Hi, I made an iCal with all the important dates for the next RPGSuperstar

You can subscribe at:
webcal://ical.mac.com/oasisob1/RPG Superstar II.ics
or possibly:
webcal://ical.mac.com/oasisob1/RPG%20Superstar%20II.ics
or even view it online at:

It's nothing too fancy. I published it with alarms so those of you who are excited about voting or seeing who won a round will have a little reminder.

Enjoy! I am really looking forward to a great competition!

Good luck to all entrants!

System requirements? Mac Compatible? Need that kind of info, thanks.

I would like to see some more information on all the software, specifically, the level of compatibility with Macintosh Computers, and some description of the number and types of files in items like this one. Are the graphics in PDF, PNG, TIFF, JPG, multiple formats? Are they available both colored and uncolored??

't would be neat. thanks.

While this does sound like a pretty good module, it conjures images of Scooby Doo. I can just see this module ending with the unmasking of Firebeard, only to discover that the long-dead pirate is really Old Man Wetherby, who wanted to scare everyone out of town so he could build a strip mall.

I don't even think that would be a bad conclusion.

I love the concept of the genesis of the Cliffs of Shattered Glass! Falling Star from an angry god! YEAH!

Wa~hooooooo!

I'm switching my vote from Christine to you because I want to the the Adventure Path or series of modules developed from this idea!

-------
Paizo, if Boomer loses, you want to pay him for a few modules, I am sure of it.

Christine, you win, utterly, but I'm giving my vote to Boomer. I'm hoping he wins and Paizo publishes an Adventure Path based on his proposal, and that you are hired on anyway to do your adventure, and maybe a few more.

It's risky, and I don't think Boomer will win unless a mob of us do the same thing, but I have to try.
--------
Paizo, enough already, hire them both! Christine has proven herself, but I think many of us want to see some wahoo-flavored modules by Boomer, too!

(and, to think, there will be another RPG Superstar after this!?)

A Hag, a White Dragon and a Barghest walk into a bar...

The bartender says...

nothing, the bartender is still trying to reconcile a Hag, a White Dragon and a Barghest at the same time!

This was a weird entry. It makes me wonder if you didn't channel a bit of Kisko.

Good luck in the final round. I'm looking forward to your proposal as well!

I want to play this encounter. It's nice to be able to see a how we get into the encounter, and a little beyond it as well.

I'll be surprised if you make it all the way to the top, but what do I know? I'm just one guy who didn't even have the marbles to submit a wondrous item.

I am really looking forward to your proposal, but it would be a lie to say that I am rooting for you, when I've already pegged Christine or Boomer as the ultimate winners in this contest.

Still, I wish you luck.

Boomer, you got my vote again. It's the Funky Boomer Sauce! (take not of my buzzword capitalization scheme, editors!)

You put out an awesome encounter, but an encounter in a room is always going to have a really tough time when put up against a chase scene on a volcano with flying, flaming, orcs.

I'm ready to preorder your module as well, if the Paizonauts would just go ahead an post a page for it already!

Good luck in the final round! It's going to be really tough to decide which one of you will surely put out some product. I really hope the folks at Paizo take on a few of you.

Christine,

Congratulations! I'm glad, and not even a little surprised to see you still in the running.

I voted early, but decided to comment late.

I think it would be funny to search the comments on all the entries to see how many contain the phrase 'blew me away', (Look! There it is again!) and predict winners based on that verbiage alone. I'm smart enough to add fire damage. And I'm smart enough to ignore some of the unrealism to keep this one as much fun as it's supposed to be. Regarding post-ride transportation of the statue, I can already picture the player comments...
Lidda, in a mocking impression of Redgar, says, "I've got a great idea, guys! Let's toss the statue in this sled and ride down the mountain! We'll be back at the Green Dragon before the orcs even realize it's gone!"
The end of the ride is a great opportunity for players to develop some truly memorable dialogue, whether they have a way to haul the statue out or not.

This is Superstar material and everyone knows it. The other three finalists have some good stuff too, but my money is still with you. Now, blow us away again!

