Kali pulls the notes from her pack, finds the letter given to her that led them to the farmhouse. She looks to Mr. Krunne, then turns to talk to Sherrif Luin and Erika, handing the Sherrif the letter. I am a historian by trade. While recording the happenings of the past few days, I made a few notes that may shed some light on this situation. He saw a tall person, possibly taller than him, kill the victim and caught the murder standing over the body just outside his store. Orug went out to confront person and got slammed down. The Pathfinders were arrested in their beds on their second night in town. Remind me again, as I don't have it in my notes, how long a time happened between the first and second murders? Later, two children saw the second body being mutilated. They were seen and pursued by the perpetrators. The pursuers had weapons drawn on the children. Several townsfolk noted that a tall, thin Chelaxian man with short trimmed hair missing a patch and a soul patch on his chin was asking questions around the town. Per your account of the situation, Sherrif Luin, the most incriminating' piece of evidence was the anonymous letter Erika received from a concerned but frightened citizen identifying the Pathfinders as the murderers. I would ask to see the letter, and if it matches the handwriting on the other letters.

Kali looks at the rope, shakes her head, then looks to Celeste. She whispers "I'll take the bait, back me up from above,", then moves around to the open front door. "In for a penny," she mutters under her breath, then casts and cautiously pushing the door open enough to step inside,scanning the area for anyone or anything.
Kali leaves with the others, following them almost blindly as she seems fixated on the note. Rubbing the paper between her fingers and looking at it closely to see what plant matter might be contained within.
As they approach the farmhouse, she pulls a wand from her belt and murmers a word, enveloping herself in a faint blue glow. . She then looks to her companions not wearing armor and raises a brow in inquiry.
Using the chaos around Rafael as a distraction, Kali slips close to the bodies.. Observing the bodies, she seems to be running through a list in her head-
Is there any signs of life? If not, Are the bodies fresh? Is there blood on the dagger? Is there blood under the corpses? If not, Are there bloodstains/drops showing a trail from where the bodies were moved? Other evidence of trauma?
Kali packs her writing implements away, then stands and bows to the Pathfinders. Thank you for answering my questions. I only have one more. Why wouldn't you answer any of the questions posed by Sheriff Luin? Once she receives her answer, she will bow to the Sheriff, thank him for his time, then make her way with Rafael back to the inn.
Kali removes the paper and pen, then looks around for a writing surface. Finding none, she kneels on the floor and smooths the paper in front of her, then begins to write the Pathfinders names, descriptions, and what they already said. Remember, we all have our points of view. History is only as accurate as the information presented to the historian. I humbly request your cooperation in my attempt to record this occurrence for posterity. The more information you share, the more accurate my account. Kali packs her items back into her pouch, then stands and smooths her tunic. Chronicle? I guess you could phrase it that way. But I am not recording it for any organization. Rather, it is my quest to understand some aspect of each life I live, to compile my memories and learn from my experiences. Otherwise Pharasma will not welcome me to be judged and I will continue my existence here. She nods at Rafael, then moves towards the door. Sheriff Luin, do you have time to escort us now, or would you prefer us arrange a time to come back?
She smiles and lifts the pot, serving the Sheriff first and then herself. Putting the pot down, she takes a biscuit and muffin and sits back from the desk to partake of the refreshments. This is delicious, Sheriff Luin. And what beautiful china. It reminds me of home. She will engage the Sheriff in small talk while enjoying the tea, slowing the conversation down and making it much more a social occasion. If the Sheriff isn't looking hurried, she will have a bit more tea and a second biscuit, looking to refresh Luin's cup before her own. When the tea is done and the tray stacked with the empty crockery, she will smile again at Sherrif I appreciate the offer regarding talking to the accused, but I am a bit shaky on what happened that led to their accusation and imminent demise. If you would give me a rough outline, so I know where to start and how to format the rest of my text, I would appreciate it. I don't want to compromise an investigation, but given that they are condemned to death, it seems my historical account of the facts shouldn't jeopardize the case.

Touches Rafel's arm gently as she steps out from behind him. I am Sung Ka Ri, historian, and I would like to interview Sherrif Luin. My current project focuses on the the spread of the corruption from the Worldwound. From what I understand, the good sheriff caught some tainted people who murdered several townsfolk. But hearing the tale from others isn't nearly as accurate as talking to those involved directly. She smiles serenely at the guards.
Kali places her palms together at her breastbone and bows low towards Ekira. "Greetings, Agent Corum. My name is Sung Ka Ri and I am a historian here to document the happenings in your town. I traveled here with Lady Kirin and her guards, as the roads can be dangerous for solo travelers. She nods towards Kirin and steps to the side to clear a path between Ekira and Kirin.
Kali takes her leave of the farmhands"Good night! It is late and I traveled far to join your gathering. Prosperity to you all! Kali leaves the Gardens and heads towards the inn, keeping an eye out for the other members of the party. If they have departed the inn, she settles in the common room to wait for their return.
Kali tucks the Venture-Captain's note and Kirin's wayfinder in the pouch, then closes it securely. "My magics won't stretch between the groups at this distance. I can keep one group connected at best." She looks between the group of Celeste & Rafael and the group comprised of Kirin, Idris, and Ehy'lynd. "Why don't we make the split even, then. I will go with them." She gestures toward Celeste.
"Kirin, would you like me to put it in my pouch where it cannot be found, even if we are searched? For that matter, does anyone else have small items they want me to store?" She looks at the group, her head cocked slightly sideways, a pondering look on her face. I have a way to keep in touch with each other, via my message spell. I can also detect magic, clean items, light dark hallways, chill my opponents, make people more friendly, and make items or ground slippery. I am also fluent in many languages, have some skill at talking to people, and utilize magical items. She pats the wands at her hip "These will allow me to heal you if you are hurt and provide armor to those that don't wear any."
Kali leaves briefly, returning with her pack of items. In preparation for travel, she exchanged her flowing robes for baggy trousers,a tunic jacket held closed with corded frogs, and a wide belt bearing two pouches. A mace hangs off her belt at her right hand and a crossbow is slung over one shoulder. Two wands are tucked in her belt. Someone looking at her equipment can see cords attaching the wands to the belt. She speaks, her tones moderate, articulating her words "I am ready to proceed. I will wait here for the rest of you to gather your gear." She places her items neatly in a pile in the corner, then pulls a book from her pack and settles crosslegged on the floor next to her gear, nose to the pages.

Dressed in a black and white gown, cut in Tien-Hwan fashion, she is covered from neck to ankle. Her hands slip inside her bellowing sleeves as she crosses her arms in front of herself and bows low from the waist to the assembled Pathfinders. "I apologize for my tardiness. I was at my studies and lost track of the time." Her eyes scan the room, taking in the assembled crowd. Her words are Common, but in the thick accents of Tian Xia"I am Sung Ka Ri, but I prefer if you call me Kali. My most present incarnation led me to follow the path of the arcanist, channeling my energies into arcane magics. I am protege to Venture-Captain Sigvard Tornkvist in the Sothis Lodge, but have taken a break in my studies to answer Venture-Captain Jorsal's call for assistance. It appears he summoned people from diverse backgrounds. It will be a pleasure to work alongside this esteemed assemblege." She takes a deep breath and releases it slowly.
