So to begin with, the Giant Instinct lets any Small or Medium creature wield a weapon built for a Large creature, that's all fine. BUT if you pick up Giant's Stature, it says you become Large regardless of whether you were Small or Medium before and also that your equipment grows with you. So if a Small barbarian grows two size categories to Large, does the weapon also grow two size categories to Gargantuan? Whereas a Medium creature would only grow one size category and would only end up with a Huge weapon?

I assume you're talking about the Red Mantis assassin archetype? The assassin archetype in the APG has no alignment requirement and is standard availability. It is true that you would not be able to play a Red Mantis Assassin because of the alignment requirement, as a Lawful Evil character is not legal in PFS. This is not why the archetype shows that it is not legal on Archives of Nethys however. AoN is showing the PFS Restricted mark because it is specifically listed as Restricted on the Character Options document. My speculation would be that Red Mantis Assassin is specifically
restricted, beyond the unmeetable alignment requirement, because the

Question 2: Are antipaladins legal?

Antipaladin appears to be of Standard Availability. However, as it is impossible to legally meet the requirements to be an antipaladin, it is not an option.

I was talking about the Core Rulebook prestige class called Assassin, but this answers my question. Thanks!


Hey guys I was just scrolling through the Archives of Nethys and noticed Assassins aren't PFS legal and I'm just curious why. Is it because they have to be evil? And if so are Antipaladins legal?


Don't know if this is really a rules question but is any book with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Compatible tag on it legal to use in a game? Like, does the tag mean it's officially recognized by Paizo?

And to answer your question, yes. It's not a question of difficulty when crafting, just time and resources.

My level 8 Gnome Cleric had +17 Spellcraft on account of 8 ranks, +2 Int, +1 from a trait, and Skill Focus. She crafted the monk a Monk's Robe without being high enough level or knowing the right spell, with no chance of failure because you can take 10s on spellcraft. Is it supposed to be this easy?

Firstly, would I take the -4 penalty to grappling for not having both hands free if I'm holding a weapon even if I'm using the grab ability?
And, does holding a light shield count as still having a hand free for grappling?
Finally, for something like Wicked Improvisation, do unarmed attacks qualify as natural weapons?
Wicked Improvisation (Ex): At 12th level, a feral gnasher becomes more capable with improvised weapons and natural attacks. The feral gnasher gains a +1 competence bonus on damage rolls when using natural attacks or improvised weapons while raging. At 14th level and every two levels thereafter, the damage bonus increases by +1. This increase is not precision damage and is thus multiplied on a critical hit. This ability replaces trap sense +4.

If I, a wizard, cast beast shape on myself can i still speak, cast spells, or use weapons? Or am I just stuck as a monkey for the duration of the spell?


So at level 1 a wizard can only cast 1st levels spells, but can a 1st level wizard applya metamagic feat to a 1st level spell to increase its spell level, filling a higher level spell slot that the wizard gets through a high intelligence modifier?

If I am wrong about the order of precidence here, however, you could also get the Superior Summoning feat and get 3.

I was also thinking it wouldn't work because it says you get the service of only one creature, but I only ask because I think that might just be specifying that you cant use the high level summon spells to summon multiple lower level summoned monsters


If I'm an anti-paladin and i select my fiendish boon to summon a demon, would the Added Summonings bloodline power, (obtained through eldritch heritage), apply to summoning my fiendish boon? Here is the wording for each entry.

The second type of bond allows an antipaladin to gain the service of a fiendish servant. This functions as summon monster III, except the duration is permanent and the antipaladin can only gain the service of a single creature and that creature must either have the chaotic and evil subtypes or it must be a fiendish animal. Once selected, the choice is set, but it may be changed whenever the antipaladin gains a level. Upon reaching 7th level, and every two levels thereafter, the level of the summon monster spell increases by one, to a maximum of summon monster IX at 17th level.

Added Summonings (Su): At 15th level, whenever you summon a creature with the demon subtype or the fiendish template using a summon monster spell, you summon one additional creature of the same kind.


