ok , it was tried not as successfully as expected. the pdf are really "heavy".
Odd, what problems are you seeing? I have these PDF's on an iPad with Good Reader and I can flip pages with about a 1/2 second delay, much less if I use the crop feature so that I only display the centre of the page where the text is.
What size is your core rulebook PDF (shown on the right under the filename in Good Reader) and what size iPad do you have (also, WIFI or 3G), and what amount of that is still free?

I asked for an artless PDF in this thread.
Unfortunately on my Eee PC thePDF didn't work well - I eventually gave up and ordered a copy of the book.
Linked it for you.

On the first try with the player guide and good reader we received an error message saying something like "this type of file is not recognized by good reader". then we upgraded good reader and now the file is recognized but it's very slow. A low quality version (or a screen version ala new dragon magazine) would be appreciate I think.

By 'Player Guide' do you mean the Core Rulebook?
What is the filesize of the PDF - I think that there have been a number of updates since the original release, one of which reduced the filesize considerably. If you post your filesize I can compare against my recent copy.
Another option is just to re-download it from your account.
If you happened to note which version of Good Reader you were using before you updated, I can check to see if this is a known problem which has been fixed. The error message that you saw shouldn't have happened.

Ok. I'm using the 3rd printing, which is only 77 MB. Grab that from "My Downloads" and try it. I can bring up the front cover with a 2s delay (good for such a large image) and then flipping between pages is less than 1s.

It might be worth loading up the one page per chapter version. Although it's more space overall, each file is smaller, so should load better in a reader.

Removed a post. It's probably best when a thread is over 8 years old to start a new one rather than necromance the existing one. Additionally, while you may not care for specific elements of a product, they are things that folks have spent skill, time and resources on and as those folks are frequently reading and interacting online, its not appropriate to call it garbage. You are welcome to repost your feedback or any questions you have about our PDFs as a new thread with less aggression towards our visual content creators.
