Karianamu addresses the spiders in their language.

"Cousins and friends. I am a visitor to your home. I promise we will not stay longer than we need to. My soft and meaty friends here are very large and clumsy and may damage your webs and ruin days of hard work through their ignorance and gracelessness. I would like to help to make sure that doesn't happen."

"Can you tell me what passages there are leading from this room that my large and ponderous friends can squeeze through? Are there any dangers to their kind here like other monstrosities to rival their own repulsive selves? Surely it is better to warn us so that I can stop them from wandering into your webs as they scour this place for food and treasures?"

Karianamu looks around for the usual Cleric, and seeing there is no one coming to the rescue, tries again. He also cast Guidance on Faldur in the hopes they can banish this haunt.

Karianamu changes back to his human form and strides forward to help Faldur by treating his wounds.

Karianamu casts Forbidding Ward on Falder, to protect him from the big enemy.

He then casts Guidance to give a bonus to Aurika, hoping her spells will strike true.

Karianamu attempts to identify the smaller creatures (Recall Knowledge). He will share anything he knows with the group.

He then moves closer and casts guidance on Doven.

Perfect timing for Grandmother Spider to come out.

He grins a bright grin and approaches.

"Nana smiles like no one else on earth, like a bright web across the heavens."

"I suggest we search this area and see if we can learn anything about this device."

His clothes shift and his voice gets deeper.

"Where do our enemies hide? Show yourselves, cowards, and face a warrior who has travelled far to defeat you! I grow impatient with this exploration and skulking in shadows!"

Karianamu swings his staff at the skulk.

He casts Shield and then reaches out to touch the skulk, forcing him to see the spider ancestors scuttling across his flesh and whispering to him.

The ancestors seek to fight for control over Karianamu as well.

His body rises and settles into a warrior's pose.

"Chaga has come. You will not like him, cowardly skulk."

Karianamu joins the crowd and takes a two handed swing at the prone skulk.

Karianamu moves up and casts Forbidding ward on Faldur and the remaining enemy.

Karianamu takes out a scroll of magic weapon, and casts it on Doven's flail (or a different weapon if he prefers).

"Perhaps I would be better to follow than lead this time, friend."

"We are here to serve. I have no questions."

"My people are not known for seafaring or seeking the horizon but I have proven to be the exception, at first by necessity and now by choice. I earned the name Long-Strides-Over-Water through my travels and have only respect for those who spend their lives roaming this world by land or by sea. It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Karianamu."

"It is only because I have found you all so trustworthy and welcoming that I was comfortable revealing my true form. Please keep this between us."

Karianamu shifts back into his human persona.

"I agree with seeing Calisro next. Perhaps next time I will spend less time in the front lines."

"Keep this up and you will meet my ancestor Chaga. He is much less forgiving and does not like goblins."

Karianamu casts Shield, readying to block the first attack that hits him.

His legs and arms then stretch horrifically as he transforms into a dark black spider with enormously long legs (Change Shape).

He scuttles up the stairs toward the goblin archers, menacing them from in close.

Reflex:: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Karianamu moves up the stairs and speaks to the red dash goblin by the fire.

"I am friend to everyone but Nana is not. Do not make her come to deal with you!"

As he casts Fear, his clothes ripple as if several large insects are skittering across his skin.

"There are many dangers in the swamp, no different from the jungles of my homeland. I was often told in my childhood that quicksand would be the death of me, and yet I have not encountered it in my travels."

"I am Karianamu, and I am known among my people for the lightness with which I set foot on the land. You will find me to be a friend, as I have been to Iruxi in my homeland, who taught me your inspiring language."

Karianamu seems equally impressed and fascinated by the strange creatures before him, especially the mechanical man, the giant rodent and the tiny woman who is like a child but not a child. The world holds many wonders indeed.

"This will indeed be my first mission, though I have travelled far and seen many things, as my name would indicate. Should we be prepared for any particular dangers in our travels to the village?"

As he speaks, it almost appears as if several things the size of a fist are moving around under his armour. He seems unconcerned.

He then casts Guidance on Baxter, hoping the canine can help save Hiro.

Karianamu can't for the life of him remember what beats rock. He smiles as he remembers "Rock always wins. Good old rock."

He takes out his sling and loads it with a stone, and lets loose a shot!

Why don't you bring the kids along once the stew is made and join the celebrations? I think Kupyn might even be tempted to name you the guest of honour!"

"I agree, and my belly is grumbling already."

"Often where diplomacy fails, deception may yet succeed, or so Nana teaches us."

"I have had the good fortune to travel with these new friends all over this land, but I have yet to see a rock transform into stew."

Karianamu seems to change his demeanour and a sly smile spreads across his face.

"This is a windmill, as you would call it. Spun by the wind and used to grind grain for bread. I have seen these wonders in my travels."

"Indeed I am from much further south than that! And I have been to many places despite the warnings of my ancestors. One ancestor, above all, says that a well constructed riddle is like the finest spider's web. Capable of stopping you in your tracks unless you keep your wits about you. Grandmother Spider, or Nana as I call her, knows of the great mischief one can do with a well told riddle, but also says that cunning should be rewarded above all else. Is that not right, Nana?"

As Karianamu speaks, something seems to skitter under his clothing.

Karianamu strides toward the Sphinx, doing his best to look confident and untroubled.

"Ah thank Nana that you are here! We wished for help and a mighty sphinx has appeared to aid us! Did you find the puzzle box? It is very important we retrieve it."

As he emerges out of the fog his voice is no longer coming from the man you have travelled with, but from a giant spider the height of a man, with enormous long and spindly legs.

He is sure to take a wide path to remain concealed by the fog from the caravan guards and passengers.

His freakishly long legs bound across the ground as he positions himself to deliver a terrible bite to the zombie with his enormous fangs.