Okay let me rephrase, Half-Orc's have a racial feat called Beast Rider.

Beast Rider
You gain the service of a monstrous companion or mount.

Prerequisites: Animal companion or mount class feature, character level 7th, half-orc or Orc.

Benefit: Select one of the following creature types: elephant, pteranodon, rhinoceros, stegosaurus, or triceratops. Add this creature type to your list of possible animal companions or mounts. When summoning a creature of the selected type to serve as a mount or companion, treat your effective druid level as if it were two levels higher (to a maximum of your character level). If the creature is large enough for you to ride, it gains the combat training general purpose (see Handle Animal) at no cost.

This also allows Orcs and Half-Orcs to receive Gortheks as a mount/animal companion.

And this is the Paladin Divine Bond text for mount

The second type of bond allows a paladin to gain the service of an unusually intelligent, strong, and loyal steed to serve her in her crusade against evil. This mount is usually a heavy horse (for a Medium paladin) or a pony (for a Small paladin), although more exotic mounts, such as a boar, camel, or dog are also suitable. This mount functions as a druid's animal companion, using the paladin's level as her effective druid level. Bonded mounts have an Intelligence of at least 6.

Does the divine bond (mount) qualify Orc/Half-Orcs for the beast rider feat?


I'd like to create a Half-Orc Paladin that eventually gets a Gorthek as his divine bond. Under divine bond it says it functions like a druid's animal companion, but does this allow me to take feats that are qualified by having an animal companion, such as Beast Rider?

So under Beast Rider it says "Medium beast riders can choose a camel or horse mount at 1st level. At 4th level, a Medium beast rider can also choose an allosaurus, ankylosaurus, arsinoitherium, aurochs, bison, brachiosaurus, elephant, glyptodon, hippopotamus, lion, mastodon, megaloceros, snapping turtle (giant), tiger, triceratops, or tyrannosaurus as his mount. Additional mounts might be available with GM approval" but at 4th level none of those companions that become available to a medium beast rider have hit the 7th level advancement to become large. So is the beast rider archetype completely useless or am I missing something?


So under the Horn Harness it says "This simple harness, basically just a leather lash, straps a combatant's arm to the tusk or horn of a Huge or larger animal such as a gorthek.", but a Gorthek is only a large animal. Is this a misprint or what?


Can a hybrid form lycanthrope reproduce with its base animal and make a 3/4 animal thing? For instance, I'm a werehorse, can I reproduce with a regular horse in my hybrid form to make some sort of abomination of nature? 3/4 horse, 1/4 man?? If not, If I breed with a horse in my animal form, will the offspring be a normal horse? Or a horse who turns into a man during full moons?

When the book refers to weapons with "Orc" in the name, is it only referring to the Orc double axe? Are there other orc weapons? If an orc crafts his own battle axe does that make it an "Orc battle axe"?


Since regular goblins have the fast movement trait and they are small, do oversized golbins keep that trait and get 40 ft. per turn?

Multiweapon Fighting (Combat)
This multi-armed creature is skilled at making attacks with multiple weapons.

Prerequisites: Dex 13, three or more hands.
Benefit: Penalties for fighting with multiple weapons are reduced by –2 with the primary hand and by –6 with off hands.
Normal: A creature without this feat takes a –6 penalty on attacks made with its primary hand and a –10 penalty on attacks made with all of its off hands. (It has one primary hand, and all the others are off hands.) See Two-Weapon Fighting in the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook.
Special: This feat replaces the Two-Weapon Fighting feat for creatures with more than two arms.

If a kasatha or a custom race has 4 arms, does the unchained monk ability that states " There is no such thing as an off-hand attack for a monk striking unarmed." allow the kasatha or custom race to attack with all 4 arms at no penalty? Asking for a friend thanks.

So I'm trying to generate an Octopus PC to join my party. I just have a couple questions. At 1st Level would his class level just be Octopus 1 and all his attacks/stats just come from the CR 1 Octopus Statblock? And if I want to alter his ability scores, can I do so then add his natural octopus stats as racial modifiers?


