We have fun with it. They can be hiding in someone’s pocket, cowering in the corner, or even doing unspeakable sexual actions with the party’s horses.

I like strength-based Hexcrafter with Hex Strike, so that between weapon strikes you can punch with Evil Eye. Throw in Rime Frostbite and you can utterly ruin a target with a single unarmed strike. At level 7 you can turn into a gargoyle with Monstrous Physique and gain more strength, more AC, flight, and bonus natural attacks that also trigger Frostbite.

Somehow a hex-Magus that fights in the form of a sword-wielding gargoyle that resembles their own features just seems like a perfect theme.

Can you post your build please?

Coming off of a 3+ year KM campaign, I played a pure Druid and loved it. The outdoors nature of KM is very forgiving when I comes to running around as huge elementals or animals. I also took a lot of magic item creation feats because time is never an issue.

But you already have two rangers so you might have that outdoor thing covered.

Also, if you ever wanted to play a mounted character, this is the campaign to do so.

But one thing to consider - try to avoid dumping charisma. A well run KM campaign will have enough npc interaction to keep the whole party busy and not just the "face".

Downloaded it and tested it during a very boring conference call at work. :)

So far everything looks great. I entered my hitpoints just fine and i like how you calculate all the bonuses based on the raw number. Also, the damage bonuses are showing correctly when I click on the attack button (i.e. bite). Finally the big cat data is correct.

I created about 7-8 animals and couldn't find any problems at all.

Great job!

I only have two suggestions for the next version:

1) Add a "temp" category for damage as you have for attack and AC. That way if I always use something like power attack and i can have it pre-set separate from any magic bonuses. I suspect this would be an easy change on your part.

2) Take advantage of the ipad's extra space. I suspect you could consolidate all the tab views into one single page with bigger screen. However this sounds like a bigger change than #1.

Definitely worth the $2 to anyone playing a class with an animal companion (druid, ranger, oracle, etc). I'll update my review on iTunes accordingly.

No problem. I love an author who is willing to make adjustments so quickly. If i find anything else i'll bring it up.

I found a bug last night.

If you choose a big cat, and raise your druid to 4th level, it gives a blank "choose advancement" box. If you then select normal, it then gives the large cat the 7th level advancement stats (even though you are only 4th and there shouldn't be any advancement at this level). It's consistently reproduceable.

Left a 5 star feedback in expectation of these changes.

BTW, now that I have the attention of some iphone pathfinder devs - what I'd love to see next would be an app that tracks a druid's stats in animal form. You enter your attributes (which are saved, of course), you various magic/misc bonuses, you select a wildshape version and an animal and it does the rest.

For example, i input that i'm a 6th level druid, using beast shape II and a dire tiger with a +2 str belt and it give me all my combat stats.

I announce that tonight i will work on it, and tomorrow i will propose the update to apple.

I hope to have you happy. ^^ Thanks for your indications.

Cool

By "Even more wrong" I was referring to hit points. Please default to the average (5 for a d8 animal) and it would be great. If you add the total damage bonus to the bite/claw damage popup that would make it perfect.

Can you make it where i can input my starting hit points please? My DM isnt going to allow my app to determine my starting animals hit points.

Not that your handsome and intelligent GM won't allow it. I ... I mean HE is playing with straight values for hit points... no rolls.

And, per a post by James Jacobs (linked here), Animal Companions do not automatically get max hp for level 1. They roll 'em.

That makes the app even more wrong. Please fix this hit point problem and i'll give you an excellent rating in itunes.

You were lucky. ^^ only first d8 is MAX. the second one is rolled. You just got another 8. cool isn't it?

I came across your iphone app and bought it. It has some potential, but i have the following suggestions/issues:

Note that i own an iphone 3GS

- I made a bear and noticed that it had max hitpoints at first level. Is that correct? I thought only player characters got that.

- The first time I made an animal, the app crashed when I went to save it. After that it's been stable.

- Would it be possible to fit the claw and bite damage somewhere on the main combat screen instead of having to click on the buttons to see it? Also, those buttons don't show the STR and other damage bonuses. For example, on my bear is shows bite as "1d4" when it should be "1d4 +2". You actually only see the bonuses when you click on roll. :(

- on the main page, can you put both the animal name and type? For example: "Teddy, Bear" instead of just "Teddy". That way if you are tracking multiple animals it's easier.

Can the numbers character spreadsheet export into other mediums? For example, I will need to convert it to a pdf and upload to the YHOO group my GM owns.

Can you post what you have so far?

Silly question, but should the stat block automatically include all the information that I entered into the main pages? Because it's not for me and I'm unsure if I'm doing something wrong or are my expectations incorrect.

I am using version 9.

I have better luck predicting the weather than I have predicting Amazon's ship dates. It's just not something we have any insight into.

I just got a mail from Amazon saying that are pushing back the delivery of the APG. To quote:

"We're writing about the order you placed on June 08 2010. Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below has changed, and we need to provide you with a new delivery estimate based on the new release date:

Jason Bulmahn "Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Advanced Player's Guide (Pathfinder Chronicles)"
Estimated arrival date: August 27 2010 - August 31 2010

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this delay."

Can you think of a reason that they did this? Was it something that PAIZO told them?

We're shipping subscription copies and preorders next week, which is also when subscribers will get the PDF. Non-subscribers will be able to purchase the PDF starting on August 5.

When would you expect Amazon to have it in stock for them to ship out? I've pre-ordered already with them but I'm trying to decide if I should cancel that and instead order it directly from paizo.

I can confirm that I'm using Goodreader too on my iPad and have no problems reading the core Pathfinder PDF.

Hello there. We're just starting up a Kingmaker campaign and I'm amazed of what you've been able to accomplish in Excel. Wow.

Anyway, here's my questions:

1) I am creating a first level Summoner. Unfortunately on both my P-Abilities & Feat tabs and L-Abilities & Feat tabs, the Class Abilities says "#NAME?"

2) For my Eidolon, when I select Improved Bite Damage, it changes the die for my CLAWS from d4 to d6. Instead it should change the BITE damage from d6 to d8.

Any idea what can I do to fix these issues?

I forgot to mention that I'm using version 0_8_9

If erian_7 hasn't tracked it down yet, here's a fix (I think it's in fact *the* fix) for 1):

If you are using Windows Excel, change the formula in 'Class Abilities'!D449 by putting double quotes around the upper-case I in the next-to-last IF() function:
i.e. change the substring
IF(Lvl_Sum>2,"II",I)
to
IF(Lvl_Sum>2,"II","I")

I don't know about Open Office or Mac, but I expect the fix is very similar.

That was perfect. Any idea about #2?
