Kazeem gets tight lipped and doesn't comment on Tariq's insult. Instead she turns to Maysam and and summarizes. "So there was this group who slaughtered your guards, who disappeared after the act. And then there is this group who supposedly searched for something that is theirs and came to a mutual agreement with the guild. Would you like to file a complaint against this group, or do you agree that there was a mutual agreement and everything is settled?"

As Maysam shakes her head to the complaint and nods on the settled, Kazim turns back to Tariq and the others. "You might not be used to how things go in Katapesh. It looks like today even a group of murderers got away. It's a shame, isn't it." Her words drip with sarcasm.

"We're done here." she calls out to the guards, and without a further word she leaves, followed by the men.

"Fine with me, if that walking away leads you out of the city." Kazim comments.

"This explains that." Kazim comments as she joins in the office on hearing her name.

"So tell me. Will I have to deal with complaints about your intrusion here from the leadership of the One Source Merchants Guild for the next time? Or have you settled your disagreement."

Sense Motive DC20:
There is a short whiff of a smile on Kazim's face.

"As you are no longer in the possession of the map there is no need for me to be involved anymore. We'll take the intruders with us."

The guards shackle the living ones and shoulder the dead ones and retreat.

"That is really unfortunate. But the city will not resolve that issue for you." Kazim replies.

Kazim does not waste any time on pleasantries. She suggests that the party have a conversation in Rayhan’s common room, where she gestures toward the seats. As soon as all are seated, she sits herself, and
begins to speak.

"Greetings. I apologize for my abrupt arrival, but there is a matter we must discuss. Know that I am here on both the authority of the church and that of the Pactmasters—and I bring word of their displeasure. Both have been troubled recently by your arrival in our city. They had hoped your claim was false, or that if it were true, you would conduct your business swiftly and be gone. The traffic of powerful artifacts is welcome in Katapesh, but it also causes the worst of men’s natures to rise. What has happened here last night is proof of that."

"While the city respects the value of an individual’s property, and theft violates the highest laws of the land, inciting riots and disrupting trade is equally offensive to our codes, and you currently walk a fine line in that regard."

"Know that several parties have come to the Pactmasters and demanded that the city force you to relinquish control of the Scroll of Kakishon to the highest bidder. Specifically, the One Source Merchants’ Guild is threatening a trade embargo if they are not allowed the opportunity to bid for the map. Though you are the rightful owner and cannot be forced to sell, they therefore ask you to choose a buyer within the next day or else leave the city. It is one thing to hold out on a trade for the best price, but another to hold out so long that our merchants lose sight of their civility."

"You have but one other option. If you can find out who perpetrated this crime against you and the master of this house, and if you can bring me proof that the situation has been resolved before the time limit elapses, both the church and the Pactmasters will be appreciative of your efforts and turn deaf ears to the complaints of a few jealous merchants."

Obviously it wasn't mentioned to Kazim that the scroll is gone.

Shortly thereafter Kazim thanks Rayhan and the Knights of Kelmarane for the wonderful evening, the opportunity to talk about the legendary artifact and the marvelous entertainment. And lastly tells her goodbye and leaves.

The other guests follow the example and after thanking for the invitation and praising them they leave too.

Kazim voices her excitement about that marvelous display of skill to paint the night sky in colors.

And the others agree with that by joining the enthusiastic applause.

The alst to arrive is Kazim, the official representative of the church of Abadar. You notice from the attitude of the others towards her, that she is the most important person this evening.

She wears an elegant but simple white and green robe. She is observant and quiet at the party, but when she speaks (usually to compliment someone or to make an observation that is relatively obvious), the other guests listen attentively and agree with her in an almost exaggerated manner.
