Cleric Suggestions:

Cleric of Calistria (as a gigolo.) - "Me want to give you LOVE!"
For a totally horrifying (for others) RP experience.
Remember Calistria is the goddess of revenge. So feel free to club their heads in, if they reject your advances. :P

OH MY to this lol. DM already told me if I get enlarged I will go through the deck or cause the ship to tilt. I'm going to read on that cleric suggestion though lol. Also does a negative mental stat affect uses per day.

Liberty's Edge

My wife plays a rogue who is constantly taking advantage of me. Thought about a ninja dip to be more like her lol. I got the dex for it.

Liberty's Edge

Hello.

Playing the skull and shackles campaign and my DM decided to let me have fun.

My character is a Ogrekin Orc, so far I'm 2 levels titan mauler barb, 1 level two handed fighter. I plan on going 3 levels into the fighter for double strength damage. Another person at the table told me that multi classing was dumb so just for fun I think I'm going to take more dips in other classes but curious what suggestions you have. My stats are as follows
Str 30
Dex 22
Con 20
Wis 10
Int 8
Ch 7

I'm thinking of taking a dip of Witchdoctor. It doesn't have to be optimized but just fun or silly. Character is played as big dumb gentle giant. I also pretty much get no items as my co-players take advantage of my low mental stats which is fine and how I see him game is big dumb gullible oaf.

Basically I'm asking for things that would be unexpected for him to do but be funny. I think being a witch with killer dc and spell selection would be fun. Any suggestions?

Liberty's Edge

Another golden moment for me, during a ship to ship fight my sword got damaged so I ran to the cleric to have her heal it.

Liberty's Edge

My DM for fun let me play an Ogrekin Orc, my strength was 30/34 raging. I had single digits for mental though, think it was like 6 8 8. I knocked Owlbear out with 2 punches to which we became best friends, I asked the Orc armory lady out only to be upstaged by another half orc and they went to bed together. Me and Owlbear drank much that night. I managed to make the strength dc to tear the tops off of chests clearing the armory out in one night under the guidance of the party rogue. All in all was a really fun character that saved the party alot but also was easily taken advantage of. He died shortly after, repeated use of... NO NO you don't need that potion Aric, give that to me led to him dying in a cave sad and alone, with ghoul fever....

Hopefully he comes back for revenge.

but the maul specifically does the extra damage to inanimate objects, not people.

Which is why it does NOT work on sunder et al. versus a players used items. NOTHING a player is wearing or wielding is an inamite object for purposes of magic. They are all attended objects.

Now if you wanted to do it to a persons armor when it was lying on the ground, I would say go for it. But once a person wears of wields something it gets subsumed into their personal aura and becomes, for pretty much all affects, THEM.

Even if one were to allow it on WORN armor or wielded items, the bleed through damage would definately NOT be tripled, since it is no longer damaging an inanimate item but a persona or living creature.

Time to remember how to multiply and divide if you really want to do this.

Or just make your gear out of Adamantine. Unless the maul is made out of it as well it can do as much damage as it wants and still not affect the weapon or armor since adamantine ignores damage from items with a hardness of less than 20.

Thank you this was something I was looking for, its an attended object :) So far pathfinder has patched many broken issues and I'm glad this is another I'm glad that won't see abuse :) if even by me

Liberty's Edge

Sorry wasn't thinking the other day, the other 6 is from power attack and I did damage wrong, I was thinking Improved vital strike for the 3 x and then the maul dmg I listed is wrong I listed for a large great sword (doesn't 2d6 become 3d6?) and the damage from the maul would carry over as it says in greater sunder that any damage left over from the attack on the weapon carries over. so my damage would be weapon damage x6 and str dmg x 3.

Correct?

Liberty's Edge

Ya I went for the glass cannon approach but we have 2 battlefield control wizards.

Liberty's Edge

I was afraid of this lol, I have a level 10 fighter in a game with enlarge person permanancied and a plus 6 giant str belt, and I have one of these mauls. So 30 str with weapon focus both sunder feats and weapon training I have a 27 cmb for sunder and a 3d6 + 28 dmg, which with a titans maul is 3d6 (9-54) + 84 dmg that will go straight to the poor sap wearing/holding whatever I smash. I only have 19 armor but so far this hasn't been an issue, also with cornugun smash and Intimidating Prowess he has become quite a Beast.

