Backstory

Jing was lucky to live long enough to even met his younger sister Cessily, let alone old enough to find himself in a situation where he must take care of her. The boy, while bright and charimsatic, was stupid in the ways of common sense. This did not make for an easy childhood growing up in Cheliax, as one of the ill trusted and disliked catfolk. It was perhaps his silver tongue, more so than his nimble fingers that managed to keep him out of trouble with the Hell Knights.
Upon his cusp into adulthood Jing had learned a few things about surviving in such a terrible city. One, if you do not have then you must take but if you must take you must not be seen. He learned early in life that if he was to go out thieving, then the first step was to be seen as a different person all-together. He found it far to easy to clean a chimney for a few copper before he would go off thieving, thus turning him into a black cat in the process, was a great way to disguise himself from the average person.
Two, find something your good at and charge for it. This took some time to cultivate but eventually with a bit of luck, a bit of magic, and a lot of lying he managed to infiltrate his way into being seen as a Cleric at times or even a medium at others. Humans, for some reason and nobles in particular were fond of hearing about their long dead loved ones and with a little magical help he was able to trick them into believing their kin would talk to him and would wish him to warn them of the scheming another kin had planned against them. This was a great way to make a few coin, to feed and raise his young sister.
He spent his young life lying, cheating, and stealing to get by wishing there was a better way of life and hiding his actions from his sister all the while attempting to teach her to be a better person than he ever will be. This was perhaps made difficult by having to move from tavern to tavern, using fake names and disguises all the time so much so even he had trouble keeping up with his lies at time. But, he would do anything to see that little smile and listen to the soft snoring of a full belly...Anything!
