Kehlysch continues to move his sphere of winds around the slavers in the hallway in a zig-zag pattern.

Nonlethal Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Kehlysch moves the gusting sphere in a zig-zag pattern within the hallway pulling it back towards the entrance.

Kehlysch decides the time has come to help his new comrades.

"Tempesphereh!" he shouts, as he unleashes a swirling ball of wind straight into the passage.

(Casting gusting sphere, moving 30' straight ahead.)

Bull Rush: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

"Well met, Sea Ranger," Kehlysch says with a nod. Then, as is struck by a recollection of something forgotten, he mutters some arcane words and makes a quick gesture.

Spellcraft DC 16:

He is casting mage armor on himself.

"Sorry about the interruption. I'm ready to free some slaves and flense some slavers."

"I'll stay nearby," Kehlysch says. "If you trigger the cloud, I can call some wind to disperse it."

Oops. I guess I was a tad premature on my equipment retrieval...I'll re-post that part for the sake of continuity.

"Well met, Master Alenthieal," Kehlysch replies, returning the nod.

Kehlysch gives an audible sigh of relief as he looks through the bag and confirms that none of his personal affects appear to be missing. He retrieves a pack, bandolier, and several items of clothing, including a ring from the bag. He quickly dresses and settles his gear on his person, then makes a gesture with his hands. All the dirt and grime is pulled from his body, hair and clothing, settling in a small pile on the ground.

He looks to the others and says, "I'm just relieved to still have all my equipment. I was afraid for a moment that I'd have make my way in nothing but small-clothes."

"Well met, Dame Gothia," Kehlysch says, offering a gentlemanly hand to the paladin, as well. "Freedom, Glory and Gold, eh? Sounds good to me. Let's rain the vengeful fires of heaven upon these villains."

The man rises to his feet and gives a nod of thanks. "Kehlysch," he replies. He then moves and retrieves a pack, bandolier, and several items of clothing, including a ring from a pile in the corner. He quickly dresses and settles his gear on his person, and then makes a gesture with his hands. All the dirt and grime is pulled from his body, hair and clothing, settling in a small pile on the ground.

"That's better," he says to no one in particular. "I don't know any more about this place than this room. You were fortunate enough to find me before I was moved to a proper slave pen. Nevertheless, you have freed me, and I will happily aid you for as long as you have need of me. Thank you Ms. Tale, is it?" he takes the bard's hand in gentlemanly fashion, but releases it before the moment becomes too forward.

Kehlysch is a slender man of medium height, with shoulder length white-blonde hair. His features are fairly handsome, and his skin is pale. His most distinctive feature are his eyes, one is a sapphire blue, the other deep mahogany brown.

Now dressed, he is wearing sturdy traveling clothes, a small backpack, and a bandolier loaded with vials of various colored liquids, as well as a small pouch.

Kehlysch looks at the group with an expression mixing hope, expectation, and just a dash of frustration. He shifts his body away from the wall, scutching on his backside, and turning so that his bound hands can be clearly seen.

"All I need is for someone to cut me loose. If you don't want my help ending the slavers' trade, I'll take my gear and leave. Just so you know, I have magical abilities that may prove useful, though."

Sense Motive, whatever DC GM decides:

He is being sincere. He would greatly appreciate being freed, and will happily join the group to stop the slavers.

"Psst! Untie me. I'll help you. I've no love for slaver scum!" comes a voice from the shadows.

A pale-haired man of slight build sits, tied-up, against the wall.

What is my condition? Am I shackled, tied-up, or in a cage? I assume my gear has been taken. If so, is it nearby?

Looking forward to jumping in with both (currently shackled, I assume) feet.

Greetings friends! Looks like I will be joining the campaign sometime here in the near future.

I'm looking forward to adventuring with you all.

A little about me, the Player:

Location: Eastern Time Zone, USA

I've been participating in PbPs here on the Paizo Boards since 2010.

I'm been playing RPGs since about 1982, when I was a child, beginning with the D&D Basic Set (the one with the Erol Otus Sorceress and Warrior vs Sea Dragon image).

