Traits
--------------------
Persecuted Expatriate (Race): You were born in a nation that persecuted you for your heritage. Although you were under terrible duress, you escaped either with the aid of family or by your own cunning.
Requirement(s): Tiefling
You gain a +1 bonus on one skill depending on your fiendish heritage: asura (Knowledge [local]), daemon (Sleight of Hand), demodand (Intimidate), demon (Perception), devil (Sense Motive), div (Diplomacy), kyton (Escape Artist), oni (Disguise), qlippoth (Survival), or rakshasa (Sense Motive). That skill is always a class skill for you.
Westcrown Firebrand (Campaign): There’s something very wrong with the world. Spouses were not meant to huddle at their windows hoping and fearing day after day that their loved ones returned from work safely. Parents were not meant to hush their children when questioned about what happened to their neighbors. Citizens were not meant to avert their eyes and hurry by as guardsmen beat old friends in the street. The people of Westcrown have suffered long enough! It’s time for a change. But how? You’ve heard rumors of bands of free-thinking individuals meeting after the citywide curfew. Perhaps they might share your ideals? You are quick to react to opportunity, both physically and mentally, and know that it is with sudden and swift action that many conflicts are best resolved. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Initiative checks, and if you act in a surprise round, you gain a +1 trait bonus on all attack rolls.

Special Abilities
--------------------
Tiefling (Pitborn)
Ability Score Racial Traits: Pitborn gain +2 Strength, +2 Charisma, and –2 Intelligence.
Type: Tieflings are outsiders with the native subtype.
Size: Tieflings are Medium creatures and thus receive no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Speed: Tieflings have a base speed of 30 feet.
Languages: Tieflings begin play speaking Common and either Abyssal or Infernal. Tieflings with high intelligence scores can choose from the following: Abyssal, Draconic, Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, Infernal, and Orc. See the Linguistics skill page for more information about these languages.
Fiendish Resistance: Tieflings have cold resistance 5, electricity resistance 5, and fire resistance 5.
Skilled: Pitborn gain a +2 racial bonus on Disable Device and Perception checks.
Spell-like ability: Pitborn can use shatter once per day as a spell-like ability. The caster level for this ability equals the tiefling's class level.
Darkvision: Tieflings can see perfectly in the dark for up to 60 feet.
Prehensile Tail: Many tieflings have tails, but some have long, flexible tails that can be used to carry items. While they cannot wield weapons with their tails, they can use them to retrieve small, stowed objects carried on their persons as a swift action. This racial trait replaces fiendish sorcery.
Paladin (gray paladin) 1
Code of Conduct: A gray paladin must be of lawful good, lawful neutral, or neutral good alignment and loses all class features except proficiencies if she ever willingly commits an evil act (for example, casting a spell with the evil descriptor). She should strive to act with honor and uphold the tenets of her faith, but failing to do so is not a violation of her code, and other than evil actions, she can do whatever else she feels is necessary to uphold the causes of law and good.
This ability replaces the paladin's code of conduct and associated abilities and alters the section on ex-paladins.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Paladins are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, with all types of armor (heavy, medium, and light), and with shields (except tower shields).
Class Skills: A gray paladin adds Bluff, Disguise, and Intimidate to her list of class skills.
This alters the paladin's class skills.
Detect Evil (Sp): At will, a paladin can use detect evil, as the spell. A paladin can, as a move action, concentrate on a single item or individual within 60 feet and determine if it is evil, learning the strength of its aura as if having studied it for 3 rounds. While focusing on one individual or object, the paladin does not detect evil in any other object or individual within range.
Weakened Grace: A gray paladin's loosened code weakens her connection to the power that grants her paladin abilities. She gains her first use of smite evil at 2nd level, instead of 1st, though she still gains further uses of smite evil as normal. She never gains the aura of good or divine grace class features. Her aura of courage does not make her immune to fear, her aura of resolve does not make her immune to charms, and her aura of righteousness does not make her immune to compulsions.
This ability alters smite evil, aura of courage, aura of resolve, and aura of righteousness, and it replaces aura of good and divine grace.

Backstory
--------------------
Description: Kalindrah is an obvious tiefling, with reddish skin, red hair, and pure white eyes (albeit with the normal black pupils). She is lean-limbed and limber, wiry and slim. Her boisterous personality combines with her striking appearance to give her a commanding presence. She has red fingernails (matching her hair) and frequently boasts a lopsided grin.
Kalindrah favors baggy clothes to hide her demonic figure. When unarmored she favors mid-length skirts (she is happy with her well-turned calves) and a baggy, sack-like coat that conceals her upper body. A tail with a traditional demonic spade-shape on the end swishes behind her, sometimes waving sinuously with undirected movements, and often punctuates her mood when she is agitated.
Hair: Red
Eyes: White
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 145 lbs.
Age: 23
Background: Kalindrah is originally from Egorian, the capital of Cheliax, but her obvious fiendish heritage led to significant persecution during her childhood, both of herself and her family. To escape the whispers and brutality of her neighbors, her family moved to Westcrown while she was still a young girl.
In Westcrown Kalindrah learned the baker's trade, but she resented the mistreatment that she suffered as a tiefling, even though she mostly hid in the backrooms of the bakery, out of sight of customers. She became enamored of imagining escaping to be a free spirit away from the tormenters of Cheliax.
As a teenager she was exposed to many different faiths. While Cheliax ostensibly has only one state religion, Kalindrah's rebellious streak led her to seek out different stories and different kinds of believers. She learned about Shelyn and Sarenrae, Arshea and Iomedae, but when she learned about the Empyreal Lord Ragathiel, she saw a reflection of her own struggles: misjudged for her fiendish heritage, but struggling to be a good person in a cruel and unjust world. She joined a small cult of Ragathiel in secret.
As a young adult, Kalindrah learned to defend herself and her associates from the violence of the church of Asmodeus, which sought out and crushed opposition groups. She tried to hold herself to the high standards of Ragathiel, but balanced by the pragmatism of having to hide from detection, and sometimes the requirement to use violence in self-defense. Eventually she took holy orders and swore to defend the less fortunate and to fight against the depredations of fiends, but a loose, less-rigorous set of oaths designed to allow her the ability to move undetected in lands dominated by the devils of Cheliax.
Personality Traits: Kalindrah is outgoing and ebullient. She loves socializing, enjoys jokes, and even likes small talk; she just likes being around people. She can sometimes be overwhelming and must be reminded to bring her enthusiasm down a notch. She makes friends easily but when she decides that someone is an enemy, she is dogged in her determination and rarely changes her mind.
Kalindrah likes dogs, cats, birds, and other animals with whom you can form friendships and attachments. She has a strong dislike of biting, stinging insects. She handles children reasonably well, though her desire for social interaction and her enjoyment of novelty make it challenging for her to deal with infants over extended periods of time.
Kalindrah enjoys tasteful banquets, theater, and expressive art; she is less enthusiastic about bloodsports and vulgar expressions of violence for entertainment. Her favorite time of day is twilight, and she enjoys taking in the natural beauty of a lush setting just after sunset, when the air is cool. She enjoys swimming and travel, though most often with other people.
In her spare time she enjoys reading voraciously, and reads all kinds of books, both fiction and non-fiction.
Kalindrah is body-conscious, keenly aware that she is physically quite different from many of the humanoids around her.
As a follower of Ragathiel, Kalindrah resonates strongly with the rejection of fiendish heritage for a more elevated state.
