).

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

I'm not sure how Kib would pout, what with not having lips and all that. But when BK steps back and leaves Kib hanging, he does his best.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Seeing the battle escalting against them, Kib knows they have little choice but to battle it out since these new enemies are between them and the exit. So he steps up next to BK and attacks...
Let's see how this works....
Athletics to Trip: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 9 - 4 = 23
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2 and Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 2

After hooking his sickle around the fish-man's ankle and then cutting him, Kib holds his fist up to BK for a bump.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Okay, so out of character, I regret all of Kib's actions and apologize for the absolute beat down we are receiving from these things. I am so sorry.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Checked out the map this time. So this should work out correctly.
Kib steps up to the fish man, lashes out, then steps back for Tessamine to take the spot.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 1 = 11

Step, attack (badly), step.

"Hey, you all realize these things travel in schools?" Kib snickers to himself, probably more than that jokes deserves. (Definitely more than that joke deserves.)

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

I really screwed up that whole thing. Rolling to confirm, not realizing he stepped back. Just an all around bad turn.
Kib will stand (provoking), step, and attack only once.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

...Yeah. You're right. My bad.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Laying on his back, Kib takes a deep breath, then twists his little body to angle his strikes at this creature's ankles. The prone condition doesn't seem to have any penalties to attacks anymore. If I'm wrong, please adjust as necessary.

Sickle Attack 1: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 1 = 30
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Sickle Attack 2: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Sickle Attack 3: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Crit Confirm 1: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 1 = 12
Crit Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

As he spins on the ground, You know, I'm really having a good time on this adventure. You're all very nice.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib, now back on the 2nd floor, runs into the battle.
"Its a good thing we didn't try to leave. What with the others waiting below to ambush us."

He swings with his final action....
Sickle: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
... and cuts into it.

"Did I mention there were more? Coming up the stairs, probably."

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib uses his other two actions to...
1) Close the door.
2) Move towards the stairs.
...and shouts "Fish man has some friends down here! Just FYI!"

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

I'm sure this will be a surprise to everyone, but Kib opens the door.
And then acts based on what is on the other side

Kib just says, "NOPE!" as he closes that door.

3rd action, move across the room to the other door while muttering.
"Why can't there ever just be treasure. Surely someone has to be dumb enough to leave an unlocked door that is easy to access to something useful." sigh "Someday."

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

I would like to apologize for my absence.

Perception/Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Kib hears Tessa shout and looks up the stairs, gives a quick consideration ... "Let me know if any more show up!, he shouts up to her and the others. Kib then opens the door. And the rest of his turn will be dependent on what is on the other side.

Western is perfect as it is the one closest to the bottom of the stairs, that's the one I pictured him at.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

YOU KNOW WE CAN HEAR YOU, RIGHT?! Kib shouts from down stairs.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Perception Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Kib is also half listening to the conversation upstairs, more to have warning if it starts moving his direction than anything else. As he's listening, Kib checks for traps and locks on the door.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib waits at the bottom of the stairs and watches to see if the strange creature follows. He is standing near one of the doors and looks ready to open it if they're not followed.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib is already on the way to the bottom floor.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib whispers his response to Tessa, Really? We only broke into his house and started walking all over his table. Why would he be offended?

Kib takes cover behind the table and Marius.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Nah! You'll be fine. I'm sure Marius can fix you right up. I've seen worse wounds from bigger weapons. Kib goes back to inspecting the control mechanism. Why, I remember this one time when my cousin, dingus that she is, was going to try and steal a great big sword from a giant. The story rambles on and takes many tangents.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib finally wipes the tears from his eyes as the mirth runs its course. He scurries over to Grunyar to begin pulling on the bolt.
No no, friends. The humor isn't in the pain. No, not at all. The humor is in the timing. And the perceived values of a thing that are distinct from my perceived values.
Heal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 to pull the bolt out without causing serious damage
For example, I once knew this crafty type Kobold that always talked about he was so much better at traps than anyone else. He was ranting about his expertise to a group of us when he accidently electrocuted himself. We never let him live it down, called him "shocker lizard" after that.
Bolt free, Kib looks around, chuckling at the story, looking to see if anyone else is laughing at his obviously hilarious story....

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib is breathing heavily and turns to look at the group with wide eyes. He immediately breaks out laughing. Laughing so hard he can barely breath. That.... that one doesn't count! He roars with laughter. NO! NOT MY BEARD! Kib has his scaly hand on the wall as he doubles over, the other arm clutching his ribs as he starts to cry because he's laughing so hard.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib will also help. Presuming Marius points out the panel, and presuming Grunyar forces it open, Kib runs over to it and starts trying to wreck it (but you know, carefully).
Not sure where exactly it is on the map, but Kib is close to the stairs...

Thievery: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Kib's goal is just to shut these things down.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

As Kib bobs and weaves to avoid the crossbows form getting a bead on him, he still finds time to look at Grunyar incredulously. "What do you think I've been trying to do!? It's not like I can reach them up there!"

