![]() Actually, part of the reason why I wasn't skipping was because I had wanted to ask the priests of Abadar if we could pay for a healer of some sort to come and help Neva and Rutter. Though if we can skim over that that's fine. I was just going in that direction. ![]()

![]() Looking to his new, sickened, friends Jethro decides it is time to get moving after the lockbox. Turning to Vyshael and nodding to Felgar he asks quietly : "Are you two about ready? I think the faster we deal with this the better." Walking toward the door Jethro turns back, glancing quickly at Rutter then Neva. "We will back shortly to aid with what we may. Stay well and don't try and do too much. We will not be long." Hoping his voice had enough confidence in it to assure them he walks through the door - off toward the Temple of Abadar. ![]()

"I'm not sure what sort of state he will be in when he does recover though I admit it would be best for him if he had a friend here to greet him." Looking directly at Neva, "I would think you would be the best to wait for him, your concern for him makes me believe he would be happiest to see you." ![]() Sorry it's taken me a while to post. Been pretty busy lately. Jethro, having been dismissed earlier by Rutter, was brooding somewhat over the implications he saw with the vampire spawn. What sort of danger might they or others be in if there was a vampire powerful enough to have at least four of these minions? Where was it? And more importantly, was he now going to have to be part of destroying it? Neva's touch awakened Jethro from his thoughts. Reigning him back to the present he sees everyone gathered around for the moment. Speaking firmly, he says "We would do well to gather what we can before leaving my Lady. These vampires we have slain were only pawns, as it were, with as much control over themselves as your friend Felgar had for himself." "With all the happenings as of late I can only imagine the implications but there is an even more powerful being somewhere in the city that created these creatures and likely left them here for a reason. I dread to think of what the need for them to be here was and I do not think it would be overly wise to come back once we've left." Jethro finishes his little speech looking worriedly at Neva, believing she of everyone gathered would understand the implications the best. ![]()

![]() Jethro nods grimly at Vyshael. "Yes, by all means, begin that process. Though I believe Rutter was carrying the holy water, let me go and fetch it from him." Turning for the ladder a disturbing thought creeps into Jethro's head. Stopping at the bottom rung he adds, "I don't think these are the only vampire in the area. I'll explain when everyone is back in the same room." Hurrying up the ladder he summons Neva and Rutter back to the trap door. "There is more to this than we thought. You two should come back so we can fully explore what is going on here. Do not worry for your Dwarven friend just now, Felgar will likely not be all himself until tomorrows sunset." Pausing for a moment Jethro remembers why he climbed the ladder in the first place, "Besides, Rutter, we need the holy water to fully destroy these creatures." I'm assuming Rutter has the holy waters as he was the one who had it on his shopping list, if not I'll have to retcon who Jethro approaches. ![]()

![]() As the unnatural silence is replaced by the stifling silence of the vampire's home Jethro breathes slightly easier. Only slightly though, the current danger still played at the front of his mind. When Rutter drives home the stake and his prey cries out, the room beginning to explode into life Jethro flinches with the sudden noise. Panicked he slams the mallet down on the flat end of his stake. His own targets cries added to the awful wailing in the room. Though the sound faded quickly, as the vampires died, Jethro's ears rang with their death screams. He stood quietly for many moments seeming shaken from the suddenness of it all before quietly speaking : "Four went below to the Devil's door,
Slowly turning to the halfling Jethro congratulates Rutter, "It was a good plan, though I must admit I am surprised we were able to do it so easily. Given what I know of Vampires I thought this would be a much more difficult battle." Adding to everyone, "Well done." ![]()

![]() Helping Neva restrain Felgar, Jethro fights with the awkwardness of the magical silence. ' Is this what it is like to go deaf?' He thought, 'Surely there is not much worse to live with than the lack of sound.' Looking down on the paralyzed Dwarf, 'Actually, I can think of worse fates.' Turning his eyes to Neva Jethro mouths "What are we to do now?" before turns and sees the trap door propped open and Rutter gone. He knew the plan, of course, though the reality of what he was doing was hitting harder than he had previously expected. ![]()

![]() Jethro stays silent for the introductions. The obvious worry of what is to come playing across his face. He has never been much of a fighter. Still he would do what he could on this day. 'Perhaps I still have things to learn after all the time I've spent on the street.' He bow's slightly to Neva as she does her magic. "Thank you, M'lady." Is all he says, with a forced smile. Not for the first time he ponders, 'why am I helping these folk?' He knew their need was dire, but he knows he owes them nothing. Still, they are seemingly good folk. 'Perhaps I still have much to learn of myself... if I survives the vampires.' Jethro shudders a bit as he steels himself to continue. ![]()

