Tania:
Whispered to Tania. "My mind was thinking the same thing Tania, but I'm unsure if the boy would have wanted to live as an outlaw being hunted by the hellknights. Hopefully the judge may be able to consider our request, otherwise I fear there really is only 1 other practical alternative for us." Jo'no stands beside Tania, nodding as she speaks her plea.
Tania: "I'm really not sure what we can do. I understand the importance of ensuring that the punishment must act as a deterrent to others. I also accept that the Creedy's were not the holiest of saints either. People did die from the results of their actions." Jo'no sighs. "Despite all that, the sentences just really don't sit well with me as it feels like I am the one wearing the executioner's hood. Sadly I think that boy is no different than Nuala. Simply a young impressionable soul that simply needs guidance in life, and perhaps he could make better decisions. I would rather have seen him indentured to a monastery or a temple." Jo'no shakes his head. "Perhaps I will have to rely more on my instincts in the future, even if it goes against the collective will of the group." Jo'no shrugs.
Sorry I haven't had a chance to post Jo'no's testimony. It has been a very busy couple of days for me. I also have a bit of a bad memory, and I don't have the time to go through all the past posts and figure out what Jo'no would have said. He would have been very factual and literal in his account of the events. He would have tried to present the testimony in the most accurate legal terminology he would know. (Since there is no knowledge-legal, I think -local is about he closest?) [ooc]Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

They are all in one master book now, called "Jo'no's Spellbook". He is free to copy anything he wishes.
Jo'no will gather his friends and will share some of the highlights of Nuala's diary. See above info in Wrath's story for Jo'no. "I feel honor bound to seek out this blooded judge in Magnimar and ensure that he is..." Jo'no pauses slightly, but clear his mouth seemed poised to speak the word of "kill" next. "... is brought to justice."
Jo'no approaches Nuala's body and drops to one knee, and hangs his head down. Deeply saddened both by her death and by the path she had chosen. The young wizard sees how disraught Tania is, and in a hugging grasp holds her and tries to console her. "The poor naive girl was always getting herself into trouble, but something like this I did not anticipate. Poor Nuala. She didn't deserve to be misled like this. Someone is responsible for taking her down this dark path, and that is something I intend to pursue." Jo'no sighs. "We should take a quick look around to see if there are any journals or documents which might help us assess who is behind this. Then we will need to return her body to her family so that the proper arrangements can be made."
Will Save DC 16: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Greatly drained of health and shocked at Nuala's transformation, Jo'no casts an enchantment at her. If his spell seems to take effect, then he will remain in place, otherwise he will withdraw back around the corner to allow the martial-minded more room to work. Hideous Laughter - Will Save DC 16
Jo'no watches his companions examine the area for traps. He remains behind everyone having little talents to offer in this task. Upon hearing Tania's query, "I can summon a creature with the power of my staff. If we are at a loss for any other option then I could call forth a creature, but I suspect Mikka might be the better person to summon a creature for this type of experiment. Perhaps an ape?"
If you are telling someone not to run from you or you will kill them... it is a threat. It can also be called a warning or a factual statement, but they are all the same thing. Now, given the scenario, I actually thought it was an appropriate threat and I like how Idrian worded it -- gritty yet still somewhat cordial.

Okay, swapping out sleep for Ear-Piercing Scream (UM), and see invisibility for Cushioning Bands (UM). With the gear quickly gathered, Jo'no is anxious to press on to see what sort of mischief Nuala is up to. While holding out the wand and the spell tome and addressing the group in general, "do you mind if I make use of these?"
Concentration check: 1d20 + 11 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 11 + 6 = 27 Jo'no completes his casting and pauses slightly to see its effect. If Nuala does not drop into a slumber then Jo'no follows with casting another spell which fills the area behind Nuala with webs. Jo'no will target the burst of his sleep spell so that only Nuala is in the area. If the sleep spell does not work, then Jo'no will fill the room behind Nuala with webs which will also include the area that Nuala and her friend are standing in. Sleep DC: 15
"Although I do have a cantrip I could have mended the bridge with, sadly I did not prepare it this morning. I do have a spell that will make me light as a feather should the bridge give way. We could secure a rope on this side and I could take the other end across and secure it there." Jo'no looks towards Feldspar and asks, "what should we do with the sleeping goblin when we reach her? "
DM Wrath wrote: A note of full round spells - Spells like sleep and summon X spells take one full round to cast. In my games, I generally take this as requiring free, swift, move and standard actions to complete. I allow the breaking up of that across rounds, but sometimes that becomes cumbersome to handle. In PbP it's not so hard since I have time to go back and read a players actions again. I decided to double check the rules on this, as I believe in 3.5 this is how this worked. I have played with many different groups in different geographical areas and the GM's also allowed splitting the 1 round action. (Usually for summon spells is when this came up). Interesting enough, I decided to do a search to nail down the rules (either for 3.5 or Pathfinder). Instead all I found was forum posts both for and against it. I was suprised by this as prior to this, the ability to split up a 1 round action has never come up in game discussion for me.
Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 Jo'no rushes forward towards the bridge, while calling forth "Wake up!". On the virge of having a vantage point, the Shoanti calls upon his inner power to teleport himself closer. Jo'no then calls forth a spell to put the goblins into a slumber. Move 30' towards the bridge and as a swift action teleports 10' closer to a vantage point of the end of the bridge (R44). Jo'no then cast Sleep on the 4 goblins at the end of the bridge (DC 15).
Jo'no nods positively at Idrian's response. "Perhaps it just comes down to a difference in cultures. When you refer to people as being foolish, or their ideas being foolish, some people take this as a great insult. My concern is certainly not in our differing viewpoints, but only a concern in how you have attacked my suggestions. I think we understand each other better now, and I believe we can continue working amiably together."
"Irdian, I am doing my best to be patient with you, as my people have taught me. However, there is also a time when a stand must be taken, and I feel that time coming close. Although I have noted that your manner is abrupt, insultive and rude, it seems that it is mainly with when speaking to me that these traits are dominant." "I could just as easily suggest that you are foolish, uncaring and perhaps lacking of intelligence for thinking that offering surrender to a foe who is greatly outmatched is not humane or even logical. I accept the fact that you greatly hate these creatures, but you need to learn temperance if you wish to continue to work with adventuring groups. More-so, I suggest not insulting those, whose viewpoints differ from your own, especially if those viewpoints cross into religious doctrines." "I suggest that you consider my words with wisdom as I fear failure to do so will find this group short a member very soon."