I think your calculations are right, yes! Adding in the character's level always happens if you've got proficiency in something.

"I'm with you all, of course, but allow me to cover the retreat! They'll have a tough time getting through my shie-"

Right at that point, a bolt hits Tess, who hadn't actually put up her shield. "AUGH! Depths be dam-... that one doesn't count!"

She'll then move to the edge of the ramp and put up her shield.

I rarely find a reason to legit laugh, but that was one.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

As people begin to leave the room, Kib shouts to Tessamine, "Tessa! The others are running. Are you going to run or stay?"
Not waiting on an answer, he lobs more acid at the same crossbow....
Acid Splash: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 1 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8
... and then heads for the back of the room. Not so far that he couldn't return to where he was, but closer to the ramp if that's what the whole group decides on.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Hit it with a rock! Kib replies, the line reminding him of a play he saw that he still enjoys.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib peaks his head around the edge of the door frame, quickly takes stock of the room, then fires more acid at the nearest crossbow.

Acid Splash: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 1 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4

Go get 'em, Tessamine. He says before ducking (mostly) back around the doorframe.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

(I don't know what happened to my original roll, but GM Nayr's is way better than mine so I'll take that one.)

Kib jumps a bit in surprise and then instinctively flings some acid at the one closest to him (west side, I believe).

Acid Splash: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Without even looking to see if it hit (which is probably why it didn't), Kib hustles out of the room.

"I don't know how I didn't see those doors. But I don't want them to see me. Like the time I worked at a haunted house. It wasn't actually haunted, we just got paid to pretend it was....."

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib slides in, keeping one hand on the wall, the other on his weapon. He's just waiting to see if/when his claws slip thorugh the solid stone again into another secret room.

I think that would be Perception? Searching?

Kib opens the door.

..... and enters a loading screen.

Picture if you will, a small bronze scaled kobold frozen in place and spinning ever so slowly while helpful hints appear periodically on the screen.

Did you know that stabbing creatures usually kills them?
Not dead yet? Try stabbing it some more!

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib moves up to the double doors leading out of the room and rests his scaly hand on the handle. He turns his eyes back to the rest of the party and asks, "Everyone ready for some more adventure?" before opening the doors.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Eh? Repairing constructs? Like living statue ladies?

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Arcan: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Kib steps through the wall, slightly shoved by all those who are making their way forward to look. Knowing how crafty his own people are, he is undeterred and continues his search.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

I don't know what that ring is, but I know a secret room when I see one. And if they're smart, they'll have hidden another secret room inside the first. Most people stop looking when they find one secret. That goes for more than just physical things like this. If you want to disguise yourself, have an innocuous secret to tell if you get caught, but that one hides a bigger secret. Kinda like having two secret identities. Or so I've heard anyway. No practical experience on that front. None at all. His usual chatter rolls as he works around the others, feeling the walls and examining the niches.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib straightens his arm, then moves it around to test the bandaging.
Oh, good job on this. Shouldn't move at all. Not like that time in Thuvia when the bandages around my head slipped and blinded me and I ran into that guy carrying the chest. Honestly don't know why they were SO mad about it. Stupid elixers.[b] As he speaks, Kib moves over to the section of the wall that seemingly spawned the enemies, talking all the while.
[b]Didn't have much more of a plan than "look around". Good job on getting past the death ball outside though. I presume you got past it, we didn't try to fight it. Death ball is bad news, you know. Very dangerous. Saw one in Brevoy once. Made of cheese. Not like the one outside, though. That one moves around.

While talking, Kib is running his fingers along the wall trying to figure out how these creatures got through (secret door, illusionary wall, etc.).

Either of you good at healing? I only know the basics.

@Banterknell: Grunyar has not yet been injured in this combat.

____________

Kib hisses out at Marius, "We spent time setting up this flank. Hit the other one!"

Kib tries to hit the prone one a whole bunch before moving,
Sickle Attack 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2 and Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Sickle Attack2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4 and Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 3

After missing with the first strike but cutting flesh with the second (presumably), Kib gtfo's to the corner to, leaving a smattering of blood as he moves.

HP: 32 of 33 / AC: 20 / FORT: +6 , REF: +11 , WILL: +7 / PERCPETION: +7 Kobold Rogue 3

Kib moves around the enemies to gain the advantage on the one attacking Tessamine. Reading Acrobatics and lit looks like I can only use it to not provoke while moving through their squares (which I don't have to do). But I also know that Attacks of Opportunity aren't automatic in this edition, so here's hoping they don't have them....

Presuming Kib reaches the space, he lashes out with his Sickle on the one he is flanking (Which I think no longer gives me a bonus but instead gives the enemy a penalty....)

Sickle Attack 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3 and Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Sickle Attack 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 and Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Wow. Kib canNOT roll damage worth a f-ing damn.
