Heyo! My order has been stuck in limbo for like 3 days between UPS and USPS, somewhere in North Houston. USPS says they received the notification of it arriving with them soon, but haven't actually received it yet, and UPS said I need to contact the sender. I know my neighbor is probably in the same bundle of shipments (potentially any other people in my local area). So now I'm reaching out to you as this is the next step after contacting UPS and USPS. Is there anything that can be done?
I need to cancel my Starfinder Adventure Path subscription after this current shipment, I need a little time to prep for PF2, and getting blitzed with 4 AP books and 3 hardback books is going to destroy me lol. Need all the time I can to prep. :D Will probably pick up again later, but gotta cut where I can!
The Rostland Bravo gives you Aldori Dueling Sword proficiency, but there is no clause in it allowing Aldori Dueling Sword to function with Swashbuckler's Finesse 'without' an outside aid (Either aldori Dueling Mastery or Slashing Grace) so the archetype doesn't fully work as is. Was this intentional, or should there be some additional clause?
So, I really, really want to play a Red Mantis Assassin, and have been able to 'logic' playing them in some other games, (even going so far as to think of a decent idea for Hell's Rebels, but I'm running it, so not really able to there) but was wondering if you all, developers/authors and the brain trust of the forums felt a Red Mantis Assassin could fit in with this AP? As a side note, the Hell's Rebels RMA idea was that this particular devotee of Achaekek felt that the Thrunes had no 'legitimate' right to the nation, and that 'technically' Iomadae should have sway over the nation (being Aroden's chosen herald, and then his technical successor)
I'm going to be running Hell's Rebels for 5 people, and wanted a little input on how to help them keep up in levels, and provide a decent enough challenge. Right now, I'm between two ideas, one simple, the other a little more work, but some fun. The first one would be to just up the ante on the ap, so like in some fights where there are multiple enemies, just add an extra enemy or two (roughly 25% more enemies) This way the ratio of pc's to enemies is maintained, and hopefully it'll keep things a little more even. My second idea is to come up with my own events for each book, similar to the 'adventures in magnimar' stuff in Shattered star, something that can be implemented from the onset, providing some more encounters for them to have, stretching the books a little bit more, and even providing some additional treasure for them to split. What do you guys think? I'm also up for any other suggestions, so fire away!
Can I postpone my subscription authorizing until the 15th? I know that's a ways away, but I'm in a dry zone of payroll right now, and won't have money until then, if that's too late to maintain my subscription that's fine too, I'll find a way to manage, I'm just trying to find the path of least resistance lol. Thanks.
I don't know if this is a problem other people are having, but the strategy guide is in the subscription section of my page. I'm not sure if I'll get it, but it IS there when it's supposed to be "not part of the subscription" or however it's worded. Just thought you may like to know in case this is a common problem, or something you need/want to fix.
I haven't played PFS in a while, and had about 2 levels of GM credit stored up for a character (3 normal scenarios, and a sanctioned module,) but have now misplaced the chronicle sheets, as the last time I played/gm'd was now over 2 years ago. Since I don't have the chronicle sheets, am I just boned out of the credit and whatever character I make can't utilize them, or is there a way to claim it?
Alright, there's probably an answer to this somewhere, but there's hundreds of item creation threads, and I don't have time at the moment to dig through them all: Some classes have access to some item creation feats at very low, to lower levels than they should. (I.E. Wizard, Witch [cauldron hex], and alchemist) My question is this: Is there an official ruling (RAW) on being able to use Item Creation feats at character creation (being able to churn out potions of extracts you know for crafting cost, for example.) I normally allow it, but the GM in a game I'm in would like the RAW, as he's relatively new to PF.
So, I'm running a game where the party has gone to the what remains of Azlant, mostly the islands that remains. I'm curious as to what kinds of sentient creatures you guys think would still be there. I had planned on having some small pockets of feral Azlant humans living in a barbarian-esque culture, but beyond that I'm lost. I don't want the barbarians to be the first thing they encounter, so I need something, or somethings for them to encounter first.
So, in the Troop Attack section it mentions troops do automatic damage to any enemy within the troop area or within reach of the troop, no attack roll necessary. However, in the Troop stat block presented in the book, it actually has an attack bonus for the troop attack. I'm more wondering which way is correct; the swarm style (no attack) or having an attack bonus (as the stat block states). Any opinions or if a Paizo person has input (I know you guys are busy w/ PaizoCon, but I figured it didn't hurt to ask) I'd appreciate it.
I've decided to run a mythic playtest within my Runelords campaign (as if my title didn't give it away :P ). The party is 6 strong and so far, just from initial observation, here's what we have: So far, a lot of "dual path" takers, lots of "one archetype + Champion" Even the Wizard is taking Champion as a 2nd path, to grab the armor-related champion abilities at low tiers before he snags the higher level Archmage stuff. There are 2 divine casters in the party, a Druid and a Cleric (who's multiclassing into fighter, as he's more of a crossbow-user, Crusader of Abadar. The Druid is taking Heirophant with Marshal as a 2nd path. I believe the Cleric is Champion/Marshal. Our Paladin is a Guardian/Champion. I believe she only took Champion to snag the "to the death" path ability, which mystifies me as to why it's not on the Guardian path. The Rogue of the party is a Multiclass character as well, going Trickster for his path. I think he may take another path for his 2nd feat. My personal observation: Dual Path is really, really good. It's one of those that, unless your going for a particular set of path abilities/feats, it's almost a no-brainer to take. While I understand that not everyone is going to take it, or wants to take it, I personally feel it's one of the most valuable ones to take. I'll update more here as I have more to post. We'll probably play once or twice a month, and as right now, they just finished the Misgivings, and are Tier 2, about to head to Magnimar.