I just need to know exactly how the Metamagic Feat Heighten Spell works. Do I cast a first level spell as if it were a 2nd level? Such as allowing a 1st level Transmutation spell to take the form of a second, allowing a Level 1 Sorceror to cast a 2nd level spell he doesnt know? Or would it simply increase the duration of a spell that said Duration: 1 min./level?


If a first level wizard gets extra spell slots for level 3 spells but doesn't have any spells per day, can he still apply Empower Spell to a 1st level spell?


Would changing my animal companion into a magical beast through the Celestial Servant feat also modify it's HD and BAB?


I'm debating on whether to make my new druid a human or aasamir. Aasamir is appealing because the stats are perfectly designed for a druid and also the availability of the Celestial Servant feat to apply the celestial template to my animal companion. On the other hand, humans can increase an ability score of their animal companions by 2, which is also very appealing. Thoughts?


Would the Human alternate racial trait Silver Tongued apply to animal affinity as well?

Silver Tongued: Human are often adept at subtle manipulation and putting even sworn foes at ease. Humans with this trait gain a +2 bonus on Diplomacy and Bluff checks. In addition, when they use Diplomacy to shift a creature's attitude, they can shift up to three steps up rather than just two. This racial trait replaces skilled.

I'm looking to create a character that, at some point, gets into the business of rearing and selling magical beasts such as basilisks, gorillons, owlbears and similar things. How can I get a feel for how long it takes to rear these creatures and when I do, how much they're worth?

What does held imply if not grappled?


I was just wondering if being grappled counted as being helpless for the purpose of delivering a Coup de Grace. I had this idea of having a druid with a constrictor companion who just held them until I finished them off.

As to becoming half-fiend. Well typically that takes a bit better planning in the parental department before you are born but generally we can still work something out.

As for the pit fiend...

Well look I get it, you are mortal and you are wowed by all the dazzle involved with them. But honestly it's just not worth it. I mean yeah spell like abilities at will, lots of strength, so on and so forth. However they are well... boring. It's like getting the VP from HR, yeah he can get stuff done but no imagination and little actual skill.

Thanks for the suggestions but I feel as though I must clarify a couple things. I already have some infernal taint running through my veins if that would help the half-fiend transformation. Also, though having a pit fiend servant is undeniably appealing, I would rather have a pit demon friend (if you could call it that) that I can call upon or assistance or council, as well as a man on the inside who could report the happenings of Hell


I want my next character to either rein as King of Hell or at least hold a high position in the infernal hierarchy. So I have a few questions.
1. How do I bind/summon a pit fiend? Greater Planar Binding says I can summon up to 18 HD of creatures, but a pit fiend has 20 HD. Would empower spell raise it to 27 HD?
2. Can I make my character become a half-fiend?
3. How do I get into contact with the rulers of the Pit?
4. Can I make permanent friends/alliances with creatures that I bind? With diplomacy or spells or something.
If you could answer any of these questions that would be great


Can a Mystic Theurge cast the same spell from two seperate spell lists? Like using Mass Bull's Strength from the Wizard and the Cleric's spell list
And would Bull's strength stack with another use of the same spell?


I'm trying to make a small cavalier and can't really get it to work. So far, Halfling is what I'm thinking as far as race.

Can someone help me with the initial first level build? Weapons, armor, ability scores (20 points),feats, Order and mount. That would be awesome.

This is what I have so far.

Str- 16
Con- 10
Dex- 15
Int- 10
Wis- 10
Cha- 12

Order of the Sword and Wolf mount.

The conjuration school for wizards says that at level 20 you can make summon monster spells permanent. Does that mean you have to have 20 levels of wizard or just 20 levels total?


Do I need to pay the material component though? I don't have to prepare the spell and can cast it straight out of my spellbook.


My wizard just made it to level 17 and can cast his first ninth level spell. So could I use my arcane bond to cast Wish once per day every day, without even having to prepare it?


I'm talking about a wizard. Are spell slots the number of spells I can cast or the number I can prepare?


I just started playing pathfinder and I don't understand spells slots vs spells per day at all. Can someone please explain?
