I've been busy as hell this past month, so that's kinda why I vanished... Sorry about that...

"If we're to go to the taverns, we may want to go as a group then. If they are more aggressive as you say, then safety in numbers may be a good idea to follow."

Karson rests his chin in his hand, thinking. "Where would we begin to start looking for him? It's not like we know a lot about him to begin with, the man does seem to be leaving out some important information."

"So is our new question not what are they doing, but what don't we know that should be knowing?"

"I wouldn't put it past me to believe any one of those. Paladins would be a far stretch in my opinion. Would you mind delving more into the Order of Tears however? I can't say I'm familiar with this group..."

Karson looks back at Ethan. "On my way back, I saw others investigating the crime scenes by the docks. I'd figure that means we're not alone in this, which means we may not have the edge at all in this entire deal."

Karson takes a seat at the table. "Nothing of real pressing importance. There's no real information in the outer markets and docks I found. One thing for though is that we're definitely not the only ones looking into these crimes."

After his searching towards the end of the day, Karson heads back to the safe house in wait for the rest of everyone to return.

After checking with the outer market camps, Karson heads to the docks to see what he can find out down there.

Nevermind the check, I've no clue what to label it under, so I'll just take a 10 on what it would be.

I hope everyone has a very joyous respective holiday of the next few days! And if you don't celebrate for religious reasons, then at the very least enjoy the time with family, friends, and hearty meals!

Would you like for me to make a Streetwise check while checking into the docks?

Well the anti inflammatory they gave me have helped out a lot. I'm still hurting like hell but I'm functional, so I'm more lead to believe that's what happened. Still trying to get a follow up without insurance though is the part that's taking so long. I'll post later today though Jen so that I don't end up as ahold back for anyone else.

Karson heads out to the outer markets around town to start attempting to put together any information he can find on any recent dealings or possible abnormal attacks on the traveling merchant or gypsy community around the area.

Well good luck! I may be out the next few days. In the ER right now and may be drugged up the next few days.

"I can hit the outer markets and see what I can find out about incoming and outgoing business. It's possible that outside help could've been brought in or they have attacked other caravans."

Yea, it seems pretty spread out as of now and the parts of conversation there were was just so rapid fire for me to really post like I would've wanted to. I'm gonna guess the lag is due more to finals for most of you guys.

I think Karson is by himself in this unless otherwise asked.

Karson headed back to his family's camp for the night to rest and gather up the rest of his supplies so that he could operate himself out of the safehouse or anywhere else that may have to work from, then returned early in the morning.

"Well we've got names right? Let's go ask around and find out who these people were and see if we can't find a connection between them and see if we can't uncover a more criminal base to this."

Karson looks back at Jerex with a slightly puzzled look on his face. "I forgot, you're still new to a lot of things around here. When you think about it, cults and gangs are the essentially the same. They're both groups that have a common ideal. However, cults are typically of a religious or extremist ideal, where as gangs are more towards criminalistics ideals that gain them money, power, and position over society in some way."

"Exactly. So do what do we know about any cults or gangs even in the area? Any of them that would be able to pull a stunt like this successfully?"

Karson scratches at his chin for a moment. "I don't think that these murders are religiously based. Brie has a good point after all, why weren't any servants of Calistra murdered in the month of Gozren? And Desna isn't primarily a family deity. Religion has nothing to do with this. And I don't believe that there is one person doing this, so I don't think a serial killer is to blame. We're looking at 14 people within a span of 8 months. Glancing at that, it's easy to assume a single killer, but 3 of those incidents involved multiple people. The murders in Desnan could've been separate murders sure, unless the victims were related in some fashion. However, unless the killer was fast enough, there's no way they'd be able to take out 3 people in one night across 3 different ships and an entire family on another night, with time to prop them at the table. I don't believe we're looking a single suspect, we have to be looking at a group here. The problem is trying to find something that actually connects all of our victims together. Do we know who these victims are individually? If we can get a glimpse as to who they were, that may make this easier to solve."

Sorry for the delay guys. Thanksgiving was kind of a given, and yesterday was my anniversary, of which she said yes. So I've been spending quality time with my fiancé last night and today lol.

The only MMO I really play is Neverwinter since it went live. It's really the only one that I feel like I don't have to spend hours upon hours grinding, but at the same time gives me a good pace. That and my girlfriend plays it with me lol.

Karson approaches as Jerex and Ethan enter the safe house. He gives a nod to the woman as he walks in as well, stating that he too is working for Mr. Samuel.

Yea, not really gypsy, more like traveling merchants. They travel like gypsies, moving with other merchant caravans, but they're not really gypsies. And I kinda figured that it would be mundane equipment as well, no big deal.

Karson heads back to his family's camp to gather some supplies and to talk things over with them so that they understand the situation.

He'll return to the group at the safe house unless anyone decides to meet at the merchants camp where his family is at. I'll leave it to Jen on what supplies his family does sell, as I left it pretty open in his background.

Sorry about this weekend guys. The new Xbox came out and my place was a busy one for the weekend.