Liberty's Edge

1.So maul of the titans does 3x damage to inanimate objects, does this work with sunder? So if that is a yes, what if I take greater sunder and smash some ones armor or weapon they take the leftover damage. So does this work?

2. Does sunder work with things like Cleave and Vital Strike?

Liberty's Edge

Most fun and oddest.

3.5 Hulking Hurler with the bag of tricks (grey?)that lets you pull animals out. Oh look how cute, OMG FLYING BEARS!

cool concept, reminds me a lot of a class i found in a demonologist book from mongoose publishing. You would summon demons and trade part of your soul to gain abilities from them.

But if he uses his body as a gateway, then why give him the SM sla.

And lastly, does the summoner always look like what form he evolves into, or does he have to do something to become it.

He would be warped and would have to find a very very understanding town or wear a cloak, that idea being this is the trade off for his new power. The part about the gateway is just fluff for the sm sla. Since sla's don't require components, xp or gold.

Liberty's Edge

Could make this a class alt like the bonds for Pally and Ranger. This could be a fun class though, especially since players still get the bang of BIG E but dm's have an object to direct their hate at.

Leave any feed back you guys want.

Thanks for Reading

Liberty's Edge

Get rid of BIG E, give evolution points to the Summoner, remove the armor profeciency, the SLA, and Weapon Proficiency evolutions. Make the summons 1min/level but only 1 summon out at a time. The makes a melee, summoner or just a stay out of combat summoner, still alot of versatility. Also maybe make mandatory deformaties as a result of dabbling in the dark arts. and a capstone ability of creating a True Eidolen ( astral double ) the Thing being what parts of you were altered went to the other plane and made this thing.

Fluff:
"I draw astral beings to this plane, siphoning their power as their essence flows through me, behold the gifts I've taken!"
*cloak falls to the floor as wings unflurl and 8 arms draw hand crossbows*

A summoner is a person who has dedicated themselves to binding outsiders to his will. He can summon beings to this plane of existence by sheer willpower using his body as a gateway to other planes. The price of this awesome power is that he is slowly tainted by the otherwordly energies. (Think geomancer 3.5) The summoner's curse is also a great boon, as his body is warped by these energies he becomes more dangerous, gaining extra attacks which mimic the creatures he pulls into existence.

Pros:
Flavor of Summoner is intact
Leaves it open as to how you play your summoner still(frontliner, back ground support)
Balances which evolutions you can take, If you look like a hideous pit beast it makes it hard to go into town and do your shopping.

Cons:
Steps on wildshape a little bit (I disagree with this but someone thought it did, my reason for saying no is that it is permanent, see my last pro)
No Big E to eat it in the face and go away with no bad consequences.

Summoner
Weapon Proficiency: Simple
Armor Proficiency: Light or none (leaves bracers of armor open though), no Spell Failure
1st +0 +0 +0 +2 Cantrips, Aspect +1, Natural Armor +1, summon monster I
2nd +1 +0 +0 +3 Aspect +2, Natural Armor +1
3rd +2 +1 +1 +3 Summon monster II
4th +3 +1 +1 +4 Shield ally
5th +3 +1 +1 +4 Summon monster III
6th +4 +2 +2 +5 Aspect +4, Natural Armor +1
7th +5 +2 +2 +5 Summon monster IV
8th +6/+1 +2 +2 +6 Aspect +4, Natural Armor +1
9th +6/+1 +3 +3 +6 Summon monster V
10th +7/+2 +3 +3 +7 Aspect +4,Natural Armor +1
11th +8/+3 +3 +3 +7 Summon monster VI
12th +9/+4 +4 +4 +8 Greater Shield Ally
13th +9/+4 +4 +4 +8 Summon monster VII
14th +10/+5 +4 +4 +9 Aspect +4, Natural Armor +1
15th +11/+6/+1 +5 +5 +9 Summon monster VIII
16th +12/+7/+2 +5 +5 +10 Aspect +4, Natural Armor +1
17th +12/+7/+2 +5 +5 +10 Summon monster IX
18th +13/+8/+3 +6 +6 +11 Greater aspect (Something super special)
19th +14/+9/+4 +6 +6 +11 Gate
20th +15/+10/+5 +6 +6 +12 Eidolon (Like Old Psion power to split self.)

