Thank you for running this. Can't say it was my favorite scenario but I think you did great, especially putting up with us players given the delay during the holidays :).

Heh - yeah, Elindriel's Axe Beak mount from Quest for Perfection hasn't exactly been useful.

Grimbli will go ahead and choose the Custom Order boon (I'm thinking that the Lesser Designating enchantment might be helpful, for those times we don't have a bard and Grimbli's out of spells - he just needs a crossbow).

Thanks for the clarifications/discussion/etc.

Lesser Designating is Morale. A Bard's Inspire Courage +hit is Competence. They stack just fine.

What it would not stack with are such things as Bless, Flagerbearer feat, or one of my new favorite feats Battlecry.

It does indeed look as though Druids do not get to make use of the boon.

Honestly though, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Much like a bard does not get use of an Axe Beak.

Kath wouldn't mind trying to convince someone to open the door. As a social skill his best is diplomacy at +4.

In other news it looks like we found the cipher that was plaguing Kath's search. :)

In the interest of time here is a roll to convince the housekeeper to let us search the room that is missing. Throw it out if you don't feel it is relevant.

Greetings kind lady. You have a most glorious complexion. It is of the utmost importance that we enter the room. We are on an urgent mission and have no time to waste!

Trying to be charming and making sure not to lie, but also not mentioning the Pathfinder Society.

So seems like that's it? I believe we found the cipher that Kath was looking for. Anything else that we need to get?

Does it count if I cracked the code outside of the game (At least I think I did, there appears to be a typo in the cipher?)

GM:

HASTHEBELLOFOBECIENCE (probably should be Obedience)

Honestly, probably the only reason I figured out what this was is that I am playing Devil We Know part 4 on a different character, (Kath himself played parts 1-3). So the Bell of Obedience is quite fresh in my memory. If I am right, it's kind of nice how the senarios play off each other like this, what four seasons later?

The typo made it more difficult then it should have been :(

Think it would be worth Stealthing? In my opinion probably not with the time constraints. Additionally assuming taking a 10 the entire time, I think Periel would be around a 5. Also I find this might be - relevant :).

And there goes my future in code cracking. Kath thinks jokingly.

Kath will assist with setting up the cards and will prepare himself to go down, retrieving his buckler from his pack and strapping it on his arm, sword as always ready on his waist.

Human Male Swashbuckler (3) HPs 31/31, AC 19, FF 15, T 14, CMD 17, Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +2, Init +5, Per +7

Kath will check for older Taldorian books on ciphers while others look for the entrance. Although he will assist if his help is directly requested (or an alarm is sounded).

Start with taking a 10 on preception for 17, if you want just a bunch of preception rolls let me know, or you can roll for me if that is easier.

Human Male Swashbuckler (3) HPs 31/31, AC 19, FF 15, T 14, CMD 17, Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +2, Init +5, Per +7

I believe it would be possible to stow a chain shirt and a buckler in a pack? Kath will keep his rapier in a comfortable position. It shouldn't be too threatening, and besides - he would find it fasionable.

Just some people who aren't in the mood to party and are hoping to get some work done without undo distractions. Do you prehaps have any works on old cipher's that you could recommend?

Kath says, being careful to make sure what he is saying is the truth.

Also you would probably want a cloak of resistance.

Your original list had you at roughly 7.7k gold. Would you consider buying your mithril/cold iron daggers with Prestige points instead? Shave 556g off your bill and possibly pick up a Cloak of Resistance +1.

Total would then be about 7.3k gold and 4 PP.

I'm actually a fan of buying MW weapons with prestige to allow the gold to be spent elsewhere, but that may just be me.

Human Male Swashbuckler (3) HPs 31/31, AC 19, FF 15, T 14, CMD 17, Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +2, Init +5, Per +7

An -

50% unless it was purchased with PP, in which case you get nothing.

But that's if you wanted to change it to another armor completely, for example, you now want full plate. If you wanted to upgrade your current armor (ie. turn your current masterwork armor into +1) you just pay for the upgrade, which would be 1k.

Holman -

I recommend you don't buy an illegal item (Sorry, Quick Runner's Shirt is not a valid purchase). CURSE YOUR SLOW FEET! :)

Also a funny quirk about mithril daggers. Since You are small, and since small daggers original weight is 1/2 pound the price becomes 252. Yes this makes a small mithril dagger cost less then a small masterwork one. shrug

I'd skip the Amulet of Natural Armor for the moment and upgrade one of your daggers, probably the admantine one. You want to make sure you can bypass DR/magic. +1 weapons are considered always available so you don't need to worry about fame limiting the upgrade. Also get a spare cold iron dagger, ideally masterwork, to cover your DR types.

Grand Lodge

Human Male Swashbuckler (3) HPs 31/31, AC 19, FF 15, T 14, CMD 17, Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +2, Init +5, Per +7

An, PFS grants 1 XP per scenario and each level is 3 XP, so the only way that could be true is if you just leveled, and since you just completed a mission that's impossible.

Kath will daringly move through the skeletons, darting back and forth while drawing his rapier and attack one from the back.

Move with Acrobatics through the skeletons + Derring Do: 1d20 + 9 + 1d6 ⇒ (15) + 9 + (5) = 29

Assuming that gets him through Kath will enhance the precision of his strike as well as making a more powerful blow. Skeletons generally ignore piercing weapons, but they will not ignore him!

Attack skeleton - Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 1 = 20
Damage + Precision + Power Attack (Magic/Piercing) : 1d6 + 3 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 6 + 2 = 14

If Kath is attacked in melee by Dalirio he will use Dodging Panache to move 5' to where the skeleton (was hopefully) destroyed