So, I'm planning on making my society character an Aldori Sword Lord, but need to know if I can make the prerequisites easily. Could someone post them so I could work toward the prerequisites with the level I recently gained? Sorry about the odd wording, I have a hard time conveying my thoughts in text when I'm in a hurry :P Thanks!
So, I'm getting ready to run rise of the rune lords, and was considering re-writing Nualia up using not only ARG, but Blood of Angels and Inner Sea magic. Beyond the race stuff, I was considering using the Divine Scion Prestige class, with "maybe" fudging prerequisites for the prestige class prerequisites for purposes of the weapon focus (allowing Bastard Sword) I'm either planning Cleric 4/Fighter 1/Divine Scion 1 or Oracle 5/Divine Scion 1. Mostly wanting to do this to use the class as I really enjoy the prestige class and want to use it since she's the pic for the prestige class in the book. Any thoughts, should I just not worry about it, or should I give her a Falchion?
I'm considering multiclassing to Buccaneer in our Skulls & Shackles game (hooray ARG!) So, I have a feat related question: Amateur Gunslinger states that I get the grit and a single 1st level Gunslinger Deed, for now, we say I chose quick clear. Now, in a few levels I multiclass to Buccaneer, which the feat then changes to "Extra Grit", as I'm now a Gunslinger. Would I just lose the deed (quick clear?) The feat doesn't go into detail what it does for non-standard Gunslingers...
The Black Blade gains an enhancement bonus as the Magus levels, but can you add additional enhancement bonuses through spending money? Also, from the natural enhancement bonuses it gets, can you use them for abilities? (for example, when the magus hits 5th level, his black blade's bonus increases to +2, can it be a +1 keen weapon, for example, or must it be a +2 weapon?)
I've gone through a few of the vital strike threads here to see the verdicts, and it's overwhelming on the side of not being able to do much with it. However, I have a question for those at Paizo: Vital Strike (greater vital strike to be exact) is mentioned in Treeraiser's stat block (from the Inner Sea World Guide) and it's mentioned in his tactics that he charges with it. Is this a misprint, or an oversight, or what? Sorry if my post seems rude or snappy, just curious.
Using Eldritch Heritage, could anyone technically get the ability to make they're own custom weapon using the Arcane Bloodline's ability? (Arcane Bond, using weapon as your choice.) It says the character doesn't need the relevant crafting feat to enchant the item, so could a fighter take Eldritch heritage and have a sword he could upgrade whenever he wished?
I'm playtesting a lvl 8 Gunslinger for a home game, and I have two questions for creation: The Gunsmithing/gunsmith kit allows me to make ammunition at 10% of normal costs, does this go for metal cases (modern firearms) as well? Also, if I'm making special material ammo, like Adamant and Mithral, do I add in the cost of the special material before reducing the cost or after? ex. Adamant adds +60g per shot. The Base cost of Metal Cases are 20g. Would the cost of crafting adamamantine ammo be 62g (60g + the 10% cost of the metal case) or would it be 8
There's tons of threads here about what's wrong with firearms, and to a lesser extent the Gunslinger, but I'd like to point out what I like about them. Firearms: Overall, I'm satisfied with the base concept of firearms. There's been talk about making them a Simple Weapon, since it's not hard to use them, but I disagree. The Exotic weapon is a decent concept for a medieval fantasy. For example: firing a gun is pretty easy, and it's not TOO hard to hit a decent sized target from close range, but this is represented in the "touch attack" at melee range (though this could be handled other ways, I think this is the "best" way to handle it without over complicating things.) However, to hit well, and be able to fire consistently accurately, the proficiency would be required. Even at low levels, a -4 to attack rolls is a small price to pay to be able to hit with a great axe or longsword on a touch attack (along with the x4 crit chance.) While the reloading of the firearm makes it impossible to near impossible to get multiple attacks, this forces the player to go about using the weapon for more than just straight damage. Rogues could obviously use this for a combat opener, sneak attack with a great axe against touch ac is pretty nice, especially if your not at point blank range, but within sneak attack range. Fighters would be able to use them for the multitude of ranged feats that grant not only damage bonuses, but can also give special effects (stun, etc.) Gunslingers: I really like this class. For a full base attack class, it's pretty unique, for the fact that it's a more "utility" offensive class, with all of it's Grit abilities, and combined with it's skill and feat options, it's not bad at all. It's a class that forces player's to think outside the box a little. A gunslinger can do decent damage (with feats like vital strike, deadly aim and point blank shot), and can use other decent feats like Combat Expertise, but it requires the player to approach a ranged class differently than before, think outside the box a little. Ultimately, I think they both need a little work, but not as much as everyone thinks. If I had to change anything, it'd be the cost of the ammo. |