Have you ever read Trainspotting? The original work was nothing but accent. I had a college level reading skill when I attempted to read that book. I almost finished it, but the school year ended, and everyone else looked at it and went "You're a braver man than me... How the hell are you struggling in this class when you can read that?" Oh if only I could figure out why I struggle English classes because of punctuation... Anyways, I say bring on the accent lol.

"How much are other houses offering for this killer? If the rewards are high enough, that means we're going to have to start immediately if you this done as soon as possible. The longer we stall, the more people will die and the more dangerous it could become for us as we surely won't be the only group trying to earn a fair sized reward offered. The more information you can give us will certainly help us get started that much sooner."

Putting his hand to his chin, he thinks for a moment. "I have to ask. If we're tracking down a murder suspect, how are we to know that we won't be assumed as your hired help? If those assassins were after you, what guarantees our safety?"

Karson looks off to the distance, noticing the fire and thinks for a second wondering if his family knows what's going on as the smoke rises. Following everyone in, he stays quiet, waiting for what it is that Samuel wants before he gives his thoughts, as this seems to be a larger group than he normally travels with in the first place.

After getting clear of the falling debris, Karson starts to attend to people in order to make sure that they are okay. Looking around, he asks "Okay, so does anybody know who or why a fire was set? And why just the front door? If it was a riot, why wouldn't they just throw something into the tavern?"

Yea, I was under him and saw that the roof started coming down, so I figured I'd roll something just to make sure, just in case. Needless to say nothing hit me anyways I believe with a roll like that, but I figured I'd make sure anyways.

Umm... Question Jerex... How did I fall through the hole, when it was only Eran that went up, and how exactly are we both all the sudden in the place that the back doors couldn't get to? Please explain, especially when I made no attempt to get to the top of the roof...

I know Eran, I'm waiting to see what happens, but I had to point out what I saw happening, and just wanted to make sure that it was brought up as a "Hey, just so this doesn't keep happening" that ends up killing it for some of us.

I'm not meaning to be hostile here. I try my best to be concise, and it just comes off like I'm an ass at times lol. I'm just trying to make a point clear now, so that it doesn't become a problem later. As of those numbers earlier, with as many posts as I made (which were on the low end), I would've just said screw it, I wanna be a part of this too. Only reason I didn't is cause I have enough common sense to know that we're just starting so there's plenty of time for us to get settled in. However, just starting out or not, one person in those first 60 posts not only posted more than Jen, but more than 4 people had posted in total at that point. It's that point there where anyone looking in on this without common sense sees either "Somebody is trying to force the posting" or "Wow, why did I even want to play this, when it's obviously just one guy doing all the posting..." And in the end, the rest of the people just start to not care and the game goes south period. It's the same thing that happens on other RP forums. People get in their little clicks, and then the entire site is all about them, and anyone new just gets forgotten and not even cared about. And that's what I don't want for this game. I wanna be able to not enjoy it myself, but for all of us as a group to enjoy it as well. And if it's only just one person doing all the posting (yes, talk is free actions, but if someone misses and entire conversation, well then they get screwed on any questions they want to ask that actually could've helped out on what ever they were trying to accomplish), well then what's the point for the rest of us? Does any of this not make sense or does it seem to me that this is a free for all, you're screwed if you can't post more than once a day kind of group?

That's the amount of posts per person out of 60 posts as of now. And no, Jen hasn't posted 16 times. And this is only what... Not even a full two days? I get what you're saying Tenro, but if numbers were to be allowed to stay like this, I'd be leaving this game in about 3 days. It's nice to have an active game and thread, there's nothing wrong with that. But when one person, who isn't even the GM, posts not just more than the rest of the group, but almost 30% of all the posts, I'm sorry but that's just not an active group, that to me is someone trying to force everyone else to be post more than they can, and I post on my time. Not because one person has posted 20 something times between my opportunities to post, forcing me to catch up.

Chaotic can be fun, except when someone posts, goes on through their day, then comes back to see a full new page occur. That's what I'm talking about. I have early morning class for 6 hours, get home, and have between 3-4 hours to get ready for work, spend time with my fiancé, clean around the house, and every other life duty, and then use extra time I get to run my PbP game, and now post here. Then after I get off work, I have more time to post. But that depends on when I get off work to begin with. If I only get the chance to post once, maybe twice in a day, then coming back the next to find a full page plus makes me go "what the hell happened?" So instead of posting, I now have to spend the time I could've used posting to sort through everything and figure out what exactly is going on, and if it ends up taking me too long to try and sort out, well then I don't get to post because I gotta get other things done. So the next time I get to post, I then have to reread the mass confusion so I don't get lost, on top of everything else that was posted and added to the chaos. Which is exactly why I'm addressing this now before it gets to bad.

Karson moves away from the window and goes towards the roof as well. "I can't really get a clear picture from there. I don't see any flames out of it, but it's not exactly easy to see through it. The roof may be a better idea." He looks up at Eran, attempting to put a hole in the roof. "Are you having any luck up there with getting a way out?"
