Alright so I am submitting this character. I did look at classes but didn't pay attention much beyond that before making the character. I saw that the openings was for an Arcane caster as well as one other character. Technically the Bloodrager can fill both but would be better set as a back up arcane with heavy melee focus. Also of note, I will not use the Bison as a fighting creature in combat. They just make Great pack animals and can be combat trained really cheap >.<

So, there may feel like some overlap. I feel that because of the nature (especially of the early stages of Kingmaker) that most characters need to be comfortable in the wilds. So, he does have survival and handle animal. However, I'll likely not put more in HA. It just helped justify some of the background and his ability to handle his mount as well as he can. That said, from here out it'll be in Profession Cartography (or Mapmaking).

Having High Con, High Charisma, High Str, and reasonable Wisdom, he should be able to fit comfortably into a lot of the varying roles. (I however, unless things take a drastic odd turn do not see him as King.)

Should he become the arcane character, I'll adjust from here on out to make sure I catch up on spellcraft though I don't see myself stacking Int so he won't be amazing at it but should still be able to identify and such. His Know Arcana isn't terrible for a non int character and his love of nature and his desire to protect it despite his middle years should help him have some common ground with his fellow adventurers. Being a melee character will help keep the ranged characters doing their thing as well as help the melee characters by having someone to flank with.

Backstory:

Was he lost, was he forgotten, was he simply cast aside. Jynn does not have the answer to this question. From as far back as he could remember he had grown in the woods surrounded by beasts and nature. Sometime in his past, a wolf who had lost her pups found him crying in the woods as a defenseless babe. Pity, longing, Grief drove her maternal instincts and Jynn was raised till the day she died.

However, that death was not a peaceful one leaving him twice orphaned and barely more than a beast himself. It was at the hands of bandits in what he later learned was in the northeastern lands of Mivon. It was there he learned the Common tongue as well as Elven amongst the bandits and his trade. With his past, he considered himself to be cursed.

But there were good things in his life, for some reason whenever his life was at risk he could always trust a nearby wolf to come to his rescue. Perhaps this was one of the big reasons the bandits didn't kill him themselves. But, before too long even that family had to come to an end. They found themselves at odds with the Aldori Swordlord Raston Selline, having felt themselves strong enough to challenge their place under Mivon's governance. But, of course, it was a blood bath and the bandits found themselves scattered to the winds.

Jynn however, managed to flee that battle on of all things a bison. This was how he found himself in the Stolen Lands. He supposed there were worse things than being freed from bandits how he had been, however he had heard the stories of the twisted man that ruled these lands with his bandit army. He knew that he'd see no rest, but he was not some defenseless boy this time and he'd not let himself be forced into that life again.

I'm open to suggestions or thoughts on changing him a bit to better fit the group. I may do some revamping of the background between now and selection time thought. I apologize in advance if it changes the character too much.

Sorry, I was working a convention all weekend so I didn't really get a chance to respond to this sooner.

1. Always worry bout your health, just a quick blurb is all anyone can remotely ask for letting us know you need a few days or the like from being sick.

2. It is really up to you guys. I am fine with continuing, I'm fine with quitting (I did really enjoy the concept of this), and I'm fine with picking up another person. Personally I have no recommendations though.

Jynn looks at her and raises a brow "Tell me dear, do you need a bit of undercover protection? Would it help to have someone less suspicious by your side and make sure nothing happens to you or to get info that an outsider wouldn't normally get? I happen to be a man of many talents and disguises. I'm sure if you can show me an assistant or something of that nature who might be taking a minor vacation....I could pass as them." he offered as he looked around the room trying to see what the others thought of the idea.

Jynn yawns a bit as he makes his way into the reception with coffee in hand. His other hand smoothing out the rough black beard that was upon his choice of faces when he didn't wake up with the urge to be bit playful. He took a sip as he turned and looked at the client before seemingly stopping mid gulp.

She may be a bit comely to look at at the moment but given the right light and a bit of cleaning up, she would certainly be a sight to behold. He spit the coffee in his mouth back into the cup when Bojd spewed forth a rather straight forward question without even any type of pleasantries first and set his cup down before clasping a hand upon the man's shoulder.

"Ah, forgive my friend he is quiet the eager soul when it comes to a puzzle or a case. Allow me to welcome you to this lovely establishment...Don't let the looks fool you, we are quite capable I assure you. I suppose introductions are in order? Yes, well you have already heard from my esteemed associate Bojd here. Over there trying to become one with the wood is Pierce I believe...or that might be a hat rack, I always get the two mixed up. Oops, sorry sorry probably not here to be entertained by my jokes, eh? I am of course Jynn, would you care for a spot of coffee or water perhaps?" he said as he moved about and grabbed a chair to come to sit right in front of her with his hand extended to greet her.

Honestly it is up to you, I am good for going either route at this point.

I would like to of course keep playing as I thought this was a really interesting idea but if you are having a hard time finding the motivation I totally understand.

Jynn seems a bit alarmed as he sees the others before him and he stops in the doorway. He looks about before preparing a spell and holding it for the hobgoblin to reach for a weapon or attempt to use that lovely little wand.

Jynn gave a slight sigh of relief before whipping out the wand and popping down to join her.

Jynn turned about and attempted to look alarmed. "AH, what did you do? We'll get in trouble if we don't do the job properly..." she says as she tries to feign ignorance to what just happened.

