Horizon Hunters

Jingling took in Nimble Reprisal at 1st level, so she already has expanded her ability to help her chums. IE, instead of getting extra reactions, she increased the utility of the one she has.

Jingling then took in Smite for increased damage on all Strikes, including the reaction.

It is always in fashion to Smite Thy Enemies Hip and Thigh.

As often as it is relevant to the story being told.

Agreed. At 2nd level my character was invited to an afternoon of "Fishing With The Nobility". So I sprang 2gp for fine clothing - fishing.

Please note that the brightly dyed waterproof hip-waders were ruined in a sewer, but I didn't stink like everyone else when we got out the other side; I just discarded the waders and went on.

Since you have a free archtype, I'd suggest a Champion. 18 Str & 14 Cha lends itself to a Sorcerer archtype, and sorcerers go every which way.

I recommend that your Champ/Sorc take a damage cantrip, with 60' or more of range (then you don't need lo lug around a bow). Second, you could take the Shield cantrip, and use a polearm for reach shenanigans. It makes your Reprisal much more effective, at the cost of a less effective shield. The cantrip produces one less AC, and adsorbs less damage before going poof.

So... you pays your money and takes your chances.

An Archer Ranger/Fighter with 18 Dex and 14 Str to step up front if necessary could be a lot of fun, too.

A wig of Holding might come in handy for toting around 4 items of bulk 'L'.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Might I suggest a Champion/Paladin of Shelyn, whose favored weapon is the glaive? a reach weapon. With Retributive Strike and Ranged Reprisal you get a _lot_ of use out of your reactions.

Then, since a Champion ought to have a 14+ charisma, you take in the Sorcerer dedication. Take any bloodline you like, but start with Shield as one of your cantrips. Then you get two actions, and a Shield cantrip per turn.

If you want more of a magic feel, take the Spellcasting feat at fourth level and look for utility spells, or one action spells.

Horizon Hunters 1/5

Elves have access to the Mithral Tree, which is a 2-handed rifle (not actually made out of Mithral).

There is a P2 one-shot module called "Head Shot to the Rot" which features four 5th level Gunslinger pre-gens wandering into town...

Sniper, with Mithral Tree
Goblin: applies bomb formulas to individual bullets
Shoot 'n Slash: gun in one hand, knife/sword/bayonet in the other
??? I don't remember. Alas!

Head Shot to the Rot was a lot of fun when I played it.

Yes, this makes sense. If the caster heightens it to do more damage, it should burn up the Brooch faster.

Thanks!

Horizon Hunters

In the description, it says the Brooch adsorbs 30 Magic Missiles before wearing out. Is a first level three-action MM spell one use of the brooch or three?

Horizon Hunters

Here is a direct quote from Guns & Gears: "... The Strike deals damage of the same type as the bomb (for instance, fire damage for alchemist's fire), and it deals an additional 1d6 persistent damage of the same type as the bomb..."

Alchemical Shot alters the type of damage from Concussive to whatever type of damage the bomb does. B/P are no longer on the table.

Horizon Hunters

a level 1 Gunslinger starts with Expert proficiency Firearms. Does this Expert rating extend to Bayonets & Reinforced Stocks?