![]() Sucks to see you go Copper. I hardly knew you! Good luck, and congratulations! As for me, I'm hoping to kick things in gear, my problem right now is I haven't known where to go in the gameplay tab and because Rutter has done such a great job with planning I haven't known what else to do. Question is, do we want to try to recruit someone before going after Felgar? Time is of the essence, in game at least. ![]()

![]() Jethro has a look of surprise as Rutter speaks of the corpses and where the bite marks were on their necks. "Indeed I would have. That is one of the most obvious tells of a vampire... Though it is concerning that they would just pile bodies like that. Mayhaps they are fledglings, or some lesser form. Still I would not be so keen to strike at them again, if it were not for your trapped friend." He pauses for a moment contemplating the possible outcomes and the current state of the two new comers in front of him. Looking around for more people who might belong with these two - indeed they would be foolish to go after vampires with only the two of them, three including himself. "If you could 'use someone like that' I may be willing to come along. Though for hunting the likes of vampires I would expect a fair share of what ever it is they offer you to run such errands. If its just the two of you and your friend trapped in there I would expect it would be better than what I can accomplish out here alone." As he finishes the statement he gestures to his clothing, clean and crisp yet distinctly worn and slightly ragged as though they were well cared for but also well worn. ![]()

![]() Well, I can tell you that Jethro isn't all that keen on going after vampires. As a player I think it may be better to rest and try again when the vampires are not just waiting for us. Stock up on the garlic, a mirror or two and some holy water. Bringing some wooden stakes wouldn't be a bad idea either. If they keep Felgar there it will likely to be as a guard so it may be difficult to get them staked but we should still consider it an option. As for rolling through, if everyone is around today we could likely get through a few posts. If not I can make a post or two a day during the week, but not until 10/11 pm est. ![]()

![]() A troubled look spreads across Jethro's face as he contemplates what he knows. Knowing that vampires are no laughing matter he speaks with a grave tone. "My lady, if they truly are as you say, there may be little hope. I pray that it is not, but they are unique among their kind... Almost. Can you tell me any more of them? I hate to think that you would be willing to run back into their lair if you knew the peril." He frowned at the thought. How could he let such a lady - even if she traveled with this rough looking halfling - go after such things alone. Something would be done, but what? "There are a few things that may help, if you are to re enter their dwelling again there are a few things that may be able to help you. Some more simple than you may think. For example, a mirror or garlic can repel them for a short time. If you can get them into the sun they will be out of luck... Of course there is also staking them, but I would expect that to not be an option at this point as you've already awoken them. Even harder would be to get them into running water. Of course other actions that could be used against such things - such as a dousing holy water - would be fairly effective as well." Jethro lowers his voice a bit and adds, "As for your friend, if you do not destroy the creatures, he will be caught for many days... if he is lucky to live so long." ![]()

![]() A look of alarm quickly passed over Jethro's face at the news. It quickly faded as he, too, knew the delicacy of a crowds mood. If they panicked it would make things very difficult to deal with. "Are you sure mi'lady? I've not heard such news around here. Though with the plague about there is no short supply of corpses for an evil priest to play with." Jethro shuddered visibly at the thought. He had not had much dealings with the undead but had heard some things. Thinking it may be wise to bring in some of the town guard to help - after all is this not something that they ought to know about?- he cast his glance around looking for a member of the town Guard. While he looks about Jethro asks: "What can you tell me of these undead?" ![]()

Stowing his flute then bending to pick up his collection hat, Jethro dumps what few coins he did earn into his bag, then placing it firmly upon his head. As Neva gets near he bows slightly to the lady and speaks. "Greetings, Neva - Lady of Pharasma. If it is knowledge you seek, I may indeed be the best source accessible to you currently as most reliable sources of knowledge are many furlongs away. What sort of information were you looking for?" Hearing Rutter talking amongst his crowd about plague-ridden bodies Jethro raises an eyebrow. "Is this man your friend? If it is knowledge of the plague you seek I would think it would be your guidance I should be seeking, not the other way around. Still, I will help if I may" ![]()

DM Ard:
I'm not sure how you would handle a bard trying to make money, but that would be Jethro's main source of income at the moment. I'm, also, not sure how many people would be stop, so I figure it would be better for you to make that distinction. His appearance is well kempt but - to a careful observer - worn. As though he were the most fastidious homeless person imaginable. His beard a bit long, but well trimmed. His hair mostly hidden beneath a cloth wrapped about his brow. Seemingly wrapped up in his own performance, Jethro does not immediately notice or respond to the cries for help from Copper.