-----------
Paizo,

I can't find the link to preorder Christine's module. Little help? In the unlikely event she DOESN'T win, you need to pay her to do a module! Or, just go ahead and make preordering a voting requirement!

The second plot hook for the Complexity Golem made me think of the Finite Improbability Drive.

Very nice work here. These are fun monsters.

1. Do you mean (In)finite Improbability Drive?

2. Yes! I got that feeling, too, but couldn't think of a name for it! Thank you for putting the words out there.

By the way, "Hemogoblin" was used as a joke in a long-ago "What's New with Phil & Dixie" strip when they're at a game convention. Someone asks why it's the most realistic new vampire game on the market. The salesman says, "Because when you lose the game, you have to go donate a pint of blood." [rim shot]
I remember that one. I could probably go dig it out right now, but I don't feel like wading through my old Dragons at the moment.

I want to see a Foglio-drawn comic of Rhothaerill wading through a bunch of old Dragons.

Undead! Templates! Fun!

Another intrinsically linked trio, which for me is a bit of a downer, but they are all good creatures.

Can we combine your technical skills with Boomer's writing for a tie? That's what i want!

Did I mention that I love Undead? You did them right here with a painfully obvious method of creation, and did it up as template for more monstery goodness.

Although I've always believed golems should be heavy lumbering fleshy hard to stop things, you've got me excited about the cloud golem.

Little cloud-elves? Interesting. Not heart-stopping, but yeah, if I was running cloud giants, or any campaign in Northern England (where I currently live), there'd be plenty of room for these little zappers.

I can just picture you, sitting at a desk, tapping your pencil on paper, muttering "think, think, think, thematically linked", then just glancing outside at world covered in ice and snow. From that moment you are a furious blur of inspiration.

That or your cold, calculating nature made you do it.

I like these. Hooray for ooze.

Swarms are good. Links to undead are good. Creepy horror is good.

Getting lost in the writeup and not knowing what to make of the total package is bad.

I don't think you're in danger of dropping out this round, but listen to what the big guns are telling you. They are giving you instructions on how to win.

I like the names. You all can stop making fun.

I'm missing the good descriptions of these creatures. I don't know what they look like. I can only picture the horribly-named haemogoblins as bright red gollums. Ticks creep me out bigtime in real life. These things will keep me up all night. The Bloodhound Decriers DO sound like a magic card, and though I like the Bloodless as a foil to the Decriers, they just don't stand alone. I guess you get points for taking 'thematically linked' to heart, but these guys are almost thematically bound.
Still, those ticks! Where did you get those wonderful ticks??

Wow. I'm sorry. I LOVE Undead creatures, but I can't even like these. Everyone seems to like the Ydraphohb (am I spelling that right?), probably because everyone can relate to the fear of drowning. It scares me and creeps me out and catches my breath. Still, I don't see myself bringing these into any campaign that I would consider serious. I love Undead as much as everyone else seems to hate psionics.

Good luck, I don't want to see you gone yet, but I just can't support this particular entry.

Christine, I'm floored. This is top-notch stuff. An editor ought to be able to work with your non-native english skills for the honor of working with material this good. You said "Use it tonight" - I want to, I really do. The dungeon alive, and unhappy that you are there? Killer! A golem NOBODY thought of? Superb (though I would attempt to divide by one on it, an instant kill, I'm sure). The dream-distilled template? Awesome move! Tactical! Here, not one monster, but many! Thank you, Christine, I've only read two and you've got my vote.

Erik: I respect the work you do; it's not easy, but you want this one on your team, she's worth it!

I like ooze, but I just don't agree with the idea that ooze gets to have a brain. Still, there could be some fun here.

Well, this one is not quite a villain, but with a bit of work it could easily be one of the most fun villains to run. The Migrus Locker is creepy genius. I immediately ordered one from Amazon, can't wait to receive.
And, you get a vote from me, Mr. Migrus Locker (you gotta love that new nickname!).

THIS is a great villain. That plus the quiver solidify this as one of my four choices.