Jynn sighs as he turns his back to the hobgoblin. This was probably about to get really intense and he didn't have any backup. He shook his head and took a deep breath before trying to cast the spell and hide what he was doing.

Casting Spark, and every GM is different I've found on what they require for stealthfully casting a spell...so what skill would you prefer? I know that Spark does state that it's to an unattended item...but attempting to light the cloth on fire when he's not actively shaking it would be ok? Yes?

Jynn understands after a brief moment and slips into the dark corner of the room before attempting it himself.

Jynn listens for the moment and then looks back at the hobgoblin before quietly responding back. "I have my orders from Kerrither, I won't risk ruining my pay just to please you" he said back.

Jynn pushes his way back in in the disguise he had found that the other Hobgoblins had been wearing and makes his way over to the saved seats and sat down beside Jesaeli "Hmm, I think everything is going well enough. The rest of them are working the backstage so I'm gonna try and take in the performance and see if perhaps something can be noticed out here. There seems to be a...clan of hobgoblins working this show? I'm not entirely certain but there was a dead drop for one outside, though I'm not certain who left it or why." he said whispering to her.

Typically I'm using whatever he/she is portraying at the moment. He identifies as a He. But is comfortable as a she when he feels like it. Bah, changelings ^^

Jynn stopped and looks around curiously to make sure no one was watching her before sneaking on up and grabbed the package and ducked down an alley to take a look.

Jynn would probably know each person as a different person then himself.

He would've found a kindred spirit in Quill once the two shapeshifters figured out what each other was. Quill would probably be the only one who has seen personally his natural look as opposed to his normal assumed look.

Selmy he would have sympathy for and would talk with him about how life was growing up as such but as different people that met him in the tavern for drinks here and there.

As far as Bojd and Tavick, he would find it more then humorous for him to try and trick them here and there and attempts to figure out just how smart they are and if they can figure him out amidst the world of lies and tricks around him.

Hmm... I'm fine with most everything as far as info goes. I go by Wallace (not my first name but you'll see why in a minute), I live in Missouri in the USA. No degree to mention of but I did electrical engineering the Marines. I'm medically retired from it (I'm also only 30, feel I should mention that because most people assume I'm really old when I say retired). Unfortunately I'm unable to work, but I do still try to challenge my mind with various stuff. I'm trying to Learn Japanese and then German if I can manage the first.

Jynn looked for half a minute or three with the others before excusing herself and walking outside with the ticket stub. Partway outside, she covered her face and did a bit of subtle shifting so as not to alarm anyone of seeing twins. She looked for Jesaeli and palmed her the ticket stub before dipping out to go find some clothes to match what the female Hobgoblin was wearing.

Jynn scratched her head for a bit and sighed, he did enjoy a good spotlight. He looked at her "I've been known to do a bit of dancing from time to time but I dare say I haven't seen the choreography...but that is solely up to you. I would say it would be best to have someone behind the curtains and out front to watch and find out what this is."

Jynn nods politely and heads inside. This should be fun, a hobgoblin of all things should be easy to find. She watches with a bit of curiosity as she is ushered towards the green room.

She takes the long way around towards the green room, making sure to move close to the hobgoblin so that she could hear and see what it was wearing and if there was a dialect to go with it's voice before moving on to the green room to join the group.

Sorry I didn't chime in in time to help out on the gathering >.< Weather is really destroying my ability to type (I unfortunately have Arthritis at an early age).

Jynn saw Jesaeli's earlier outfit and redressed accordingly. He chuckled and did his best to look like her in all manners.
When it came time for her to present her ticket, she gladly offered it and smiled politely at the man. "I hope that you've had a pleasant day? No one has been a bully to you have they?" she said

Jynn speaks up after a while, having adjusted his figure to match that of Quill's. "A party, oh heavens. It's always such a delight to go to a performance and enjoy a good show. Though I suppose if we are to enjoy a good show...then we have to fix a situation." she said smiling and picking up one of the tickets.

She looked back to Jesaeli "You know, if you wanted I'm sure you could go. All we would have to do is have me look like you, go inside with the group, come back out looking like you hand you the ticket and I'll simply look like someone else that's already inside. Maybe someone who had already caused a scene so I don't have to worry about them not realizing the ruse. They'll simply want to be rid of me and so off I'll go back inside." she said, changing back to his own voice partway through.

Well personally I love the downtime/business section personally though I understand the limiting of people owning their own businesses.

Generally as a bard I do tend to take the Leadership feat at some point (I've never touched the 3rd party book you mentioned...Leadership Handbook but I like the idea of non charisma characters being capable of being excellent leaders. Though I've seen some people Roleplay it out as their cohort being the one that was inspired by their character and he is the one with the following [Using his Charisma to represent the levels of stuff and such]). Personally I tend to balk at 3rd party stuff myself but I'm curious about this one.

My thoughts weren't as far as a business to really go nuts and purchase buildings that would make me money but make sense for information gathering like a tavern, a dance hall, a hospital, maybe a guild hall...but not stuff like magic shop or the like. Some place to put the various lvl 1 followers and some of the higher ones as management in the long term....

There is going to be a lot of Changeling shenanigans apparently given there are two of us ^^.

I am pretty ok with either style. I've not done too much of the way of Episodic but it could make a feeling time having flowed between dangers to give the people a feel of having a life outside of just adventuring constantly.

Will there be an explanation of how much time has pasted between "adventures" and would we be able to do things with the downtime like craft magic items or other things presented in the Ultimate Campaign?