I'm married, with two adult sons, ages 24 and 19.

My wife doesn't game, but she doesn't disapprove of it, either.

I do play in a few other currently running PbP campaigns here on the Paizo Boards, and I also have two face-to-face groups. I GM for a Pathfinder 1e group, and I am a player in a D&D 5E group, both of which meet weekly.

Should I go ahead and dot the Gameplay thread, and/or introduce myself in the discussion thread?

Works for me!

All set!

Okay. I went with Protean instead of Aberrant, but he is human.

I didn't do a background or purchase equipment yet because I wasn't sure of where (if selected) I would be appearing in the story.

The basic premise of his story is that he is a scholar of the outer planes, especially those tied to chaos. He has become so out of the necessity of trying to understand and master the powers manifesting within him.

Let me know if this is acceptable, or if anything needs changing.

Also if acceptable, how much starting money for equipment, if any?

Thanks!

Are there any guidelines about starting gold?

Also, are we using the classic Darksun equipment lists, where metal weapons are super rare?

I've been looking through Ultimate Psionics, but can't find a reference to hyperconscious in the feats section. Am I just misssing it?

Question for GM Eltonj: With regard to traits and your warning about misuse of them, I had an idea of taking two traits that would simulate having some small psionic talent: Untapped Potential (social), that allows use of telekinetic projectile once per day, and Magical Talent (magic) that allows use of one 0-level cantrip once per day, which I would use to select mage hand. Would this be acceptable, or would you prefer I not?

Would you allow a druid with the Desert Druid archetype from Advanced Player's Guide?

I just realized Verdant Bloodline isn't in the Core Rulebook. It looks like I will have to pick another Bloodline.

Kehlysch seizes the minstrel by the upper part of his arm. ”You and the barkeep are coming with us. Any further protestations will be the last words you utter.”

"Your confession is noted," Kehlysch replies to the bard. "You are under arrest. Come with us. Resistance will be futile and fatal."

"Let's be about the Empire's Business. Anyone who will be acting as the arresting offers, put on your sashes, and join me in entering the inn and confronting the innkeeper directly. Anyone who will be watching the exits for an attempt to run, move into position as quickly as possible," Kehlysch remarks in his reserved tone. He manner is not one of assuming command, but carrying a clear interest in getting on with their duties.

"Are we under express orders to bring this man, Caggan, in alive?" Kehlysch asks pointedly. "To what degree are we permitted to use deadly force if he should resist, or have armed comrades offering violence on his behalf?"

As he speaks he attaches the sash to his clothing. He seems to visibly relax once it is in place.

Seeing everyone else in the group complying, Kehlysch steps forward, touches the stone and says, "I swear my absolute allegiance to the Empire of Cheliax, Her Infernal Majestrix Queen Abrogail II of the Thrice-Damned House of Thrune, and to Archbaron Darellus Fex."

"Well met," Kehlysch says in a voice reserved for libraries, churches, and clandestine gatherings, giving a small bow of his head to the combined group. "I am Kehlysch," he adds, without further elaboration.

He looks around the room at the various items, taking particular interest in the titles of the books on the shelves.

Hello! Thanks for selecting me. I’m looking forward to the adventure!

You missed me! I neglected to post a few things in my initial application up-thread so here it goes:

Concept: Investigator, Ruthless Agent Archetype. Kehlysch is a 'true believer' of the Chelish model of government. He is also of the mindset that it is necessary for certain individuals to do whatever it takes to make sure that system works, even if those actions fall outside the law.

Background: is in Profile.

Party Role: As an investigator, Kehlysch will be versatile character with a combination of knowledges, skills, precision damage, and alchemy. He will be able to back-up or temporarily fill any niche the party needs.

I was part of a HV PbP where the DM recently disappeared. Here is a human investigator I was playing that I believe fits all the criteria. I would like to throw my hat into the ring.

Let me know if there are any adjustments you would like made to him.

"Let us move on. Split up if we're spotted. We'll reunite back where we first met," Kehlysch suggests.

”I suggest not drawing further attention to ourselves. Let us slip out the back, if we’re able,” Kehlysch suggests.
