HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek takes advantage of the haste to leave the statue behind and swing in sonce at the Arclord. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
Put markers to show his 3 strides.
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek swings in again at grey. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Then hasted Karvek uses his third action and quick action to double slice again. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 - 10 ⇒ (4) + 12 - 10 = 6
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 - 8 ⇒ (15) + 12 - 8 = 19
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 Couldn't end it any other way Karvek dodges flaming sphere one more time before it winks out. He then turns his picks on grey statue again. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 1 = 18
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 1 = 19
Blah... Karvek casts shield to help his defenses against the surrounding statues. +1 AC
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
After all that practice burning from the exploding elementals, Karvek seems completely immune to this wussy fire spell and avoids it. His nimble moves cost him when the grease strikes as he slips and falls. He stands up, nods to Annilda "Thanks for the healing. Yes - a smashing good time! Haha!" He swings in with both picks at Grey, to potentially open the path to the wizards. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 1 = 18
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 12 + 1 = 20
Awww i don't think he shattered this one...
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek steps away from green and toward cyan, and double slices to try and break up another statue. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 12 + 1 = 33
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 12 + 1 = 20
Karvek can only break statues
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 Dodging the flaming sphere, Karvek continues laughing off all the spells thrown at him, unconcerned that his confidence might jinx him to debilitating defeat at any moment. When the Arclord flees, KArvek takes the opportunity to attack
On his turn, he chases down Prakhavu, passing his apprentice and dashing behind the arclord. Karvek hacks in with both picks.
Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Reflex vs flaming sphere: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Karvek laughs as he avoids the spells. But then cries as he realizes two more crits went down the drain. He steps lightly to avoid slipping, and then strides to get out of the gas and next to the arclord. He swings only once And not sure if the target is tripped, or flanked by Annilda
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
He swings both his picks at one of the statues (black) Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 12 + 1 = 32
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 12 + 1 = 27
His strikes (probably) plow deep into another foe. Karvek casts his shield cantrip for a little more protection. +1 AC from shield, and still blurry
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek initiates the battle, running out of the sphere and double slicing the purple statue. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 12 + 1 = 32
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 12 + 1 = 26
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Feeling very heroic now, Karvek checks the strategy with he others. "So just to make sure we are all on the same page... Given the inscrutable tactics we believe Prakhavu has demonstrated, we are going in hard to take him down now? And any remaining questions to be potentially asked at a later time?"
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek uses his shield block to put a dent in that crossbow bolt's damage, taking 10 off, but disabling his cantrip for 10 minutes. (So Karvek HP -39 instead, but wait for it...) It seems like Karvek should have earned some kind of circukmstance bonus to all these elementals blowing up by now haha!
Karvek swings at the elemental again.
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
He then takes a potential AoO or explosion as he moves on from the elementals to take on the blasted sniper.
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek takes another double pick attack on Brown this time. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 12 + 1 = 27
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 12 + 1 = 23
Then he activates his shield spell for a little more defense
And he roasts again.
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Assuming Red is taken down by those attacks, Karvek climbs out of the water (probably takes an AoO) out of the water to double slice orange. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Awwwww the whole point of this guy is to get those sick pick crits (tm)... Shoulda thought of that and ran for the humanoid one. Oh well. Karvek Tankgles some more with the elemental in front of him, remembering that he's inspired this time! Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 12 + 1 = 20
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 12 + 1 = 27
Then he pops his shield spell for 1 more AC. If he happens to kill yellow he'll instead jump in the water (he could make it to the square SW of Earvil with 35 speed). If he doesn't get wet, he cooks some more.
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek does take an Attack Of Opportunity, since he's a fighter he can actually do it! AoO Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 12 - 2 = 15
On his turn, he steps closer to the yellow one and double slices. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
He then smoulders a little.
