Guys,

It seems that GM Captain Trips and I have had some differences and I have agreed to bow out. I wish you all good gaming.

Right. If she can't help and Johan gets really hurt or even killed she will have to deal IC with not being able to conquer her fears and letting something happen to a companion. Good potential for RP.

Since the goal was to secure a ling across perhaps we would have already lengthened the rope with another. I do not have access to the map at work and cannot see the length of the chasm. Also, not a big deal but I think the way you have the light working is not right. Or maybe it is but only strange. I put forth that we could see the light and what it illuminated for a lot farther than 80' just like you can see a campfire on a distant hill.

Johan still has a rope between him and the rest of the party. So maybe he will not fall all that far?

Your spell still might be the best way for you to cross... lets see what the DCs are. And Johan might plunge right through the first lily pad and have to be hauled up the side of the pit.

The floaty gnome fails to test the lily pads for the rest of us. Not the best plan. Jaghal, if you are floating you cannot test the path for the rest of us. Johan will tie a rope under his arms around his torso and hand the end to Szacha and Corentin. I'll do this. he says, preparing to jump to the first pad. Just spool out enough rope as I move to not jerk me backwards. he finishes with a smile.

The pads look close enough to just walk across. If Johan needs a jump check he will try to get 10 feet of running start and aim for the middle of each pad.

Lets test those pads. I say we tie a rope on to... someone light. his vision fixes on Sasha as he continues And see if she can make it across. If so that person can secure the rope and then we have an aid for others to cross. If no one else wished to try this I will go.

Kneeling over Martok's body Johan closes the dwarf's eyes and arranges his hands to hold his weapons over his chest. We will leave him here in this room for now. But I will come back for him if I am able.

As the healing washes over Johan he stands a little taller. His eyes are still moist but it is obvious that he is done grieving, at least for now. My thanks Jaghal. It is indeed good to have you back. Weapons readied he regards the first of the unopened doors.

Johan morns his dwarven friend and self appointed guardian and vows to see the body brought back to the clan for proper burial. If no one has Gentle Repose available this could become smelly... :) So now we have an OOC delima. I could easily spin it that Martok would want us to use his gear to help ensure the completion of the mission, or even claim a weapon or two to remember my friend by but OOC our DM might mot want os to get his gear as un-won loot. Thoughts?

We must press on. Even with the hag gone for now I am sure this place holds other dangers. Who besides me is wounded and what healing resources do we possess?

No AOO from Johan. He holds a melee weapon but its a two handed weapon and he also holds his bow. I do not think he can attack with a two handed weapon with one hand.

Concerned for his newly re-found friend Johan 5' steps, drops his melee weapon, and fires on the bear as he asks Jaghal, what did you do to the bear?

Hmm. Mr. Bear is suddenly very close to Johan, which he objects to.

The ranger double moves again not knowing that he has no shot at the owl/druid/hag. Jaghal, is that really you? Johan asks suspiciously. If so, did you see an owl fly through here? It was a hag druid and our enemy. And it summoned that bear that is behind me.

Not sure there is any way for Johan to get to where he can see the hag at the moment, is there? I think the best he could do is tome 15' back into the briars and still not see the woman. Not sure even a full move would allow him to see her.

Johan slowly pulls himself from the boggy ground, picking up the bow he dropped when he went down as he does so. There is a Johan shaped impression in the ground from where the giant's attack knocked him off his horse and into the wet turf. He has two massive wounds still from the giant's pole arm, neither significantly closed from the previous two applications of healing magic. Standing shakily he shoulders his bow and moves to retrieve his other bow, which is now broken and useless. I am ok, I think. He seems to be taking inventory of body parts. Better than this bow anyway. I think I made the giant mad. Can anyone fix this?

Accepting the healing from Martok's healing hex Johan with gratitude he moves to check on Thunder and is visibly relieved to find his horse unwounded. Turning to face the party its obvious that even after the healing he is far from ok.

Ok. Thanks for that clarification. Johan will fire two shots (regular and hasted. Since a 23 missed he is not going to Rapid Shot) into the square he things is occupied. It should work this time as he saw the giant move and then cast. Next round Johan will not know where the enemy is. As usual for me, high is good on a miss chance.

Johan fires two arrows through the fog at the last location he knew for the giant hoping to get lucky. He then rides his horse 15' closer to where he thinks the enemy is.
