I thought it was dead too... and I am okay with it if that is what everyone wants. I didn't enjoy playing a hunter as much as I thought I would. But I'm in, with this character or a new one, if you guys do want get things going again. I'm in other games, so I'll be checking in anyway.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Here.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah dismisses the entangle since it isn't doing any good anymore.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

yikes.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah attacks again:

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah steps back and shoots the nearest reefclaw. Drake steps in front of her, guarding.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah casts entangle, hoping to catch the creatures before they can get into range of the party.

Putting a circle on the map to indicate where the spell is. DC 14 save.

Text of Spell:

Range long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level)
Area plants in a 40-ft.-radius spread
Duration 1 min./level (D)
Saving Throw Reflex partial; see text; Spell Resistance no

DESCRIPTION

This spell causes tall grass, weeds, and other plants to wrap around creatures in the area of effect or those that enter the area. Creatures that fail their save gain the entangled condition. Creatures that make their save can move as normal, but those that remain in the area must save again at the end of your turn. Creatures that move into the area must save immediately. Those that fail must end their movement and gain the entangled condition. Entangled creatures can attempt to break free as a move action, making a Strength or Escape Artist check. The DC for this check is equal to the DC of the spell. The entire area of effect is considered difficult terrain while the effect lasts.

If the plants in the area are covered in thorns, those in the area take 1 point of damage each time they fail a save against the entangle or fail a check made to break free. Other effects, depending on the local plants, might be possible at GM discretion.

Kazariah and Drake walk around the side of the lagoon to inspect the drake, seeming to confirm Daichi's theory of what happened. Kaz shares the information with the party.

She also keeps an eye out for anything else out of place.

Perception K: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (7) + 17 = 24 (using aspect of the falcon).

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah prays briefly at the shrine to her goddess.

It's too bad I don't have any empty flasks to take some of the holy water with us, after having it provided to us so kindly. I wonder... do you think this is an indication that we will need it? I could empty out my extra waterskin and put holy water in it instead.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

As they head through the town to the South, Kazariah and Drake both look for anything unusual or out of place, or indicators of recent passage.

Using Aspect of the Falcon

Perception K: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31
Perception D: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah and Drake follow, ready to lend help as needed.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

As Kazariah follows, she switches the animal aspect on Drake to Falcon, and applies it to herself as well.

gives them both a +4 to perception

She then looks around to see if there are any clues to recent travel or disturbances in the area.

Perception: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah and Drake continue to follow, keeping watch for any movement. This place seems a little creepy. What happened to everyone?

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kaz throws a grenade as close to Borak as possible.

Grenade: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah follows.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

The more the merrier, I say. I'll stand back and shoot arrows if I can. And if things do get too busy, Drake doesn't really need to be involved in melee. He can just be on bodyguard duty. We're here to help you guys out, not to crowd you out of the action. :)

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah and Drake follow Derric. It seemed like a strange way to save someone, but they were determined to help in whatever way they could.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Stay safe, Derric.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

A... curse?

When she finds out that they do need to "carry on," she flashes an apologetic look to Leo, and readies her stuff for a journey to the castle to find the cause of the curse and stop it.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Carry on? We need to find out what is wrong with her and solve it. We're not savages, forced to allow people to die. We live in an enlightened age where magic can heal almost anything. Let's find out what's going on.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kaz dashes over to Ameiko and lays a hand on her head.

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Then she checks to see if she can determine if anything else is wrong with her.

Heal Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Wow. Super bad roll. I can't tell a thing

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Ameiko, you look a little pale. Are you okay?

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah shoots again, berating herself for being such a poor hunter, especially in front of Shalelu.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Looks like another miss. No need to roll damage.

Sorry for the delay. I think I saw the notification for this while I was at work on Monday and told myself I would post when I got home, but then I was immersed in other games with new notifications and forgot. I apologize.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah attacks the spider on the left.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Swift Action--Aspect of the Beast (Wondertwin Powers Activate): Kazariah Aspect of the Tiger, which raises Dex by 2, giving me another +1 to attack with my bow), and Drake Aspect of the Monkey, which gives him +4 to climb.

Kaz attacks the spider on the left.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

She also tells Drake to attack.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kaz helps out by casting mending to repair people's weapons and armor whenever they request it, but is unable to repair the broken wakizashi.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah doesn't get a share... that was a condition of joining the game. It doesn't make sense for me to get anything, since I did not participate in gaining it.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Or Kazariah could cast Mending on it, right?

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Seeing that Shalelu is going, Kazariah doesn't hesitate.

I don't need to think. I'm coming. I was only waiting around to convince Shalelu to travel with me anyway, so whatever the task and the danger, I'm in.

She grins.

Plus, I don't think I've ever been to a castle. Sounds fun.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah takes out a book she picked up about Ancient Thassilon, and curls up in a seat by Drake and starts to read.

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Hmm. Yeah, that could work if she needs animals trained...?

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Thanks Daichi. :)

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Drake, come.

Derric, everyone, meet Drake, my faithful companion. ... Don't be scared. He's very cuddly unless I ask him not to be... or he's hungry...

Say hello, Drake

Do you have to roll handle animal every time if they already know tricks? Rolling, but ignore if you don't have to:

Handle Animal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Greetings, Derric. She smiles back.

She isn't scared. She trains tigers. Speaking of which... did Ameiko let Drake in here, or did I need to leave him elsewhere?

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Hello, Daichi. Hmm. That doesn't bode well for my trip I'm afraid.

And hello, charming Sandpoint native guy. That's a nasty bruise. How'd you get it?

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Kazariah walks over, and responds to the man that welcomed her with The pleasure is mine.

After the story, she looks appropriately impressed.

Wow. That's an incredible story, and kind of you to help Ameiko out like that.

To Ameiko: A letter from the past. How fascinating. You'll have to tell me about it after you think it over for a few days. ... By the way, have you seen Shelelu? My job here ends in a few days, and I was hoping to get her to come with me to explore the next big thing. Haven't really decided what that is yet, but that's half the fun.

To the rest of the table: You guys can call me Kaz if you like. Tell me about yourselves. Are you from here?

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Cool. Human-Kitsune relationships are always tough, but I wish you well. :)

Kaz is here on a job training some noble's animals to hunt. Any likely nobles that might have said animals?

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Thanks for the welcome. And sounds good about your true form. ... But I can't speak for Drake. He might consider you appetizing. Luckily, he's well trained. Just have to keep him fed. ;)

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Cavalier on a Llama. I love it.

... I mean, I wouldn't *do* it. All the other Cavaliers would laugh. But I would like to *observe* it. ;)

Map Female Aasimar Inactive

Still working, but this is probably enough to let you take a look. I haven't chosen weapons or bought equipment (most of that list is from a different character I was copying from. Will keep some but not all.)... also usually add more notes and stuff, but hey, I think the rest is done. ... take a look. Tell me I got anything wrong.

Looking forward to joining you. Sorry this is taking me so long.