So HP -17 now
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek draws his larger pick, moves to one of the elementals (orange), and attacks it. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek takes a look at the sunrod, and asks her a few questions to get her talking more. "A nice bit of alchemical work there. So many devices nowadays literally suck the energy right out of a wielder, it's nice to see something more old fashioned that just works like it's supposed to." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek repeats his attack. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 12 + 1 = 15
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 12 + 1 = 22
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Satisfied by his previous brutal hit, Karvek swings his picks again. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 12 + 1 = 26
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 12 + 1 = 26
Then he casts shield again (AC 24 / 21)
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Oops that also needs the pick's critical specialization added in. Which is more damage! +1 damage per weapon die (including extras for crits). So each crit gets +5 more damage, and I'll add it to my dice texts from now on. So it's either (12 + 34 + 5 - DR) or (39 + 5 + 34 + 5 - DR)
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
No worries, life happens Inspired by Seo-yeon's song, Karvek swings twice again. Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 12 + 1 = 30
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 12 + 1 = 33
oooh at least one of those is a crit! Then he casts shield for +1 AC
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
If Karvek decided not to try the grapple, he probably would draw his weapons just in case, can I do that in the last turn? If not, he doesn't cast shield Karvek attacks with both his picks at the same time in a double slice.
Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
Light Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
If both hit and neither is a crit, that's 18 damage as one 'chunk'. Then he casts shield on himself for +1 AC and ability to use the shield block reaction. @Annilda: maybe I'm wrong, but I think the +2 attack and 2 dice is for the +2 version. If you have the +1 version it's like other +1 weapons and gives +1 attack and 1 extra damage die.
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek looks over the Golem, mostly interested in determining if it might actually break free, and if that seems possible, he'd wonder if he could grapple it to give the others more time to investigate it while it's still functioning. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 If grappling seems like a good idea: Karvek tries to restrain the golem to keep it from breaking out of its chains. Grapple (Athletics Attack) vs fortitude DC: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 Grapple (Athletics Attack) vs fortitude DC: 1d20 + 10 - 5 ⇒ (2) + 10 - 5 = 7
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
I played Fumbus once. He's cursed. More like Fumbles. Society: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Karvek shrugs now that they have accomplished the physical task. "Any of you have an idea what this all means?"
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek continues trying to pry the flat man off the giant foot. Athletics (Disarm): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
And tries to hold on again at the end.
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek tries to maintain his balance as the golem moves. (No action)
He holds on, and grabs at the body again, three times. (3 actions, since we need multiple successes)
Then he tries to hold on as the Golem moves again.
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
oops i didn't understand what that was on the map or read or think haha. Well I'll switch feet, I think the following is the way that would work. Over-explaining rules as I go since we're all learning and I have to look most of these up still Karvek carefully slides off to the north. Assurance feat (with feet!) to get 15 on acrobatics when maintaining balance, purposefully failing non-critically. That's a free action. Karvek lands near the other foot and climbs that one. (1 action)
Now on the correct foot, Karvek tries to reach under and pull the corpse free. (1 action, since Disarm has the Attack trait, it doesn't include armor check penalty)
If that's not good enough, Karvek tries again. (1 action, now includes multiple attack penalty per page 305)
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Watching the little goblin struggle, Karvek reconsiders his strategy and decides to give riding a shot. With the golem distracted, he strides to the foot (action 2) and attempts to grab on (action 3). Athletics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek's armor is too heavy and his assurance feats too useless to manage to ride the golem, so he tries to yell at it instead to give the others a chance. "Stop stomping around and slow down a second!" Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Karvek follows the gorup as well. He's a burly half-elf (probably a bit less than half-elf to be honest), and carries a pair of mismatched picks strapped to his back. Karvek tries to follow all the talk of arclords and books, but it's a little out of the comfort zone for the rustic farm-boy turned adventurer. "Will this purely be information-gathering, or should we seek to mete out some justice if we can find the murderer?" Sorry for abruptness, I'm travelling today
HP 73/73 | AC 23, TAC 20 | F+9 R+9 W +5 | Perc +6 | Half-Elf Fighter 5
Make that Fatal weapons. 95% done, most of character is together, think I'm just just missing little mundane purchases. Character Sheet Fatal Weapon: Here's how I guess I'll roll with the pick's fatal keyword
Pick +1 Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29 Piercing Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 3) + 4 = 10 OR Fatal Critical: 5d10 + 8 ⇒ (1, 9, 6, 7, 3) + 8 = 34 That would deal 10 damage on a hit, but if the enemy had <= 19 AC, it would do 34 damage instead.
