Gotcha. I agree, knowing how we will be treated if we us something and its later found to be an exploit would be good.

I have played table top for years and never heard of RAI as an acronym. Good to know. Yeah I agree as they are intended and how they are written are two different things. I am pretty confident that this early group will be good at taking any rules as written to their farthest logical use and figure out how to break anything thats breakable.

I think I saw somewhere that Ryan and crew knew that if something can be exploited it will be. Thats good to hear, because thats the reality of games these days.

I am sort of surprised that this title will be land granting in early enrollment instead of making us compete and scrap for it in game. Also am i to believe that to get you settlement the gm's will have to build it for you? Once built can it be deduced to nothing, and rebuilt later?

I am honestly surprised we have not seen more people at the $100 level. I figured people would be dying to get in to the early enrollment. I know I am going to love being one of the first people in to the game wear I can really make my mark on the game.

Question: If I am in a Alliance that is at odds with the alliance you are in, are we flagged or what ever to kill each other on sight?

What about if my company is at war with your company/settlement?

In either of those situations what am I subject to, bounties, or flags?

So being a privateer for warring factions is a real possibility.

I would love it if PC run towns could hire NPCs to do things in town (bankers, vendors, etc). I would also like to see the NPC's have needs like needing to consume some food each day, that the town owners have to supply. This could make sieges have a whole new level to them if the NPCs stop working due to a lack of food.

Bravo! So glad this game will be like this. Want to play it safe? Stay in town with the women and children. Want better rewards, you have to take some risks.

So what if I wanted to start a PC owned/run town for bandits and outlaws that gives aid and comfort to the bad people of the world?

(Not saying I would want to do this, but it woudl be good to know that its possible.)

Just for the record, I have never had a character survive a single session... and I was ok with every death... even the one where I was killed by a buffalo. :)

I sense you have an idea in mind for how to handle this. Is it aggressive community management? Or is it to make the characters less disposable?

I wish I had a magic bullet. :)

We do have a few tricks up our sleeves. At some point we'll talk more about them.

Since EvE seems to be looked at pretty heavily AND EvE has a large amount of griefing (not that *I* am complaining) I thought I would mention something that I think EvE is missing that you could add early on that could address this, and promote player interaction.

In EVE and here I think the answer would be a good bounty system. In EVE, to me that would mean that if someone sets a $100m ISK Bounty on a criminal that they have to lose 100m ISK in ships (at market value). That would keep people from gaming the system. In PFO... I don't know what that would mean really since we lack ships.

However the point is if you give us the ability to police ourselves that is not easy or profitable to exploit, I think we will.