Aspect = Evolution Points. They are Cumulitave
Make Serpentine and Quad evolutions available at a high cost to make summoners purchase them. Make a cumulitave cost for purchasing the same Evo's like limbs cost keeps doubling. Remove Pounce, and huge evo.

Greater aspect: Maybe Shapeshift? as a SLA

Either remove spells and give figher BAB, or leave as is. (I see summoners taking craft construct)

I'd also like to see it move to an earlier level...Perhaps get it earlier and have it scale more often.

Ditto I think this is the coolest thing he has, make him and his Big E an awesome combo. Be cool to give up some other feature for more Aspects on yoruself.

I was finding myself more excited about the Eidolon than the summoner as well, and was thinking how awesome it would be if I was just building a monstrous character to play as, rather than a pet for the PC. I could definitely see the Eidolon rules being adapted for a monstrous/shape-shifting class. Actually, shape-shifting seems like it would be the way to go on this one, maybe as the byproduct of sharing your body with some other-worldly creature.

I think the idea has merit

Lol ditto, so I was like hmmm, Binding on self make tiny put in jar (this binding doesn't say I can't use spells or other powers and does stop aging.) Magic Jar into big E. There now I'm a handy dandy monster.

I'd even forgo the BIG E just for Evolution Points to spend on self. But at that point we replace the Big Stupid Fighter but with spells, so now we are actually a cleric.

So in the long run I think the current config is best. I would like to see more evolution points on his self though.

Liberty's Edge

So using the evolution on myself, I could give my self more limbs, and go into multiweapon fighting correct? Asking because I don't see anything saying no I can't and I would like my summoner to not be totally hosed if my summoned beastie got dismissed.

This is an idea I'm running with now. Big E to ride around on with swallow whole, and me slicing up baddies.

Liberty's Edge

*Shakes head in disgust, proceeds to use flamethrower to dispose of the remains* First, last, I'm the only thing that remains.

Liberty's Edge

Best changes are ones listed plus magic items occupying different slots.

Example Monks Robe instead of belt. No more stacking on items for stat shenanigans.

Liberty's Edge

I close my eyes willfully ending line of site. But since I'm a 3.5 char op kind of guy I RAW and draw an unobstructed line from my self to the target of my hate therefore making LOS.

Seriously if you can't figure out that you can't see an whatever your trying to view due to an obstruction then, well probably no LOS.

Liberty's Edge

Just thinking if the war god provided me with a mount it should be able to pull its own weight. Also riding a wolf would be amazing, for look and to let it trip people so you get the +4 to smash them as they squirm.

Liberty's Edge

I asked the same question and recieved no response. The rules work for it so RAW yes. RAI no, probably. The argument I recieved was ITS NOT A MOUNT, but I don't recall the entry stating that the animal was to be ridden. A large ape with spiked chain would be very very fun to fight with.

Liberty's Edge

Making a paladin, lvl 5. Taking Bonded helper guy, more importantly an Ape. I'd like to stick him with light/medium armor proficiency and Exotic weapon focus (spiked chain). Under the druid Animal Compainion it states that any AC with an int greater than 3 can take any feat. Paladin's bonded helper has 6, so CHECK. In the 3.5 arms and equipment guide you could ride ogres and apes so I don't see that as a problem either so CHECK. Apes have fingers and most importantly thumbs so he could wield the spike chain, so CHECK.

What holes do you see with this other than it might be cheese but totally works as RAW.

I ride into battle (or scale a cliff) on top my fearsome mount, I drop from his back as we enter the fray. My enemies scatter as Fluffy raises to his back leg and whips his chain into their faces. Tripping and disarming them as I cleave their precious heads in.

Liberty's Edge

I would love to see
Monster Manuals
Complete Series Type Books (I'm character class X and I have my own book!)
and a Spell Compendium.

These are just the types I would like to see, and would totally subscribe. I bought a beta book at gencon and been drooling since.
